Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt is a cheap and good hostel in the old town of Tanger. The host and the assistant were nice and chatty. It is important to note that the rooms don't have a window. Also, the bathrooms have, due to the ancient building the hostel is located in, no ventilation.

IsraelUnfortunately the terrace was wrecked by a storm, and they said they are going to rebuild it. At present only part of it can be used. The stairs are very steep and it's easy to slip. The stairway and one of the bathrooms need some paint. The sink In one of the bathrooms leaks, and the floor gets all wet when it's used. The room smells of mold so we had to keep the door and the window open when people don't sleep.
The location is central in the old Medina. Most of the points of interest in Tanger are within walking distance. There is common space in every floor. The kitchen is well equipped. The wifi is good and there are many places to work on the laptop. They make a cup of Moroccan tea for every new guest. :)

The hostel is lovely, great decoration, but the highlight is the staff. They're extremly nice, took us to a local live music act, we would have never encountered otherwise and we all hung out on the beautiful terrace later.

PolandThere was no one there when I arrived I thought maybe the staff was busts but not - they were asleep - guys working there staying up night and then they wake up super late Rooms don’t really have windows outside but to the inner part of the house which is problematic - if there is one person talking outside the room you can hear as if they were sitting next to you. Internet was slow
Great location - just in Medina. Nice surroundings. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Overall - good experience and I would stay there again.

NetherlandsThe rooms on the second floor is a little bit smelly. Kitchen could use an upgrade.
It's was the only hostel with electric heating convectors during my 2 weeks winter stay in Morocco. Everywhere else in Morocco felt cold at night.

United StatesThe bathroom fixtures could use a bit of love and hand soap would be appreciated. As others have mentioned, there are men waiting in the streets who want to guide you to the hostel for money and can be quite hostile when you refuse. Thus, I want to help future guests by giving them directions and pictures. Directions: When you pass through the stone archway next to Dar Laghrib Guest House (colorful hats and blue shutters), turn immediately left onto Rue Wadras. Turn right onto Rue Raiss when you see the tree murals, and the hostel is #40 on the left at the end of the alley (blue and white walls). Note: If you go straight instead of turning onto Rue Raiss, there is a #40 at the end of the street with a light blue door and cactus murals, but this is not the hostel. See annotations on photos for a visual guide. Hope this helps! :)
Great value right in the heart of the Medina but down a quiet street. Cleaning lady does a very thorough job. Very friendly, welcoming hosts with great hospitality. The women in my room were incredibly sweet and friendly, with lots of great advice and recommendations. Highly recommend for a more authentic local experience!

MoroccoCould be a bit noisy for light sleepers since there are people checking in late at night. Also, the place is a bit hard to find at first.
It’s in the heart of the Medina, great location, friendly staff (Mohammed is a super cool guy), and no bed bugs. The place seemed to be well-maintained with staff cleaning the space once a day.
