Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoIt started negatively at the entrance of the hotel, the employees at the barrier were not friendly at all and you were not made to feel welcome. Once at the reception we wanted to check in, but the woman at the counter did not greet us and just kept looking. Then a colleague took over and he checked us in, we received our passes and a map and information about the hotel in an envelope. Nothing else was explained. The customer friendliness is hard to find. We had to wait for someone to take us to the room with the luggage. Once we arrived in the room we wanted to change and go to the pool. But the bathroom/toilet smelled very bad, we called and reported this, they would solve it. Most sunbeds and umbrellas are all broken. The drinks at the pool were undrinkable, no taste at all, you only tasted sugar. After swimming we went to the room to shower and the smell was still not resolved. When we looked closely in the bathroom we saw mold on the ceiling, we called reception and they would send someone. Finally, after calling 5 times and waiting 2 hours, someone came. She wanted to solve this problem by spraying some perfume in the toilet. But that is of course not a solution since you still have mold. After much complaining we got a new room, but that room also had mold behind the wood near the door and that room also smelled musty. The towels were of super poor quality. After using them once, they were just like a dishcloth and the smell is super four. Not worth repeating and definitely not recommended.
There is nothing positive to say. It was a terrible experience.

United KingdomI have recently been a customer at the hotel Riu Tikida Palmeraie In Marrakech from the Unfortunately our stay was not as pleasant as we expected. On our first morning we woke up to find that there was no running water and as a result we were unable to use the sink, the shower or the toilet. Additionally a number of the all inclusive services including sodas and cocktails were not available due to the water shortage. This continued for 2 days resulting in my fiance and I having concerns about hygiene for ourselves and food preparation within the restaurants. Other than this we enjoyed our stay but this issue did dampen our experience at the RIU resort.

PortugalThe rooms were dated and not very clean. Our sink was clogged upon arrival and it took three calls to the reception for someone to come and fix it. The food was repetitive and not good.
The staff was quite nice and assisted with booking activities and transportation.

United KingdomThe food selection was pretty poor. The additional restaurants you can book were very disappointing. Unfortunately the sun beds and umbrellas could also do with being replaced, overall the place requires some TLC!
The staff are very friendly and accommodating, super clean facilities.

United KingdomThe receptionists were not so nice, they do not take accountability and find it difficult to apologize I’m not sure if it’s a Moroccan thing One day a taxi guy harassed us outside the hotel because he didn’t want us to go with the cars we booked…he kept following us (3 girls) in the middle of the night which was scary, reported to the hotel and they did nothing about it…mind you these cab guys literally stay in front of the hotel to pickup guests at the hotel Another encounter I had, the day we were checking out, we needed to have our bath and head to the airport, we realised there was no water running…went to the reception and the lady was somewhat rude, saying there’s nothing she can do about it because there was no water in the whole city as the government had shut it down She didn’t apologize and take ownership of what had happened, instead she ordered us to leave the room at 12 else we’d have to pay extra..she didn’t show any remorse whatsoever… we even requested for bottle water so we could at least brush our teeth, she declined…we later had to get water from one of the cleaners Some of them are nice tho, but they don’t know how to take ownership of complaints, they act like they don’t care and we’re responsible for ourselves
The resort was really nice and there were so many activities to do Different restaurants to choose from also. Loved the breakfast

United KingdomThe room was not great, needed attention from a decor point of view, towels were very old, hard and thin. There was no aircon in the room even though it's advertised as such, this meant there was no ventilation as you cannot leave patio doors open on the ground floor. Room became very stuffy, especially overnight. First room we were allocated had a broken patio door lock (it would not lock), so the room was unsafe. We did manage to get another room, but the patio was not really usable as it was half bare earth and had peeling paint, not pleasant. It took nearly two hours from initial check in to get sorted. The bar was okay, bit dark and not enough seats. The drinks were very weak, gin and tonic never tasted of gin, even with a double or triple measure. Nice touch with nibbles, nuts, olives etc. Cocktails were pretty awful, tried a couple and really not drinkable. There seemed to be some sort of favouritism at the pool, with some guests getting the best locations reserved for them by poolside staff first thing in the morning. The parasols were very tired, ripped and some not working. Would be good to have a non smoking section at the pool as often smoked out by other guests.
Staff were very good, real asset to the property. Breakfast generally had a good selection, however, there were a couple of things that could be better; porridge, fruit juice and fresh fruit. Lunch was decent with good selection of typical buffet fare. Could get very busy. The main restaurant at night could get very busy, especially on a Monday when the alternative restaurants were closed. It really was a bun fight, with staff stressed and managers pushing them hard to keep guests happy. The Italian and Moroccan restaurants were an improvement, although the stated dress code of no shorts or teeshirts was not enforced The hotel grounds were beautiful, well maintained and very clean.
