All the staff in the Cumberland Hotel and Grana restaurant were very helpful and friendly. Location is ideal for exploring Valletta. Good selection and quality breakfast.

Nothing at all to dislike - if I was to offer any advice it would be to consider adding a little extra to the options to the mini bar in the room (some lovely Maltese biscuits to go with the tea and coffee options would go down very well!).

I have visited Malta a number of times over the years but now I've discovered the Cumberland it will definitely be my 'go-to' property for future visits. Conveniently located in Central Valletta this boutique hotel is within a few minutes walk of all the city's attractions and of the main bus station (where you get anywhere on the island). The rooms are nicely designed and comfortable (with the option of a terrace in some of the suites). What makes the property though is the friendliness of the staff who are on hand whatever the hour to offer advice, help and assistance. The property also offers a lovely breakfast menu catering for all tastes!

Absolutely nothing.

Easy 24hr access. Staff were very engaging and polite every time we entered reception.Local recommendations were excellent. Rooms modern with plenty of storage space and room to move. Location was perfect for wandering around old city.

A little disappointed that the hot tub was unavailable. Sometimes a little noisy but not something the hotel can do anything about as it is in the city centre.

Nothing we didn't like about the hotel. Just that the street outside, it's on a slope and can be a struggle for someone with a big heavy luggage.

The location was great! Surrounded by cafes and shops. Staff on duty was really pleasant. There was a building with eateries and a supermarket nearby. Loved the added bonus of a beautiful attached outdoor terrace.

The double bed was actually two single mattresses pushed together, and there was no mattress gap filler so it was a bit uncomfortable.

The staff was very nice and helpful, the location was perfect. There was complementary access to the aqualuna which made a great pool day for us.

Room with backyard view was a bit darker. Bathroom is very well decorated but sometimes it had a sewage smell.

Great hotel with very professional staff and extraordinary location. Breakfast on the terrace outside, especially in the early morning, is special experience.

The tempature of the shower kept fluctuating between medium hot to super, almost burning, hot. That made showering unpleasant.

Perfect location and lovely terras at the our own room. Would have been nice to if the general roof terrace would have a pool and/or more plants.

The shower was very slippery and would recommend that a shower mat is supplied.

The two-story larger rooms are not really worth the added cost as there is only a second bed and not a seating area. Upstairs is also quite dark. Would stay again but in a standard room. Roof terrace is underwhelming and no good view of harbour.

The staff and Manager were all exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, everywhere in Valletta was a short walk. It was very clean. We had some initial issues with the first room we were given and the Manager didn’t hesitate to move us, we were actually upgraded to a lovely duplex. Good coffee at breakfast. Overall my partner and I had a great short stay at this friendly hotel and would return on future visits.
