Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesHost (sorry I forgot her name) is amazing, helpful, knowledgeable, kind, attentive. Excellent breakfast, great location -- 2 min walk to boat dock, food, market, etc. Electricity is rare (as of Feb 25) and most places are still recovering from the floods in late 24, and still repairing their generators so plan accordingly. Overall not an issue as you can recharge at night. Host can arrange anything you need and for decent prices -- boat tours, taxis, rentals, etc.

The owner is an amazing woman - she tried to help as she could and she did it - she did everything to make the stay as comfortable as it possible! The breakfast was huge and tasty! Finally, I got fried eggs and fruits at the breakfast not rice or cold noddles as before! The shower was hot hot as I like!!! The room is comfortable and clean! The bicycles at the hostel are free to use at any time! The owner helped to organise a boat tour, buses to Mandalay, money change and with other questions as well! Saudi ArabiaThe hotel is managed by a very diligent lady. She does her work well and gives you excellent advices. You can book your activities in the city with her. I recommend you that if you're going to inle lake as a tourist you could bring some clothes or canned food to give to the people. The situation got bad since the flooding on September, so every help will be appreciated.

United StatesAt the moment they were not able to run the generator yet, so one night there were a few hours that we did not have electricity. But the manager provided portable battery lights for us to use. She still tried to do everything she could so that we would be comfortable.
Very clean. Service was excellent. Property had just reopened after the flooding so we were the only guests for those nights. Manager was ready to advise and assist us to have overall great experience at Inle Lake. Breakfast on the rooftop was very generous also.

IsraelThis is a 25 rooms family hotel, managed by Nway Tun. As soon as you meet her in the reception you get the feeling that this is your new home and almost your new family. Nway and her staff will be there for you with a big smile 24/7. She is great in assisting with planning your local trips based of knowledge only local people have and connecting you with the best providers. She is there to understand what you need before you even say it. The hotel was renovated recently, after the September floods, rooms are comfortable and the breakfast served on the roof is very generous. Location is nearby the big pagoda the river and the location of all the festivals. It is very difficult to translate atmosphere to words so I will just say that if you want to have a unique experience this hotel is highly recommended.

GermanyEverything perfect.
It was a very unusual situation where we got stuck in flood. The owner Nway Nway went above and beyond to make sure that my 9 month old kid and I were safe and cared for. I’ll never forget her hospitality and kindness. The ground floor of the hotel is now damaged and I really wish and pray Nway Nway overcomes the situation and tourists come and boom the economy at Inle Lake.

The staff are absolutely wonderfull. Helpful and always with a smile. The room was huge and spacious and the bed comfortable. On my last day the lovely owner made me a hamburger before my flight back to Yangon. Breakfast was perfect and abundance and gets you through the whole day. Also it is near the jetties for the Inle lake starting point on the boats. Good shops around and restaurants. Markets close by. You must try the winery!!!! Well worth the visit. Thank you to everyone at the Sandalwood Hotel….

Wow, what a great hotel! Where do I begin? - The room - spacious and clean (they clean it every day + folding your cloths...), big and bright bathroom, bottles of water renewed every day, a kettle, safe box and tvt - The unbelievable generous breakfast - great selection - you will not be able to finish it. - The location - less then one minuet from the river, where the boat takes you to Inle lake. Also 3 minuets walk to the night market - Huge beautiful public balcony with a great evening breeze - The family that runs the hotel - unbelievable people - they will take care of you in such a gentle way. They found out I love coffee - so every day they would make me a pot of a filtered coffee and bring it to my room, long after breakfast. - Reservation - they can book a boat trip to the lake, a car+ driver to take you around, and bus tickets to Bagan, Mandalay, etc. - Atmosphere - relaxed, welcoming, Wonderful. Thank you Nway Nway and her family - you are Wonderful :)

United KingdomTruly welcoming hosts . The property is beautifully furnished with attractive features throughout. The room was a very good size for a single and excellent value . The breakfast is almost a banquet. Onward travel and sightseeing trips can be booked directly with the hotel . As there is so much to see on the lake I took 2 trips , it’s an amazing place , full of daily activity from fishermen casting there nets to people tending the floating gardens and given the current political situation there are very few tourists . Their are no security issues in the area ,it is open and waiting to be discovered . The town has many hotels standing empty , when the situation improves you are likely to regret not having visited when Inle lake was at its purist .

IndiaCertain streets looked a bit risky for walking after 8pm. There were a lot of stray dogs around.
Excellent location. Five minutes walking to the night food market. And five minutes walking to the boat area. The staff, even though they did not know English, tried their best to make the stay comfortable. I was there for four days and then my wife joined me and we continued for another 4 days. The owner ensured that we felt at home. She arranged the boats for us, helped us with money exchange, and with the bus tickets. Everything was amazing. Great breakfast. Laundry. Free cycles to roam around. And lots of nice people around. Inle is just getting opened. During our week at Inle, there were just two other guests in the hotel.

Russianothing.
Nice hotel with access almost to the boat station. Large rooms, hot showers, clean, towels changed and cleaning every day. A very hospitable hostess, she speaks English, helped us organize everything we wanted to do on the lake for very good money. She bought bus tickets, despite the evening time, arranged a transfer from the hotel, rented a boat on the lake and a car to Kakku Pagoda. Very tasty breakfasts with fruit and homemade banana muffins, and she also treated us to dinner. When we went for a walk at night (and the streets in the town are not illuminated after sunset), we were given a large lantern for convenience. We felt welcome and were very pleased with our choice of this hotel. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Room spacious and clean. Finally, a quick note for those who are wondering whether to go to Myanmar or not.. My advice - go. We were there several times and we have never felt unsafe. And remember: your arrival can help many ordinary people to survive during these difficult times
