Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

My husband & I have visited Malta several times over the last few years, and I wish we had found this gem sooner. Senglea Suites is in the 3 Cities area of Malta, which is a quieter, more residential area - ideal for us as we did not want the noise of other areas like St Julians. Eric & Michael were extremely good at keeping us updated with the booking as well as during our stay and all the staff were so friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is beautiful, really good sized bedrooms with excellent bathrooms, all areas of the building were spotlessly clean, and there is a lovely roof terrace where we had breakfast looking over the marina everyday. I cannot recommend them highly enough and hope to revisit again soon.

United KingdomI could not fault this place at all, it was perfect.
Beautiful boutique hotel, attention to detail was second to none, Spotless clean, staff were amazing, helped us greatly with our trip, getting taxis etc, honestly one of the best hotels we have stayed at, breakfast was very nice. Hotel location is beautiful, lots of restaurants a short walk away, views from the roof terrace over to Birgu and Valletta were great especially in the evenings. We loved returning to Senglea after our busy days in Malta. The whole place is decorated with great taste!! Well done guys, you have really done a great job of this place, hope to return again some day.

GreeceThere isn't something we necessarily disliked, the only thing I noticed is that the room tends to be a bit moist. But that was only natural, we had that experience throughout the whole island, it's something we weren't used too.
It exceeded our expectations! Staff was super nice and very informative both about our stay and the country (where to go, what to do and how). The room was so nice and cozy it quickly grew to be the highlight of our trip! We were hesitant to book a room in Senglea at first, but it really is very beautiful and quiet with more than 3 cheap options to travel to the capital. After our experience with Senglea's suites, we definitely did not regret it. Our wholesome thanks to the staff!!

AustraliaNothing. Everything was great!
Had a great stay at Senglea Suites! The room was spacious, beautiful interior design and view from the our window was spectacular! Very good communication leading up to our stay. Lovely welcome from Eric on the day of check in. So glad we stayed here rather than Valetta. Lovely to come back to the quiet streets of Senglea at the end of a day sightseeing. Very helpful suggestions from both Michael and Eric on things to do during our stay. Also good recommendations for dining nearby. Excellent service from Niteesh and Francis. The room was spotlessly clean and scrambled eggs were delish!

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn't like, it was amazing.
Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, offering insights into places to visit, how to get there, etc. The room was absolutely incredible, I felt like royalty. They even warned me that this room could be considered 'dim/low-light' but I am a light sleeper and it was perfect for me! The breakfast was among the best I've had in any accommodation, and the rooftop terrace was stunning...day or night! Would love to come back!

This little boutique hotel has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and is situated in a quiet residential area but only 5 mins walk to some great restaurants. The roof top terrace had fantastic views and our room was tastefully decorated. The hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast choice was excellent and could be taken indoors or on the outdoor terrace. We stayed 3 nights before travelling to the North of the Island but wished we had stayed longer and will definitely visit again.

BelgiumThe smell in the room was awfull
Probably the nicest guesthouse I have ever stayed in! Very friendly welcome in a beautiful setting. All rooms have a different but typically Maltese interior. A beautiful glass elevator takes you to the open-air patio and further to the rooftop where you can enjoy an enchanting view over the harbor of Senglea/Birgu. You can even have your breakfast here if you wish. It is located on the hill of Senglea, a three-minute walk from "The Guardiola" where you have a beautiful view of Valletta, with "Upper Barakka" as the main prize. There are currently plans to build an outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast is very basic. We stayed in the room on the ground floor and were bothered by the stench... it smelled like mold/fungus!!!

United KingdomI liked everything.
The warm welcome from all the staff who recognised me from previous stays. The continued hospitality especially around breakfast time with chats with the owners. This is a small hotel so it is nice to feel part of something, like a welcome guest and also see how plans are developing for the future. The location is close enough to access Valetta and beyond but at the same time removed enough to escape the bustle of the busy capital. Enough good restaurants nearby and stunning views both from the hotel roof terrace and a short walk away.

Handsome, spacious and comfy room, great breakfast, roof terraces with spectacular views over the Grand Harbour, and a choice of restaurants down on the nearby waterfront. United KingdomNothing to dislike. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We chose Senglea Suites primarily for its location (near Palumbo SuperYachts), and then from the reviews on Booking.com. It is, without question, the best hotel that we have ever stayed in. A beautifully renovated building with all the mod-cons (including a lift), whilst retaining a traditional feel. There is a roof terrace where you can have breakfast, or take up a bottle of wine in the evening. The owners are fantastic hosts. Nothing was a problem. There are great restaurants and bars within walking distance, and the Uber drivers had no trouble finding the hotel (on arrival and departure).
