How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The water in the shower was not warm at all. The beds are very uncomfortable.

The staff are what makes this place, they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We had an early start one morning and we were given a breakfast to go which included home made treats!! Honestly It's like a family there. The riad itself is beautiful and authentic, you'll get the real Marrakech culture you're after by staying here. The breakfast was so tasty and it's lovely eating up on the terrace. We had the opportunity to sit with Mike playing guitar as well which was a beautiful wind down after a busy day! I couldn't recommend this place enough, for the price it's everything and more that you could want and need for a culture rich stay inside the Medina. Quick tip for anyone staying - the location isn't the easiest to find and it's not particularly visible from the streets, but still make sure you find the place yourselves and I'd recommend getting a taxi to the big square and walking in from there - we got a taxi to the riad itself which then dropped us in the most bizarre location, we were instantly met by a guy who walked us to the hostel (we assumed he worked there) but unfortunately was a local who saw the opportunity for a quick buck and quite aggressively demanded money from us. Don't worry - 95% of locals are not like this! Just keep your wits about you. Also, if you don't have your own towel make sure you ask for one on arrival - I forgot and there was no one about every time I went to have a shower (that's my bad!!) So a very damp t shirt haha.

the only thing that came up in my mind is a girl who wasn’t very respectful towards us but that doesn’t depend on the riad.
i Miss Ayoub, he treated us like a family. the property is perfect for every type of traveller, families , young and elderly or whoever is willing to try new experience and get out of their comfort zone. Plus the breakfast is included and there’s lot of tour you can buy there.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. My leg was broken at the beginning of my trip and Ayoub kept getting me food and medicine from outside and sometimes from cheaper vendors. I felt like home.

Ayoup was wonderful person helpful and works hard to make ur stay great. The people and groups met are also fine wither Morracan or globally one. I had great times

the hospitality of Ayoub and Sam , you can ask them everything. Nice terrace for remote travelers and in the night you can play guitar with Sam. I strongly recommend it.

The hostel staff was really welcoming and nice! The rooms were clean and we had everything we needed. Also the terrace is awesome! We met other travelers and had a good time , thank you! <3

Riad Sijan is amazing accommodations in Marrakech have great location and delicious breakfast the staff and owner they are very friendly and welcoming the rooftop very beautiful I’m highly recommend

- We were travelling with a friend and his reserved room didn't exist. After some telephone call was place in totally different place. Not much help from te guy there - Slow service in all senses - another friend forgot some clothes there. We sent an email. Nobody answered. We went there and apparently someone from the service took it and was in her city. After a serious complain explaining that's basically stealing they sent a message later totally changing the version. Now the reason was they throw it to trashbin. Was so pathetic that was close to comedy... - disgusting breakfast

The air conditioned could be better.
The stuff is very friendly and is always ready to help. The location is perfect. The breakfast included is better than hoped taking into account the price payed (fruit, coffee or/and tea, home made pastries...)
