It was a little bit hard to find the place but I managed.

Black Flamingo was probably my favorite place I've stayed at during my trip in Mexico. The location on Isla Holbox is superb, right next to the main park, 2 minute walk from the beach. All the street vendors are just around the corner. I wish I could have stayed longer. It was awesome.

There wasn't enough of an indentation in the floor of the bathroom so a puddle would form outside the bathroom that could not be cleared because the water would not flow into the drain. It would be nice if there was water for refilling.

Hot water, spacious room, nice terrace, simple kitchen, comfortable bed, air conditioning.

Shower didn't have much power and there was a leak in the bathroom when it rained

Third floor info: Hot water didn't work, AC at coldest setting barely kept the room comfortable. The door locks are the worst I've ever seen, makeshift on a sliding patio door. Can't lock from the inside either, so if you have safety concerns being alone then keep that in mind. No big issue finding and getting here, but it's down a relatively unmarked hallway and tight steep stairs to the top. Was unaware of room service and no door tag to prevent it, was a surprise considering what I had in the room. One cockroach at first entry but didn't see any other during stay.

Location was good and central, place appears modern if you like that. mostly concrete unfinished inside (3rd floor) which should be better for mold/moisture at least.

During the rain water was pouring down from the roof in the bathroom. It was strange that our room was cleaned for 2 times without letting us know in advance. We got our passports and money there.

AC didn‘t really work. Saw a couple bugs/insects over the property, nothing special in the Caribbean tho. Shower curtain not that secure, fell twice but easy to hang up again. Check-In was a little confusing at first, worked out perfectly tho. Entrance a little hidden.

Awesome roof terrace. Great location. Comfortable beds. Great atmosphere in the kitchen since outdoors. Mosquito net at the door. Early check-in for no extra cost. Kitchen well equipped.

I think it might be nice to have an extra secure lock for the door. My TV didn't work but I also only tried right before I was leaving.

Good basic, clean room. Nothing fancy, no lobby but bed and pillows comfy, good water pressure. AC worked fine. Great value! I'd stay there again. Located on the park with taco stands, etc at night. A little noise but nothing crazy. I love being Centro when I visit a place. Short walk to beach too.

would have liked to have a small refrigerator in the room, a broom for the sand we brought in from the unpaved roads, and better internet, but again, this place was great value for the price and I would definitely stay again as a budget traveler.

We were lucky to find this place AFTER having arrived to the island. The location was absolutely perfect, and the unit we had (#3) was quiet at all times of the night and day despite being in the center of town across the street from the central park. The entrance is a long hallway between two businesses so you’ll have to pay attention to see their sign, or just ask someone working around the area where the entrance is. This is not a hotel with a lobby and receptionist to attend to your every need, so I suggest picking up a phone card prior to your arrival (maybe at the airport or whatever town you are coming from), so that you can write to the manager when you get there. They literally answered me in less than 1 minute (on WhatsApp) and we were in our room 2 minutes later using a key from a lockbox. The room/bathroom is exactly as advertised and the AC was adequate for the room size so the temp stayed perfect. Great find for the price.

Hotel can be very difficult to find, especially if you arrive during a tropical storm. For quite some time, I couldn't get in contact with the hotel for directions.

However, being very central the property is extremely noisy. You can hear all of the music playing outside and there is a dog which was constantly barking right under our bedroom. They only gave us 1 towel each for the three nights we were staying there and when we asked for more they only gave us a small hand towel as no others were available.

The property is very easy to get to from the port. It is only a 10 minute walk so you do not need to get a taxi. It is very central with alot of restaurants close by and other amenities. It is also close to the Holbox beach. The owner of the property was very helpful and polite. The bed is very comfortable and hot water was always available.

Great spot! We weren’t bothered by noise at all (slight concern after reading other comments), and the bed was very comfortable. We only stayed two nights but wished we had stayed longer!

There is a restaurant below that turned into a DJ club one night. The room shook until 215am. No sleep and a headache for the next day. Not the hotels fault at all....but I would have liked to know that.

Only one thing I didn’t like was that the Wifi didn’t work at all in the room, only outside. Also hot water in the shower didn’t work, but for me it’s not a big deal as I usually take cold showers when it’s hot.

The location was very good, you have everything around you and the beach is a short walk away. Place was clean and had all I needed for a comfortable stay. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean.

As I said above, the first room we got was a catastrophe. It needs some serious renovation or otherwise don’t put people in there. The kitchen was okay but for example didn’t even have a pot and no knives. It still worked for us but would be nicer to have more utensils.

First things first: there are huge differences in the rooms. At first, we got one room that smelled so much like mold I couldn’t even breath. You could literally see the mold in every corner and the view out of the room was straight onto a construction. We immediately called the owner and he offered us another room which was on the highest floor. Honestly, I have nothing against this second room to say. It had a very nice bathroom, AC, and right outside was the kitchen. There’s also daily cleaning service which was nice. The owner was quite nice, always reachable on WhatsApp and sent us a lot of recommendations in the beginning.
