Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had a very happy stay at VDD. Everything as described and the staff looked after us beautifully. Nice breakfast and laundry done for small fee. Ordered taxis when needed and nothing too much trouble. We only had dinner at the hotel once as we were out most days but it was delicious. Splash pool great and warm enough for children. 5 minute walk to the camel beach and fun beach club restaurants Beach&Friends and Ocean Vagabond. 20min walk to the Medina along beach promenade.

United KingdomThe rooftop was a lovely spot for the delicious breakfasts, and the beds were really comfy. It’s about a mile from the medina so nice and quiet.

IrelandI found it expensive for extras and the pictures made it seem bigger. Perhaps as a single older person traveling, I received less attention than their groups which did not add to the joy of my holiday.
I liked the decor and style. The pool is small and in the shade which I'm sure is a benefit on a hot August day - but it made it too in the shade to swim in off season.

United KingdomThe only small issues we had were that the restaurant is not open for very long during the day and you have to decide in the morning if you will be eating there in the evening as the chef cooks only one meal per day and needs to know how many to cater for. Whilst I completely understand this, it did make eating a little inflexible and we therefore chose to eat elsewhere, which was a shame. The information about the restaurant was hard to find so we weren't aware of these limitations until we arrived and tried to sort out our food plans. The staff were helpful but communication wasn't always clear or proactive enough e.g. with regards to meal times, activity booking, and when the clocks went forward no-one told us so we were up 1 hour too early in the morning for our airport transfer. Other than these few small niggles, everything else was really fantastic.
The hotel was conveniently situated near the beach, with beach bars nearby, and only a 25-30 minute walk into the medina. The room was fantastic, we had an apartment with a private roof terrace, which was exceptional, and all of the other facilities in the hotel were excellent. The kids particularly loved the swimming pool. The food was delicious and the pre-arrival and booking communication was great - the hotel helped to arrange transfers or us at a great price.

United KingdomThe place is really nice, it is a little loud in the mornings but that's normal in Morocco! I highly recommend the hamaam, it was the best one I've had and the girls who did it were lovely, definitely worth it and half the price of others I've had. The pool is great and the rooftop is lovely, very chilled vibes

SwitzerlandThe location is ideal for surfing activities, about 5 mins walk from the shore. However it's a slightly longer distance from the Medina, nothing a taxi ride or renting bikes can't fix though.
The Hotel has exceptionally nice staff who are there to help and accommodate the guests request. The breakfasts were fresh and tasty, their spa is very pretty, clean and staff gave us a great service. The rooms are spacious and clean.

United KingdomWashing was very costly and they didn’t communicate that they were filling the machines up so I thought I was only paying for one load but ended up being two, which at 8€ a load is a lot!
When we were arrived (I booked on the day) we were informed that the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay as the chef was away. I was dismayed it was nearly 7pm, night had already fallen and I’m travelling alone with 3 kids under 8 years old who were hungry. I expressed this and the owner came back five mins later with the keys to one of their apartments at no extra cost but equipped with a kitchen. I was so relieved and delighted at their consideration. It was a treat for us to stay in a hotel and my kids and I loved it. Would highly recommend

United KingdomAlthough the breakfast was included and served on the beautiful veranda rooftop, we felt that it slightly lacked in choice, however we were grateful to have the option!
Our stay was fabulous from start to end! We were well looked after, arriving in from a late flight in Agadir, the hotel organised a driver to collect us which is a 6hr round trip and the fee was around £70 so great value. Beautiful room, peaceful, amazing hammam spa, welcoming staff! A little walk from the Medina, however really close to the beach and very peaceful!

United KingdomNothing. We would come again.
Quiet, beautiful gardens and small WARM pool (in November), delicious big breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, laundry service, optional dinner, easy to find, opposite the beach, away from the noise of the medina. Great for families and children. We choose a family suite with a terrace (safe for small children).

United KingdomJust a pity plunge pool was in the shade all day, or we might have used it. Probably would be super at height of summer, when you want to be out the hot sun.
I liked everything about this hotel. Quite quirky, in a good way. Staff were really helpful. Sorted out return airport taxis for us, as well helping us book a pool day at another hotel...... Breakfast was lovely on the sunny roof terrace. Room was comfy, clean and spacious enough, with a small terrace straight out on to the plunge pool.

Lovely rooftop terrace. Best thing about this place is the Moroccan staff. Nasrine (The Chef) is the most accommodating lady. Nada and Moh Sii Ne are equally hospitable, friendly and super helpful. They really made our stay special! Definitely worth eating here. Affordable and delicious. Loved the Semolina porridge in the mornings and coffee was good. Tagine were also wonderful. The pool area is lovely and the room was comfortable, clean and inviting. It really was a beautiful, quiet, tranquil haven in the heart of Essaouira. Everything right on the doorstep, easily accessible by foot. Loved the Spa on site. Hammam was so divine and thorough. Opted for 2 hour Hammam and massage. Well worth it!

GermanyWe were told before arrival that we would stay in a specific room but on arrival were given a different room which was meant to be an upgrade but did not feel like it. Unfortunately the shower drain was blocked throughout our whole stay which meant the bathroom flooded when having a shower. We asked this to be fixed on the first day but nothing changed. By our last day the whole bathroom smelt really bad.
The location is perfect for any wind- or kite surfers as it’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and surf centers. The staff is friendly and the included breakfast was delicious. The highlight is the large roof terrace and courtyard with the pool.
