Beds were a bit hard. The kitchen was a bit lacking but nobody seemed to want to cook anyway, with such good restaurants around.

Brilliant hostel. So sociable with great areas to hang out including the rooftop. The staff were lovely - especially Anis. The instruments were a nice touch.

Nothing to dislike

This hostel ticks all the boxes. Great location. Walking distance from everywhere. In the heart of the Medina. Amazing diverse group of travelers pass through theses doors. It's impossible not to meet great people here. Amazing staff, friendly and helpful, personable. Genuine hospitality. Extremely cleanly. No bad odours, facilities kept in tip top conditions. Bathrooms are pleasant and plenty. Breakfast included. Largely spaced dorms, including lockers and curtains for security and privacy. Amazing terrace and lounging area perfect for socialising.

Just minor stuff -- The showers were a bit dark. My bed didn't have a shelf, or a railing, or a wall to lean against. The guest kitchen could use more equipment. They need more power outlets in the common room.

First time in a while that the hostel was really like a backpacker's hostel. The family style breakfast and 6pm tea time brought people together to make connections. Great vibe, lots of places to hang out. Decent bathrooms with plenty of hooks and shelves to put your stuff.

The hosts, the social events, the 6 o'clock tea, the lounge area with the games and books, the rooftop, the decor, the breakfast - the location speaks for itself: right in the heart of the medina

This is a very social hostel, perfectly suited for the vibrant atmosphere of Essaouira. I really enjoyed my stay here! The hostel has a great energy, making it easy to meet fellow travelers. Manager Nadia is incredibly friendly, kind, and always ready to help with anything you need. Her warm hospitality truly enhances the experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Essaouira!❤️

The hostel can be loud in the evening since it's a (beautiful) open plan raid style building. But hey, it's a hostel. If you are afraid to encounter hostel people, go camping in the desert or something.

10/10 and I don't say that lightly. One of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. This hostel excels in facilitating a great sense of community. Starts with the way the communal areas are set up and ends with 6 pm tea time. It goes perfectly with Essaouira's vibe. I've never done so many things with fellow travelers as in this hostel, since I usually don't like people all that much. The staff is super knowledgeable and always willing to help (ask where you can find Yussef the barber, just trust me). I would visit Morocco again just to stay in this hostel once more.

Super cool place, really fun staff (god save Medhi) and just a great place to spend time and meet people. Also excellent location right in the middle of the Medina and very close to the port. Brilliant rooftop with views over the whole city and a wonderful view of the sunset!

- I visited in January so it was chilly at night unfortunately. But, that is to be expected in January.

- Was supposed to stay 1 night, but ended up staying 4! Missed my flight to go home because of his place and the people I met in it!!! - Brilliant hostel that feels like home. - Communal breakfast allows you to meet fellow travellers. - 6pm free tea time was the best as you would meet new people and then everyone would watch sunset together at 7pm. - This hostel seems to attract good people, and I may have left with some lifelong friends. It attracts a more mature, well travelled and interesting crowd of humans. You won't find the surf kids here!! - I could have stayed much longer but needed to head back home for a meeting, - There is a rooftop with gorgeous views. - So much space to relax, lounge, or just chill and ponder on life. - I am sure I will be back here one day. Made some memories I will never forget. - Thankyou Chill Art for being a home away from home!

Issues with hot water from time to time

Hello! I enjoyed my staying at chill art hostel and recommend it to anyone visiting Essaouira. Beautiful view from the roof top where you have plenty of space for socialising, training or whatever you are up to. They also have some music instruments you could borrow. To complain here would really just be nitpicking.

This is a really excellent hostel. The building is beautiful and well kept. It's a perfect location in the medina, and the terrace is great (when the wind dies down!). More importantly though it had some of the nicest staff of anywhere I've stayed in Morocco. They are friendly without pretending to be your best pal, and cool without being standoffish - Nadia was particularly awesome. :) Additionally this place seems to attract a slightly more mature, discerning and interesting crowd - few of the braying surf brats you often find cluttering up hostels on this stretch of coast. Hard recommend.

On last night some random cat peed on my sports towel drying on a hanger - you know what i mean, its impossible to wash the smell away🫣🫣🫣

Located in the narrow passages of medina, but for me was easy to find. The staff was very welcoming and nice. The space for breakfast and 6pm tea very comfy. Breakfast as "swedish table", good tasty coffee, space for conversations with others. My room was comfy and clean, the bed was comfortable with curtain also with reading lamp. They have a small rooftop which is pretty high comparing to others in this medina, so you even can see the ocean.
