How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is convenient. The riad is in the old medina just a few meters away from the promenade on one side and the old medina square on the other side. The rooftop has a lovely view of the old medina and the oceanfront. The staff at breakfast service do a great job and serve very delicious moroccan meal. They also have small changes in the daily menu which makes breakfast an enjoyable experience.

We loved Riad Tanja. It is a welcoming (mint tea and cakes on arrival!) colourful, peaceful, spacious and friendly B&B on the edge of the Medina. Perfectly located for walking in the Medina, Grand Socco, Petit Socco and Kasbah. We felt very safe in the area. The staff were welcoming and friendly, always willing to help. Our room was spacious, comfortable and colourful. Excellent breakfast. Would recommend

The stay here was very comfortable, and the staff extremely helpful - excellent service, noticing when we were looking for something, returning my mobile phone left in the restaurant. Lots of space, and very well located. Lovely interior, and great views from the roof terrace.

The only thing I would change is the shower water temperature, the hot water did not last very long.
I loved my time at this Riad, it was super easy to explore the medina and find food. The bed was very comfortable, the room was large, clean and cozy. The bathroom was also very large. The staff was extremely friendly, patient and helpful! As soon as we stepped in they helped us with our bags and checked us in with no issues. I was always looking forward to the breakfast thats included because it was fantastic and SO DELICIOUS!

I really enjoyed my experience, the staff was so friendly and the breakfast was something to look forward to everyday. The view from the hotel was great, and the location was so close to everything. Made my first visit to Morocco very memorable and I hope to stay here again. Amazing experience!

Riad Tanja is brilliantly located in the old Medina with great views from the restaurant and rooftop. We were able to walk there comfortably from the main port, and it was well located for the old town and new town. The hotel decor is really nice, the staff were wonderfully attentive and our room was large and comfortable. We dined at the restaurant one night and the food was absolutely brilliant. It’s definitely an upmarket restaurant so on the expensive side, but the food was creative and delicious. Highlights of our stay were the welcome tea on the rooftop and the traditional and generous breakfasts each morning. We really enjoyed our stay.

We liked everything.
Decorated nicely - traditional with a touch of modern flair. Spacious rooms. Nice lay out. Loved the music in the evenings. Great location in the old town. Roof terra he with great views Very friendly staff. All the staff were very welcoming. We interacted most with Heba, Adnan and Marwan who were super helpful and warm.

The breaker tripped several times a day, causing power outages.We were told that breakfast would start at 8:00, but the lights were not even on at the venue at 8:00, and they were setting it up after we arrived. This was a problem because we needed to make it in time for the tour meeting.
The room is spacious and well designed.The staff is pleasant and helpful！

I can’t think of anything.
The riad is located inside the Medina and it’s a charming place decorated with tradition Moroccan style which makes the stay even more enjoyable. This was our first time in Morocco and the kids and us thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Would have liked to stay more than one day in this riad. The hot water for the showers was adequate, the beds comfortable, the place clean, the welcome tea reception was wonderful to include the live music being played in the reception area and the restaurant. The included breakfast is fabulous and plentiful!! This truly made the stay memorable! The location is very safe. Before going to Tangier, I read several reviews which were not positive which changed my expectations. However, once I arrived there and in the riad those fears dissipated quickly! It was extremely safe and the vendors were not aggressive as mentioned in the reviews. We had a very positive experience!

Staff at the Riad were very friendly and the service was highly professional. We stayed 2 nights: our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. A very authentic experience!

I wish the bathroom is more modern and the bathroom tiles cleaner. We get upgrade to the very beautiful room at the upper floor.
