Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The 'chalet' was excellent, well furnished and comfortable with access to 'private' pool. It was also very good to have 'special seating area' and a la carte menu.

CanadaThe beds could be more comfortable, they were small and felt like bunk beds. I also did not like that most of the staff could not speak English and that during the day, the WIFI did not work properly in the rooms.
I liked the proximity to the amazing beach and the beautiful flowers and trees that lined the pathway to the little bungalows. I also liked the proximity of the hotel to shopping, restaurants and most of all to the ferry that takes you directly to Fort de France within 20 minutes for 7 euros return! I was also pleased to see laundry facilities on site.

United StatesThere’s nothing the hotel can do about it but as you enter water there is a ledge in sand which drops suddenly. Easy to get in but hard to get out.
Very cute bungalow style hotel set in a natural tropical garden setting. Had a cute retro feel although facilities were all very modern. Breakfast and dinner buffets, in restaurant overlooking beach and bay, were very good. Boat to Fort de France right there at dock.

FranceThere is no elevator in the Gran Key building (the only building which is not a bungalow) so if your room in on the second floor good luck with the stairs and your luggage ! Staff members are not really hospitable to the guests. They seem somewhat rude and not even smiling or replying you ! Towels are available for the pool and the beach only in the morning time (from 8:30 to 12 ) so if you arrive later you’ll not have them till the next day . Hot water (even warm water) was not available between 5pm to 10 pm.
Swimming pool was nice and there is a direct access to the beach ! Breakfast and dinner were acceptable. Rooms are quite comfortable but need to be renovated and cleaned properly !

IrelandThe food in the restaurant was a bit plain and generally not great. The breakfast was the same every day for more than a week. The most disappointing part was the service in the restaurant - incredibly slow, unfriendly waiters, very inefficient. I would go back to the hotel, but wouldn`t pay for the breakfast and dinner again.
Really loved the bungalows, vibrant colours and the outdoor plants. All was very well maintained. Room was very spacious and was fitted with everything you would need. Cleanliness was exceptional. Also liked the location of the hotel, there are big carparks next to it if you arrive by car.

Saint LuciaRequire a bit of updating in some places. As a vegetarian, dining room should indicate which dishes are vegetarian and also as an English speaker difficult to translate to understand what the dish is. Otherwise food was good.

United KingdomWhen our ferry was changed to a later time and we would miss the last Vedettes to Anse Miton they weren't helpful with information about alternatives. They said get a taxi from the port but there weren't any there and it was only with the help of a port worker who used his phone to find one for us that we weren't stranded. They could have told us that we could get the Vedettes to Pointe de Bout. Taxi was €93.
The adult only Culture Creole with private swimming pool and access to the beach was great. The à la Carte restaurant as an alternative to the buffet. The restaurant staff were very helpful when we wanted milk for tea/coffee in our room as there wasn't any supplied.

United StatesInternet connection was not easy especially for someone who has to work while away. All the hotel and area was without water for some hours, but having lived in the Caribbean we knew how to cope. The included buffet was good but became a little boring after a few days. time to explore local restaurants!
My daughter and I had a wonderful week (May 18/25th) relaxing, and this hotel was perfect for us. The access to the beautiful beach was just a few steps down from the hotel. Ideal for someone not too mobile. Beautiful pool area, never many people in it. Very little English spoken, but everyone very patient with our minor French. We took a car and explored the south and concluded that we were in the best location and beach.

FranceThe food is not bad but it's nothing special and the interior design of the room could be more curated in some details.
The location of the Hôtel Bambo is great: the accomodations are in a wonderful tropical garden in front of the splendid Anse Mitan beach. The bungalow are nice and quite confortable. The staff is really friendly and professionals, Special mention to the girls of the conciergierie!

United KingdomThe internet connection was dreadful. It is not the WiFi, which actually has good coverage but the actual way that devices connect to the internet.
Everything about hotel bambou was lovely - the location is amazing, on the beach right beside the boat arrival at anse mitan. We were there 8 days and, although the format was similar, the food for dinner was different every day. The staff were lovely and, when our rusty French failed us, would speak some English to help us along!

CanadaReception staff, especially after coming from friendly st.lucia, was noticeably cooler. Beach/pool Towel Staff was also cooler and rigid in their rules. Tried to get towels off hours the first day being unfamiliar with the hours and had no luck. Tried to get towels the next day during appropriate hours, but staff was at least an hour late that day for some reason when we had already left the premises and needed them for a day outing Buffet dinners were plentiful, but I’d give them a six out of 10 for flavor, and I’m not a fussy eater. I wrote the hotel in advance, trying to get directions and access from the st.lucia ferry landing. We had no car. I got no response even though it turns out there was a water taxi, strike, which significantly impacted our ability to get around . A response would have been very helpful. Given this water, taxi, strike, I would have thought that the hotel, with service in mind, would have attempted to help those of us who relied on public transit, however, there was absolutely no manifestation of this.
Layout and design of the hotel was to me unique. Beach access was nice.

NetherlandsDue to the large setting, service becomes impersonal and has a mass-produced feel to it. The hotel / holiday village caters to a primarily French audience. The dinners included in the half-board package were mediocre. It seemed overpriced for what you really get.
Hotel Bambou is an enormous hotel and bungalow complex with a variety of services and restaurants including a spa. The facilities are good, everything is clean, and there is access to a private beach. Breakfast was great.

CanadaThe beach chair/umbrella staff were very unfriendly. They seemed more interested in providing chairs and umbrellas to customers who payed rather than the clients of the hotel.
The hotel was conveniently located on a beautiful beach. There was easy access to restaurants, pharmacy, and convenience stores. There was also ample parking available. The breakfast and dinner buffets were also yummy.
