Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsFor those taking the airport transfer: since the riad is located in the middle of the medina (pedestrian zone) one still has to walk at least 200 meters with luggage through the busy alleys, which can be intense if you’re not used to the Marrakech way of of life (vendors and motorbikes). Simon, however, did meet us when we arrived so it was no problem. One minor suggestion for the room: it would be nice to have a small trashcan (maybe in the bathroom).
The property is in the middle of the medina with loads of exciting alleys, restaurants and street vendors around! The riad is very cute, clean and peaceful with lovely decoration and a very nice shared roof terrace where the staff serves you breakfast. Simon, the host, really goes above and beyond to help you and thereby eases you into the busy Marrakech life. In addition he speaks very good english, which helped since we didn’t speak Arabic or french. I would recommend Riad Simon to everyone!

ItalyPrice of the private transfer from and to the airport could be lower considering local prices, but it's very efficient and comfortable
Location is close to many points of interest. Simon is super available for advices on what to visit, where to eat and good prices of goods available in the suk. Breakfast is abundant and tasty.

United KingdomI was sad to see there weren't any sun beds on the terrace like in the photo, but Simon said I was welcome to move one of the arm chairs into the sun. Bed quilt was the kind without a cover (I don't think it can be washed) and the loose sheet to separate me from it always got lost in the night... Made me wonder how many others' germs were against my face :/ otherwise the place was very clean and hygienic.
Riad Simon is right in the middle of the medina action, a few minutes from the main square and souks (though around a 15 minute walk from a road you can get a taxi from due to the medina restrictions). Simon was incredibly welcoming and caring, he clearly has a huge passion for running the riad! He treats all of his guests like family. The included Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful, very filling and varied a little each day.

United KingdomGreat hospitality. Got there early and our room was already waiting for us. He spent the next 30mins welcoming us with tea and giving us a sim (small fee) to help guide us around the city. Pretty clean comfortable cool room with a lovely breakfast. Simon is a great personable host who I would recommend staying with at the reasonable price he charges

ItalyThe transfer from the airport is expensive compared to the other taxi. The bed was really uncomfortable and made impossible to sleep. The water of the shower doesnt get away easily. The room hadn’t been cleaned everyday.
Simon is very friendly and the breakfast is very good. Great location in the heart of medina but be aware of the noisy.

LithuaniaRoom. The room was very small and very dark. If we didn't open the window and the doors that led to the riad's courtyard where other people walked, the air was stuffy. There was one mirror and it was very small, it hung at a very low level, I had to use the mirror in the hallway, because I couldn't see my face in the mirror in the bathroom. It's not big deal, but a mirror is important for a woman. The shower. That's my special pain. The hot water worked randomly. Sometimes it heated up, and sometimes it didn't. When it heated up, after five minutes of use it could stop flowing, and then it was cold again. It was winter, so in order for the water to heat up you had to turn off the shower and wait a little in the cold bathroom, wet and shaking. Also, the water didn't drain well from the trays, so you had to turn it off and wait until the tray empty out. Breakfast. We ordered breakfast there, it was ok, but I would have liked more protein and less bread. Coffee was cold, but we complained and they had done new one, hot. Soundproof. You can hear absolutely everything that happening outside in the Riad. Very recommend to take earplugs. With them I slept very good.
Staff. Simon and staff were friendly and helpful. Simon shared lists of nice places for google maps, served tea and local delights when we arrived. Room. was authentic and nice. Bed is comfortable and warm despite we were in winter time, we didn’t turn on the conditioner. Location is super good. It’s on the noisy street by you can’t hear it then you inside the Riad. Clean. It was clean, room was cleaned every day. if you care about authenticity, then this is a good place.

United KingdomWe had the only room in the riad which had a wall adjoining the main street which is quite a busy thoroughfare to the square. Noise from the street could be heard for a good portion of the night, so not the quietest. The other rooms were probably fine.

IrelandI was hoping that the riad will have a garden in the middle and I would prefer if it was a bit brighter inside the room.
The location of the riad was great as it is in the Medina and very close to the Jemaa el-fna square. Simon is an amazing host, he is very polite and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He gave us great advice about Marrakesh. The room and the breakfast were really good as well.

ItalyThe room was really small. But beside from that the problem is that we experienced a really bad situation. We left in the room our passports with a certain amount of money (and we were sure about the amount because it was the payment for our driver). Because there was no safe/strongbox and we didn’t want to take the money with us around the medina, I decider to hide passports and money in the back of the pillow. When we came back to the room, someone has enter before to clean it (we didn’t ask for this service and they didn’t ask us if we wanted this service). The passports were no long behind the pillow, but in front of them, so of course someone touched them. 50 euros were missing from our amount of money. We went to ask end they of course denied everything. The morning later we waited 40 mins for our breakfast and only when we were leaving and we were really late, the owner offer us to watch at the cameras. He said that the cameras can see inside the room if the windows is open. We refused to look because we were in a rush and we knew in any case we lost 50 euros. This was the only bad experience I had in a week of Morocco.
The location is great, inside the Medina, 3 minutes walk from Jemma El Fna. Breakfast was good.

United StatesPoor drainage in the sink and shower. Unpleasant odor from bathroom. Unreliable wifi. The Riad host encouraged us to visit a tannery. We had some time, so we agreed to go. He arranged for a free guide to walk us to the tannery and told us we'd need to pay an admission fee of 20 dirham each for the tour. The tour was horrible, unsafe and disgusting! After the 5-10 minute tour, we were taken to a store where they tried selling us rugs and leather goods. We weren't interested in buying anything. When we left the store, we were immediately confronted by the man who walked us through the tannery and the man who walked us from the Riad to the tannery. They demanded money. We gave the tannery tour guy 40 dirham. He got mad and demanded 400 dirham. We said no, ended up giving him 70 dirham and said that's it. Then the guy that walked us to the tannery demanded money. It got very heated. We ended up giving him 100 dirham even though the Riad host specifically told us not to pay him anything. The experience was very unsettling. We thought we could trust the Riad host.
Great location, right in the Medina. It's a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of the streets of Marrakech. Reasonable price. Host provided lists of things to do and places to eat.

NorwayThere’s a lot of noise coming from the street, no privacy because we can hear everything from the other rooms. It wasn’t very clean, don’t know if it was the color of floors but it looked very dirty and greasy. Anyway it was very cheap and ok if you’re looking for a place just to sleep.

United KingdomEverything was good.
Very welcoming, accommodating, responsive and nothing was a problem. We went on daily trips so we had to leave early so breakfast was ready for us as a take-away. When we stayed in, we enjoyed delicious breakfast, all freshly prepared, served at roof terrace. Best parts: Amazing terrace to enjoy breakfast and late evenings playing cards. Kids didn’t want to leave:) Rooms are cleaned daily. Hospitality and warmth. Location-needed to ask friendly locals for direction so it was not a problem. Although it is very central, noise is minimal. Information about local restaurants, Banks, attractions, spas, shopping.
