The showers were suppper HOT. As in never cooled down or found a way to cool it down. I decided to ask by the second day and the receptionist had no explanation or interest in my concern. Our 3 year old couldn't shower in it. We adults barely could handle it, even in the humidity. It was humorous, but intense.

Noise from atrium—birds early each morning and shots fired repeatedly early morning when calling people to church.

Would like bottled water in room, birds in atrium were LOUD, shots fired at nearby church calling people to church, bed hard, pillows flat, towels not soft, restaurant not open in evening for dinner, no elevator.

Room prepped daily, fresh towels daily, staff attentive and polite, large jug of water available outside room in corridor, nice plants, good restaurant for breakfast, absolutely beautiful view of ocean and sunset.

The two ladies at the reception were unfriendly every day it seemed, no smiles no greetings..., when we told them were were staying for a long time and could we change rooms, the one said no! not great customer service if they would like good reviews and repeat business.

The grounds keepers and the the cleaning staff were exceptional. The pool was excellent. being right on the beach was very nice.

Two front desk clerks - one we met upon arrival, and another who we met the following day were surly, unhelpful and unsmiling. It would be better if front desk reception staff were trained meter in customer service.

Room, pool area and restaurant were great! The bar server and male manager were welcoming and pleasant, as were the cleaning staff.

There should be a lock on the inside of the Room door so I could control whether or not someone can enter from the outside when I'm in the room. The staff bold faced lied to me one night - kicking me out of the pool at 9:30 pm when the sign clearly stated 10 pm closing (I spotted many people swimming between 9-10 pm on previous nights). It turns out they had already put the chemicals in the pool for the night and both the front desk staff and maintenance staff tried to tell me they close the pool at 9 pm due to Covid. There are no coffee makers or small refrigerators in the room. For the price of the stay these should be standard. I heard from other guests that paid for breakfast to be included in the room that no information was provided to them on check in about how breakfast coupons work. If you pay for this option, make sure you get full instructions from the staff on how it works. The menu choices are limited for prepaid. You are better off paying full mexican price for a good breakfast. There are no extra blankets provided for cooler nights. My friend was given another sheet for warmth.

Breakfast upstairs at Bananas was always delicious and well priced. The pool was very clean and a good size. The relaxation area for guests overlooking the beach was always clean and well kept. Coffee is available from an urn in the lobby in the morning but don't wait too long to get your cup (bring your own) because they only seem to make one pot. Fresh drinking water is available in the lobby as well, be sure to bring your own drinking canisters. The hotel is very conveniently located to all amenities in Barra.
