How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything. The hosts were so kind and friendly. Moud was amazing and the hostal environment is absolutely great. The rooftop is so special. I am sure going back to this hostal soon. As a female traveller I was so safe here

The bed was really unconfortable and the guy of the reception should be change work.
Overall, the hostel is nice and is located in a quaint neighborhood of Tangier. The view from the rooftop is very nice

No real improvements - excellent value for money.
The thing which impressed me most was the vibe of the place. There was a really homely and welcoming feel to the hostel which was cultivated by the lovely friendly staff. You could tell that the owners were popular with the youth in the neighbourhood, and that youthful feel transmitted into how the hostel itself felt. There was a really fun rooftop where people (both staff and visitors) would chill and get to know each other. Definitely the place if you want to meet people, but also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Aside from that, the hostel itself was lovely. The bed was comfortable, the toilets were cleaned regularly, the staff were always happy to help and recommend things to do. The location was perfect, in the medina but ever so slightly removed from the hustle and bustle. Fantastic place, and great value for money. Definitely planning to come here again when I re-visit the wonderful city of Tangier.

I didn't like the location , it's inside of old medina of tangiers and it was not the safest. Hostel staff were nice but i didn't like how they kept changing my room every 24 hours and their explanation didn't make any sense each time . I guess they didn't want me to stay in a mixed dorm or some other reasons but in general they were very nice compared to some other staff i've met in some other hostels !!
Hostel staff from Chefchaouen were nice .

Best hostel I’ve stayed at. It was spotless, super clean and very comfy rooms. It also has the most amazing balcony with beautiful views of the city. Great for socializing and meeting new people but also heaps of space if you fancy a rest. The location is awesome!! Superb value for money. Mouad and his brother were the most helpful and kind as well, they are great at keeping a really great friendly vibe. Couldn’t thank Mouad enough for being so nice. Cant wait to come back!!

First time staying at a hostel and it was an incredible experience, which is mainly due to the wonderful staff running the place so a special shoutout goes out to Mouad and Hicham who could not have been more lovely or accommodating. They're such genuinely nice people who treated everyone they encountered with such kindness and respect--I loved getting to know a bit about them and the property over the course of my short stay. Also, housekeeping is wonderful. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is spick and span and it shows. Always came back to clean sheets and they washed my towel, which made my stay that much cozier. The rooftop view was stunning--I'm happy I got to see it during both the day and night, and the art/architecture of the establishment was also very enjoyable to look at. Spending all day walking around a city as beautiful as Tangier, then coming back to the hostel and being received with hot tea and good conversation was definitely a highlight for my trip. Really, thank you so much Mouad and Hicham :) my stay wouldn't have been as great without your help and hospitality!

All the stairs! Lol but i had a very bad knee & they did offer me a room lower down but I wanted the "penthouse" lol
The brothers were very kind & helpful especially carrying my bag for me & bringing me cups of tea (as i had a bad knee- walking with a cane) Beauty rooftop views of Tangier.

I had a very pleasant stay at Tangiers. The place is authentic and complements the atmosphere of Tangier Medina. Easily accessible and good privacy even in the shared dorms.
