Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomit says “premium all inclusive” but it wasn’t premium at all - some cocktails you had to pay for, and if you wanted a coconut it was $7! also, some beach dinners or whatever the resort was planning came at extra costs (we have been to other resorts around the world where if there’s a special dinner it’s for everyone not just people with money). the wifi felt a bit weak at times. the food in the Sunset restaurant or at the dinners they’d organize was sub par. the indian food was tasty, but if that’s not your vibe (my boyfriend doesn’t eat indian or rice) the western food was like, really bad. think undercooked potatoes, dry mashed potatoes, dry fish or chicken, tasteless food overall and poorly cooked cheap beef. the sushi was good, everything else was yucky. the evening entertainment was weak as well - the lady singing had no talent… on Karaoke night i think that a 12 year old girl had a better voice than the resort’s singers. also, the guy with the saxophone that would play in the sunset restaurant or at the themed dinners was… not interesting at all. last but not least, bring water shoes - you’d have a difficult time going in the water without them as there are lots of shells, rocks and weed.
i mean, you can’t argue that Maldives is paradise. absolutely gorgeous location. we stayed in a water villa for 7 nights and it was awesome. super comfy and spacious, with a bathtub and big shower. sun loungers on our villa’s deck were super big and comfy - we actually slept on them a couple of evenings. our butler Suddam and the gentleman cleaning the room (i think it was Abu??) were great. we loved coming to the room and finding little surprises such as a bubble bath, champange or a monkey made of towels :) we also loved seeing lots of fish in the evening from our villa, and we even saw sharks! so cool. the free snorkeling mask was most welcome, as I liked swimming around and seeing all the marine life around our villa and in the water. the dolphin seeing cruise was fantastic, we actually saw quite a lot of them! the sunset cruise was nice, though it could have started half an hour later. the beach bar was great, as was the food they had there. lohi’s bar serves great pizzas and it was cool to see a few people surf (we didn’t dare try it ourselves lol). the boat transfer to and from the airport was quick - 30 mins indeed. gift shop on the island, we bought a couple fridge magnets that weren’t as overpriced as we expected. pool table and ping pong table in the main bar. the beach party night was fun (though at an extra cost)

MalaysiaNothing about not liking but as a suggestion for considerations for the buffet and food menu, maybe its good to have more options of various different cuisines from various different parts of the world. There is a bit of repetition in terms of the food menu which can definitely be improved. Also maybe can also consider adding more local entertainment - connecting to the Maldivian root options during the night for the guests.
Very welcoming staff everywhere and extremely nice ambience. Value for money definitely. Rooms were spacious clean and big. Very happy with the options of the amenities provided as well. Special thanks to Suba, from the front reception, who was extremely friendly from the time we arrived until we left the island. Also thanking our amazing butler, Praveen who has assisted us throughout our stay in the ocean villa.

SloveniaThis resort does not represent the Maldives. The beach is not even close to the others in the Maldives. There is no value for the money at this resort. The excursions they offer are expensive, they do not adjust to the customer or listen to your requests because there are so many guests that everything is on their terms. We wanted to visit the local island - there was only one expensive option for 3 hours, nothing else was offered. The food was very spicy (pepper on everything). We left the resort early to enjoy the real Maldivian flair. We wanted to catch our ride to Male at 4pm, but were told the boat leaves at 5pm. We were able to take a private ride which cost $ 750 USD per person - which is a crazy price for 30minutes ride on a speed boat! . Also the ALL INCLUSIVE menu was nothing special.
The staff in the resturants was nice and kind.

United Arab EmiratesThe staff at the Beach Villa and at Banyan restaurant were not very friendly. They didn't really pay attention to the customer, and were all worried about their schedule. The Staff at the Ocean Villa exceeded our expectation with their hospitality.

United KingdomWe stayed at this resort for seven days and would highly recommend it. Every part of our trip went smoothly and the communication between staff was outstanding. All the staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We would like to say a special thank you to the executive chef Roshan and sous chef Samantha and also Dharam for catering to our dietary requirements. They went above and beyond our expectation and made sure we were looked after every time we dined at the restaurant. We would also like to say a massive thank you to Abu and our waiter Abdullah Jazlaan. Abduallah was always on hand, catering to our every needs despite it being very busy at the restaurant. He also made us feel welcome and was always around whenever we needed anything. These staff were outstanding and should truly be recognised for their exceptional hard work and determination to make us feel very welcomed. We cannot wait to revisit Adaaran in the future.

United Arab EmiratesEverything was absolutely perfect
A fantastic island resort nestled in pure paradise. Beautiful beaches, excellent food and drink options for breakfast lunch and dinner, a variety of activites and trips. Quiet and comfortable, bliss from start to finish. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We stayed in both the beachfront villas and the ocean villas and loved them both equally. Lots of fish and marine wildlife to see in beautiful clear waters. The staff went above and beyond. Very welcoming, friendly and attentive. A huge thankyou to MR ADAMS who was exceptional and looked after us from the moment we arrived, as well as MR SUNDAR who looked after us during our stay at the ocean villa. We could not recommend it more highly. Will be returning without question!

QatarFinance Team - took 2 payments despite me requesting not to. Still awaiting payment to arrive back into my account. Today i have sent information to my bank. Both Mine and my husbands luggage were taken to another room for multiple hours before they found where they were. Drawer was broken in the room. No fruit , Umbrellas on arrival. We had to ask for those. On arrival we were told to go for a snack , we were only offered a few lettuce leaves, onion and tomato. Complained to the manager on site and was offered a free massage. Called for the massage and was offered for 1 person 30 minute foot massage. After speaking to the manager he called the SPA and organised a massage for both my husband and i . This was suppose to be a holiday to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary which i had messaged the island in advance and the evening of our arrival after bitterly complaining about our experience a cake was offered but we declined as we were so stressed by the whole experience. What is not mentioned on the booking site is that one restaurant is only available once during your stay and you can only sit outside if you have a water villa. So actually the all inclusive is not available in this restaurant. It might be worth adding that the Indian restaurant advertised is part of one of the restaurants on site and not separate.
The staff in the restaurant were lovely and Subu

United StatesDolphin Cruise rides arranged by resort lacked safety - they didnt provide life jackets [ it was a very old boat ] and life jackets on board werent easily accessible. The sea was choppy and basic safety was lacking in my opinion.
Staff Butler (Mr Praveen) was exceptional for Ocean Villa - He helped us get all the info and was very easily accessible. Everything we wanted was made easily available - Rooms were great and view was also superb.
