Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe female only dorm was an open section - no door distinguishing it or securing it. The wall between the female space and the mixed space does not go up to the ceiling so you can hear conversation and snoring from the other side. Basement vibe was odd to adjust to. Bathroom was super frustrating as lights and fans were on extremely short timers. You have to continually dance around to get the lights back on. No other option as this is in a windowless base. Some shower stalls but not all had mold issues. Finally, there was no orientation from staff, you were just sent to the basement with vague directions - turn left for female space (it was not obvious). The big problem was that every single guest couldn't figure out where the lockers are. It would be so easy for the staff to mention that the drawers below your bed don't lock you have to carry you dirty travel bags into your pod, over your lovely, clean bed to the lockable cabinet behind your pillow.
I'm a pod fan so that worked out. Great quality mattress. Decent location.

IrelandIt wasn't the easiest to find the first time, at reception I was given a key and not really explained what it was for then just told to go down the elevator and that was it for the whole staff interaction. My bed was the last in the corridor and when I arrived at 1pm roughly it was almost pitch black near my bed with no lighting until I got into the bed. A guest was also throwing up directly below my bed and his and it wasn't cleaned until at least midday the next day meaning I would have to jump off my ladder to avoid it.
The bed was comfy, the toilets and showers were clean and I liked the private lockers in the bed space.

GermanyThere's no possibility to cook or to clean your clothes. Also the ceiling was leaking when a storm hit Skopje. The toilet smelled a lot like cleaning chemicals.
Nice location in the old Town of Skopje. Boxes to sleep are comfortable and clean

FinlandThe surface underneath the mattress was a bit dirty, looks like they don't clean under the mattress that often. There's no cooking facilities. The lockers don't actually work (they don't lock). The atmosphere of the place was a bit factory-hall-like.
The location is perfect. The capsel-like beds are a nice choice, they give you privacy in a dorm. The staff was mostly friendly. There was free water and coffee avaliable.

NetherlandsThroughout the night, many people check-in and leave, which happens with quite some noise. So if you're not a heavy sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs. The hygiene of the toilets and shower could be better.
It's a very affordable option if you need to stay one, maybe two nights. 24 hours services desk is great for people who need to check out in the middle of the night to, for example, catch their flight.

Czech RepublicThe hostel is underground part of big hotel and that means the helpfull receptionist is always available 😁. The beds are private, good sized and you have yoir own small lockable wardrobe at the back of your pod-bed🙌 . The location is excellent, just around the corner from old bazaar and 20 mins on foot from bus and train station. Thank you 😊

CyprusOn the other hand, is not easy to stay in the room with so many people. Some of them are noisy when they wake up and getting ready to leave. The bathroom/shower area was always wet.
From one hand, I liked the idea of a capsule hotel. The amenities were in a good condition and I liked the feeling of safety that you get for your personal belongings and your privacy. Also, it was a last minute booking.

United KingdomNo atmosphere whatsoever - it's in the basement of a hotel. There is a common room but feels more like a business centre; don't expect to meet people here. It was hot at night. But - if you lift your blind even just half way up it does make a difference.
Great location. Great for a good night's sleep - well I slept well! The double bed in a female only dorm. Liked the conceot of the beds, it was like you were in your own den! Facilities were clean.

CyprusUnfortunately everything was in basement without windows, it didn't have a kitchen, common room wasn't a nice place to relax (feels like the place was abandoned), dormitory can be very noisy (people talking / curtains of each bed).
Value for money! Position close to the center, kind receptionist and a private parking. Mattress was comfy and clean.

MalaysiaThey're probably short of staff because they combined Hotel Koka and Inbox Hostel together. The staffs have no room to breathe having to deal with customers back to back. While waiting at the lobby, I saw 1 staff running around for multiple errands at the same time from sorting out bookings and payments, fixing the printer and showing the guests around. I feel sorry for her. She deserves a raised.
The location is very convenient if you're on a short trip. Bazaar and fortress are a stone throw away. The locker makes everything convenient!

GermanyThe little boxes have these curtains that gives you more privacy but qt the end you don't really have an airflow in the big room where you are going to spent the night in, so be prepared of not the best air ;) For showers and toilets there is one little problem; I don't think that they have a lot of capacity. Out of (let's say) eight toilets and eight showers only two of each of them were entranceable because there was a table in the way to use the others, by that it means either the others didn't worked or they never functioned in the first place.
You are everywhere instantly. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever been in. It is super clean. Wifi worked perfectly. Even though we are in North-Macedonia and in general everything is cheap, the price is really giving more than you pay for the night. For the "boxes" you sleep in there is certainly enough storage for all your belongings and there is even a curtain for more privacy.
