Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech Republic2. Meeting with the manager. The next day, the general manager Olivier de G called us into his office for a conversation. There were 2 other men with him who did not leave the office and tried in every possible way to put psychological pressure on us. Instead of smoothing over the unpleasant situation, the manager allowed himself to accuse us of the fact that everything was our fault and there was nothing to swim there (Where is it?) There are no restrictions anywhere where you can’t swim and none of the lifeguards control the beach because... There are none (usually they whistle if they have swum far). The next argument is sharks. Then why weren’t other tourists rescued (it turns out that they endanger the lives of all hotel applicants). When asked how many sharks they have seen here all this time (2 accompanying people answered 0, and Olivier de G. 1 shark once swam here). Next thing we heard, I was drinking and sleeping on the beach!!!! (What is this anyway????) Then strange things happened. Olivier de G. calculated how much alcohol I drank during the day using the hotel system and concluded that I was not sober (WHAT????) They told us that there is a video where you can see how everything happened (but instead they brought some kind of fake). Olivier de G. stated that he interviewed 20 witnesses, but they were nowhere to be found (Apparently they sailed to Madagascar after testifying) Why did they blame us (me and my wife) when they attacked my wife, but at the same time they blamed me (that I was not sober and slept on the beach because it was decided by the general manager who saved from a shark, but only one person, as it turned out ) still I do not understand ??!! 3. All inclusive Attention!!!!! After each wish in a bar/restaurant, they bring a paper for you to sign. We looked at what was put on the list (there was something we had never ordered). Why is this, one can only guess? Unfortunately, I can’t put all the text here
Please take this review seriously!!!! Large text, but anyone (daughter/wife/mother) could be in our place. The bad rating is primarily due to the lack of professionalism of the general manager of the hotel (Olivier de G.) 1. Attack. On the second day of our stay in the ocean (on the hotel grounds) my wife was attacked. She swam to the shore and a boat with unknown men (2 European in appearance and 2 local in appearance) approached her. Under the pretext that a shark was swimming here, they offered to get into the boat, but when they refused, they used force and seriously injured me. Frightened by what they had done, they put them ashore and threatened them with the police (why????). The second surprise was that they attacked a married girl. While the staff was trying to understand what had happened, this man ran up to me and with him was a blonde woman who was watching this from the shore (an older woman) and asked not to touch her husband because... he is good and saved from sharks. After I found out what condition my wife was in at the hotel reception (all her legs were cut up, her arms were bruised), I simply could not believe that this was even possible in a 5* hotel and ran to the beach to talk to him again . At that moment they disappeared along with the woman. When asking the staff who it was, no one answered anything. They said it was from a nearby beach. It turned out that the beach was not guarded at all. We wanted to talk to the hotel management to find out what it was and why it happened.

Czech RepublicWe didn´t like the food at all - both the taste and the quality. Our whole family got a stomach ache after 3 days. There is a large selection of food, but the taste was not our cup of tee.

United Arab EmiratesStandard of food was not great, bar drinks was all local/cheap brands and cocktails are very strong, bad alcohol taste. Hotel is very outdated and needs to be renovated. There wasn't many in-house activities going on. Everything was chargeable and offsite experiences. The onsite entrainment, wasn't great.
The beach area was nice however it wasn't the biggest, the resort is on the wrong side of the island to experience sunrise or sunset. The spa area was very nice, with sauna and steam room with outdoor jacuzzi. In general the staff were pleasant and helpful.

IndiaThe property is well maintained and clean. The check in was smooth and the location of the resort was also fine for us when we booked as we wanted to just relax at the property. Our overall Mauritius stay was disappointing because on day 1 we landed early and as the check in was going to take sometime we were told there’s a Flacq market close by and it would be worth our time. As I’m someone who collects articrafts for our home, I was excited to explore. We were just walking around in the market and there was this table that had bracelets and we just lifted one of them and kept them back on the table. “The guy who owned the stuff just started yelling at us asking what are you doing, why are you touching my stuff, where are you from, this is not your India, go back to your country! Don’t come here! Go away!!” When a westerner did the same thing, he was completely fine with them touching and as I observed from far I saw he didn’t have an issue with any of the Westerns doing the same thing!! I saw him laughing with them, desperately sucking up! What’s worse is we did not see anyone react to him except for one lady who held me and asked me to not mind him and walk away! We complained to the police at the market and he didn’t seem to care. I was shaken as this was the first time we faced something like this after travelling so many countries. We wanted to take an action and came back to our resort and informed the manager. After talking for almost 45 minutes the manager said she’ll inform with the police station and would keep us updated. We checked into the room and went for lunch. We saw the staff greeting the westerners and when we walked past, they did not . We found it strange but let it be. When we sat at the table nobody came to us and then we had to call someone to get cutlery and water who brought cold water. As I was having a bad throat, I asked her to bring normal room temperature water, water that is not cold.

