Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBooking exchange rate calculator is terrible -- confirm local currency rate before booking or pay in dollars
Great stay overall. Friendly, helpful, informative staff. Very nice room, 24hr tea/coffee, clean, comfortable, generator on site for power outages. Most amenities on-site -- e-bike rental, taxi hire, information, etc.

United StatesThe view from the roof is nice, however the views aren’t of pagodas. They also didn’t have wine.
Beautiful spot, excellent breakfast, nice pool and wonderful staff. They also have a generator running almost all the time.

NorwayThe roof terrace is the best asset, but there are no views of the river or stupas. The breakfast is pretty decent, and the people working there, and in the frontdesk are polite and serviceminded. Not so impressed by the room or the bed, or even hotel location. Internet is horrible, but parts of Myanmar struggle with that. Also frequently power outages is common. The Bagan area is amazing to explore, I did it on an electric scooter, and a balloon. Consider if you want to stay in new Bagan or old Bagan is my best tip.

United KingdomLiked everything but a couple pieces of advise: Would recommend those staying to pay in USD as the exchange rate is poor in mynmar (3500 to 1USD). Properties in the area suffer with regular power cuts so make sure to charge things over night
Staff are absolutely lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Location is great, Began is a large area so retail of electricic bike strongly recommended - the hotel staff arrange this for you at a good price. Hotel is really pretty and full of plants and mynmar relics. Breakfast each morning is excellent - they will make you fresh French toast and eggs if you ask, elsewise the buffet has a good local range. Also used the hotel restaurant and spa - both highly recommended. Bonus this place has a swimming pool to cool off and relax

CanadaThis property was amazing. The staff were incredible, especially Mr Soe Moe who went above and beyond to ensure that I had a beautiful breakfast to eat every morning as I have allergies that prevent me from eating at the breakfast buffet (which my friends said was amazing!) We got massages and rented an e-bike through them as well, which were great. I can’t recommend this property enough!! The view from the roof is beautiful.

United Arab EmiratesI enjoyed everything.
This is a modern hotel in a beautiful area, in New Bagan. The facilities are great. I loved the roof top breakfast and bar. There is restaurant ‘Basket’ opposite the hotel that serves nice food. Staff is sweet and accommodating. I absolutely loved that they have complimentary coffee and tea and water refill on the ground floor and also there are plenty of books donated by travelers on the second floor and you can sit there and read. The hotel is just as beautiful as on the pictures!

ThailandThe hotel's electric generator was not operational 24 hours per day. The only dinner we ordered at the Basket Restaurant was mediocre, in a hot corner (we had to request they start the air conditioner), with the appetizer served long after the main course. Match
Breakfast was exceptional, the room spacious and immaculate, the staff professional, efficient, and highly responsive. Phoo Phoo, at the main desk, was an absolute delight. Despite her long hours, she always wore a smile and did everything she could to please her guests.

AustraliaI have a big problem with the way I was charged for the room however, the room was booked in USD and when they convert to the local currency (Kyat) they multiplied USD by 2,900 but the actual exchange rate from USD Kyat was 2,100. So instead of $49.00 USD converting to 102,900 Kyat they wanted to change me 142,100 Kyat ($67.66 USD). This is not a lot of money I admit but it is dishonest, they never mention this when you make your booking and I never encountered this anywhere else. I argued the point and they dropped the rate to 2,500 but would not budge on that number and the conversation was difficult with language barrier. Normally I would have left and found another place but it was late, the was a power cut and I was very tired so I accepted 2,500 but gave them no other business. To be fair, I thought the place was good value at $49.00 USD but be careful if you do book with them and confirm the exchange rate or bring USD to pay for your room.
The hotel was what you would expect, it was clean and comfortable and the staff were lovely.

RussiaEvery day you'll have electricity shortages for several hours in this hotel. I just don't believe that there is a hotel in 2023, that can afford to work without electricity. It means no wi-fi, no air conditioning and so on. Staff keeps telling that this is ok to not have electricity in Myanmar, but I was in other hotel, and they solve this problem with power generator. Very bad experience.
