How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It's cozy and affordable. Abdullah who rans the daily business is a great guy! He will treat you like a friend. He's also a reason why I came back.

It is important for accommodations to maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure that all linens are properly cleaned between guests.

I have stayed many times at Riad Sijane, it is such a peaceful, quiet haven inside the medina. The facilities are simple but well maintained. Abdellah and Samad are wonderful hosts. I will be back!

The place is great, comfortable, very good located, the person that works there is very kind and always helping you with everything you need. I stayed for one night, and I felt so comfortable that I booked one more night. I will definitely recommend Riad Sijane to anyone that will visit Marrakesh and wants to be in the most exciting area of the city.

Excellent welcome from Abdullah; he always has a word to make you laugh and put you at ease. Unlike many of the city's hotels, here you can drink beers on the terrace and get in after 1am (because you have the key to the front door). Also, the breakfast included is very good and hearty!

Damp room Didn't feel clean
Room felt damp. 1st night: got late in dorm people were packing bags at 1am and then again at 7am 2nd night: a couple of guys on roof top drinking making noise 3rd night; a couple guys playing guitar disturbed the sleep Shower head damaged in private room Room felt cold Toilet was right quite cramp

It's cold. Really cold. There are no additional blankets either. The bathroom is pretty bad too - clean, but that's it for the positives. You can't even shut the door completely (and it's not even a proper door anyway!) and more often than not there is no toilet paper.
Very friendly staff, nice location within medina, nice breakfast, not in a loud street. Overall decent value.

The host cheated me our of taxes I paid $15 usd my taxes were just 7 I had no change , I asked for 3 days for him to refund the $7 and change he owed me he started lying he did not speak English, he could not understand me! I have no money to throw away! I was booked for the 11th December but I did not stay days before I asked for a refund they said yes for the 11th I still have not been refunded! This dude hates giving back change demand him give you’re change he did this with several people. He never seemed to have change!🤨

The shower could be better... We need a really nice warm shower after a day of excursions. But it is fine.
I like overall vibes in the hostel! Easy to hang out with other travelers from around the world. On the rooftop though!

I really like the place it's was good and clean its only about 10 min walk from the Jamae lfna square, the stuff was really nice and helpful

My only complaint (I am leaving the same comment for 2 riads where I have observed this): I think the place is not respecting Moroccan labour law. The only receptionist is working 24 hours every day. It’s no good for the employees.
The riad is beautiful and the service is exceptional. I have come back to sleep there there several times.

The place is great, the courtyard and roof terrace are beautiful. Very friendly and easy vibes. Abdoul is a perfect host. He cares for the guests from the early morning until late at night. I hope he sleeps sometimes.
