AustraliaThe deposit policy. I don’t have a credit card, only a debit card which works internationally, and the deposit required is $1000MOP per night, so I had to withdraw $3000MOP for the deposit and then got it back on the last day when I’m leaving Macao and have no use for it. I then lose the equivalent of $300-400MOP exchanging the currency back to $AUD at the airport. I can understand taking some form of deposit, but it’s shouldn’t be so high. I travel a lot and when just in China and faced this situation at the Hyatt they waived the deposit requirement, as does Singapore.
It’s a beautiful hotel, nice rooms and good location.

W is fancy wherever you go ! However this new W needs to fix their front desk personnel! I spoke with this young boy on morning of 19 April regarding room 2010 late check out ! He was so rude ! He said No it is not ok ! Have you ever heard hotel staff speak in this manner ? Even if you don’t want to to extend my check out time the politically correct answer should be sorry due to high occupancy we can’t extend the time for you etc ! And not reply in such a rude manner ! Please W train your staff properly

ChinaI booked these two rooms ages ago and requested to be close together. It wasn’t even close at all as we were separated at 2 different elevators! We arrived late, like 7pm already. One of the room wasn’t even ready yet (as 7pm already!!!!?????!!) I can’t imagine if we arrived as normal checkin hours (3pm) how long we would have to wait. I understand that we travel at the busy time, but because we can only do late checkin as the room wasn’t ready, we were asked to finish our other schedules first then come back. When we requested extra blankets after checkin , they said ‘sorry all blankets had gone we couldn’t fulfil your requests’. I was like : ?????? So hard to get taxi since according to taxi drivers, they always forget the interchange of W’s lobby. No staff member was helpful at all. Instead, they asked you to try calling taxi online yourself. If you are a soft bed person like myself, I would never recommend W as the bed was hard as wood board.
The stable wifi was the only thing being acceptable for this hotel during my stay and As we were able to walked to galaxy arena for our concerts

The rooms are special, each room has its own character showing the movie related stuff. Breakfast is very god, many different choices and good taste. Had been upgraded to a very large room, very spacious for compensation for long waiting check-in time and not provided requested consecutive rooms.

JapanIt claims to be a five star hotel but we can’t find any part of the W Macao is five star worthy. The services were horrible, the congestions at check-in check-out periods are always unbearable; the taxis waiting were unbearable; the queuing for breakfast was unbearable and the food were poorly prepared. The light fixtures in the room are sharp edged that are dangerous to people in the dark; the upholstery of furniture were flimsy and uncomfortable. The toilet like most in Macao is without water jet. Our hotel charge included breakfast but we didn’t eat breakfast in all four days we stayed because the long waiting line and/or poor food quality. We wouldn’t stay here again.

South KoreaWe had to wait for our rooms ready for two hours and the connecting rooms were not available even though they asked me to offer them in the first place when i made a reservation. There was very weak but definite beep sound from the wall or a light in the rooms.
Very kind staff. Large rooms and a fairly large gym with free banana and apples. Chromecast was available in the room. Clean and large bathroom. Decaffeinated coffee capsules in the room.

United StatesWhen I went it was 2 months after their opening. The staff were pleasant but not every one was properly trained and had to constantly refer to a supervisor for clarity. The restaurant on the 2 floor where the buffet was had very weird hours and choices as to what was available. Did not end up eating there. All in all, decent but not enough for me to return, nothing special as far as I was concerned.

Hong KongThe location was difficult to be reached out. There is no eye-catching signage to know where W hotel is. The entrance looks like a restaurant! Check-in process is slow, when we checked in at 18:00, the room is still not yet ready and need to wait for 1-2 hours longer.
Buffet breakfast is nice though there are too many guests. The room is spacious enough and overall is clean and tidy.

Hong KongWe went to check in around 5pm, there was a long cue - waited for about 20-30 min and then was told my room wasn’t ready - for another 2 hours. I had an infant and a child so it was quite disappointing. I also heard other guests asking for late check out - and they also agreed - to me it’s more important to get the rooms ready in time then to grant late check out.
Good breakfast, as it was a new hotel everything was very new and clean. Overall, all staff were helpful. But it seems overall a bit understaffed.

Hong Kong- Staff are not attentive, missing requests - Communication is slow, at the bare minimum, and sometimes confusing - Denied one of our guest's breakfast even though it's paid which required resolving through booking platform - You're not guaranteed your selected room type, and expect the replacement room to be slightly downgraded - Be prepared for MOP1000 safety deposit at check-in, to be refunded later - Weird shampoo pumps (turn and press)