NigeriaI think they can do better with pricing especially with taxis and cost for the tours they arrange... It was overly expensive. A distance of about 10mins was 2000R, I took a trip a day before and the cab coat 1200R and it was even a longer distance. I think paying such an amount for an all inclusive stay should give you some sort of discount. Also a day before my check out date, I got a note reminding me I have to leave by 12pm next day... A few hours later I got a call reminding me again.. I think that is not really good. And then the room I was assigned.. I didn't quite like that d bathroom was small, didn't even have a place to hang sponge or towel
So it's a beautiful place, clean, good Internet and all... Staff are amazing with communication cos most people don't speak English much in Mauritius. Also variety of food to choose from.

SwitzerlandWe booked a "Prestige Beachfront" room. We got a half blocked half garden-pool-beach view room. It definetely shouldn´t be labelled "beachfront" (=directly at the beach). There are two buildings with each four rooms categorized as "beachfront", however, the left building / second row definitely is not beachfront. So you get a 50:50 chance of an actual beachfront room. See picture 1 vs. picture 2. Categorizing the building in the second row "beach front" is simply false and misleading to customers. At the reception, all we repeatedly got was a smile and the answer that "it is category beachfront". Our request to discuss the categorization with a manager was either not understood or not granted. However, after two days of disappointment and no news, they seemingly accidentally encountered us during lunch and told us that we can change to a room in the actual beachfront building immediately.
The actual (see below ) beachfront room is amazing, the beach is clean and white sand, pools and hotel style is wonderful and people are generally nice and putting in an effort. Included in the AI are some brand alkholics, such as Hendriks Gin, some drinks are a bit odd, some are great. The spa is beautiful, and the Sushi Restaurant you get for 1 night per Stay as well as the bento style lunch from them are amazing.

the property is lovely with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. there’s a good amount of pools with a quiet one away from the crowd, as well as a lovely stretch of beach

South Africathe whole time we spent there, we wondered “do Mauritians hate black people?” because the treatment we got from most of the staff members? appalling and disgusting. it’s like we didn’t deserve to be there, like our money is cheap. We asked one of them at the bar if there was a reason she’s treating us the way she is, we got a stupid answer. nonetheless, some were very nice. but service is slow… our bathroom smelt very bad, I’m assuming there was a problem with the drain. Towels for the pool area run out very fast. Didn’t feel like a 5 star at all, maybe a 4.
Loved that it’s all inclusive, so it’s convenient. It’s on the beachfront, loved the facilities, weather and food from the bar which was served from 12:30, the hotdog and pizza were a fave! They also have a wide selection on drinks, which we appreciated. some staff members were accommodating. C Mauritius is a beautiful hotel

United KingdomThe Wok & Roll restaurant was average and slow to serve and prepared food. Over an hour for a bento box. Staff were 50/50 sometimes they were fantastic and other times you felt they didn’t really want to be there and need more training. Towels not being available till 10:00 and having to search around for them is not ideal and could easily be fixed. Reception not answering their phone. Called 6x and answered once. Expect a call back if they can’t answer. A lot of fine details missing, re paint marks all over furniture, marks on walls not cleaning toilets, turn down service at 16:00 and having to ring. They lost our bags and did not put tags on them on arrival, and eventually found them and just left them outside our room b it did not tell us.
Buffet food was exceptional and a great selection is on hand. Just the right amount of variety whilst focusing on quality. Rooms were a great size and beach front view was beautiful to wake up in every day. Was a real all inclusive and the vast majority of items are included, real cocktail making which is always great to see. The water sports available were good. Expect snorkelling to be included like the vast majority of hotels offer.

United KingdomInflexible, especially with food. I was told no to almost every request made or otherwise a huge deal was made about getting a reservation at an empty restaurant (wok and roll)- from which I was ill after. Not great vegetarian options, and unwillingness to alter eg a salad to be made without meat. The food in general was about 3/5 star. Disappointing overall for what should have been a relaxing treat.
Great watersports equipment available included. Nice relaxed feeling and choice with plenty of space for quests.
