Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLikes- beautiful room and facilities. The restaurant was good for breakfast/lunch and the yoga/ instructors are wonderful. Disliked- being in the park we had to pay a day pass every time we came and went. This should be arranged with the hotel. The bike rental was not available due to maintenance issues.

United StatesThe cost to get into the Jaguar park was more than the website stated.
Location and room were amazing! We did notice however that most of the outdoor shower was visible from the path.

GermanyThe bed was a bit small and there is not that much space, but therefore it’s beautiful. There aren’t enough sunbeds so you had to be lucky to get one. Also there were not so many group activities on Sunday, you might consider this if you want to take part in a ceremony for example.
This place is amazing and makes you feel very connected to the nature and the animals there. Service is also friendly and helpful, the beach is beautiful and the food really delicious.

United StatesThe location is inside a national park, so you have to pay to get in and they'll check your bags for plastic items/booze that they'll throw away. Keep your wristbands on they give you so you only have to pay once if you leave the park and come back. PRO TIP: If you leave the park, come back after 5pm. The park closes at 5 so if you go in after they'll just check your hotel reservation and you can bring in whatever you want/not pay again. It's also pretty far from central Tulum so having a moped/transportation is highly recommended.
Beach location and how awesome the Mayan Plunge suite is.

United StatesOur only comments are that the bed was sinking quite a bit in the middle, which didn't let us sleep very well, it could use a change. And that the hotel's restaurant, although everything was truly delicious, it was very expensive compare to everywhere else. Since there aren't many options around without having to go to the center or the hotel zone in a taxi, we ended up spending quite a bit there. If you do though, order the tacos gobernador, so amazing!
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at! We rented the Mayan cabin with private pool, and it was stepping into a little paradise. It's full of trees, and little animals, and so incredible! Since it's in a national park, it's very quiet and natural all around, it was exactly what we wanted and more! You can just walk to the ruins, and along the beach. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family!

IsraelThe details given aboit the stay in the hotel beforehand lack important information about exsecive taxing when going in and out of the park, which evantually made us stay at the hotel more than we planned and postpone activities in the area. The yoga classes were great but you get only one for free when usually these activities are free of charge especially in this price range. The hot water in the shower werent that stable.
The cabines on the second floor was really cozy and well designed, great view and really special atmosphere. The food in the restaurant on the beach was good but a little overpriced.

CanadaThe bed was a bit soft for me but I do like a very firm bed. The food was just okay. We ended up venturing off resort to nearby places for better food.
Superb atmosphere. So quiet and relaxing. We loved the privacy in our little compound. It was so nature filled. The staff were amazing and so helpful.

CanadaI would prefer breakfast to be included. I feel the hotel restaurant is a bit overpriced, and several items on the menu were out of stock for the entire five days, such as fries, pancakes, and octopus, even though they were listed on the menu :) Additionally, the menu was not very extensive. There were no pizza or pasta options, and when you travel with kids, food is something you may need to explore at nearby beach restaurants.
We stayed in the Mayan Plunge room and had an additional mattress for my kid. The staff was really helpful. The hotel is located in a national park, and there are free shuttles within the park that take you to the ruins. The rooms were clean, and there were clean water tanks available for refilling water during your stay. The place is really calm; we stayed for five nights, and there was only one kids' yoga session during this time, but that was okay since our main focus was not on the kids' club :) Additionally it seems they are building a kids area. I believe it will be better when it is completed.

Czech RepublicThe people from the bungalow next door could see right into our shower, so we could only shower when they weren't there. Communication with the reception only via whatsapp, cause no mobile signal. No laundry service. The bed was so small, that we didn't get any sleep at all. Biggest problem is location. The hotel is located inside the national park, so getting into it was a problem every day. You always have to pay a lot of money for entry and you are not allowed to arrive later than 5PM, cause big problems to get inside. You are absolutely cut off from everything and security always searches your backpacks to see if you have any drinks etc.
Beautiful environment, everything designed down to the last detail in a natural style. All food and drink was a gastronomic experience. Wifi worked perfectly throughout the area.

AustriaFor the price I would have expected a little more. Maybe offer a discount for guests at the restaurant and more activities included or free drinks at the minibar per night

SloveniaThe hotel is located within a national park, which can sometimes bring inconveniences, such as paid wristbands required for entry and exit from the park. A bit bothersome are also the strict security checks by the rather unfriendly national park staff.
The hotel is in a stunning location right by the beach and not far from the Tulum ruins. It is beautifully maintained and ideal for relaxation, introspection, meditation, yoga, and various workshops—a great space for retreats. The food is good, and the staff is friendly. Staying in a private enclosed courtyard with an outdoor shower and toilet is a wonderful experience. Complimentary water and coffee are available.

CanadaThe hut we got were so lovely but the beds are quite small, the bungalow was full of dust and perhaps I recommend a nice fragrance when you first arrive. As the hut can smell musty. Not a great first impression, upon arrival. The down pillow was lovely and all the bedding were nice and very comfortable. Although the down pillow had a smell that was not pleasant.
Awesome vibe, fantastic food and excellent service from the wait staff. Although I recommend more staff. The Afro dance was excellent.

SpainThe restaurant is quite expensive (but it was delicious) and taxis are also pretty expensive. There are some nice restaurants you can walk to though ! (Mezzanine the Thai restaurant is GREAT!)
This place is super cool ! Accommodation is literally right on the Paraiso Beach which is just beautiful. We stayed in a room with the shared bathrooms and they were kept really clean, didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. We had a free yoga class (you get one per stay!), there’s cute stalls selling clothes and jewellery, and we got to watch the most amazing sunrises !!

United KingdomThe prices are American. It felt like I was in Miami. The food was average and very very expensive compared to prices we paid elsewhere in Mexico, including Holbox. I had an unpleasant exchange with a waiter who was really pushing for a huge tip on a very expensive meal. We have left almost 500 pesos but he wanted 700. I felt pushed for tips everywhere. The hotel is located in the middle of the National Park so there is a fee to pay on entrance, every time you enter the park. The hotel message stated that it supposed to be 61 pesos per person but we paid 415 per person each time we entered the park. Having said that, I would totally do it again for the stunning beach.
This is a very instagramable hotel and the location. The settings are stunning. The bathroom outside looks really cool and it is actually fun taking a shower in the middle of the jungle. The toilet was less practical if you need to use it at night. Yoga class I took was exceptional - ashtanga on Friday morning. One complimentary yoga class per stay.

AustraliaThe service standard was poor. Everything was expensive and there was a constant push for high tipping from staff. There were also small things that just didn’t work, like the Nespresso machine in our room, and the WiFi (which was important as there is no phone reception). The lack of insulation in the rooms/cabins meant you could hear the people in neighboring rooms into the early hours of the morning - doing whatever they wanted to do. (Loudly).
It was insta worthy…. Cool set up looked fancy. The beachfront location was great.

Costa RicaI would have rated this hotel a 10 but unfortunately we experienced something unpleasant not necessarily at the hotel per se. Since the hotel is inside the National Park, all vehicles have to pass by security (which is not supposed to be bad). We understand that you're not allowed to bring any plastic bottles, etc. that can pollute the place which is fine. However, our guide then has a cooler in his van and was asked to leave it with the security as he enters the area and was told he can just retrieve it when he get out. They did not have any storage area (which is probably ok) at the entrance, Though the guards told him a disclaimer that it's not their responsibility to watch over that cooler (our guide literally just spent 5 minutes inside just to drop us off), i don't think it's also right that it has been "stolen" at that given time frame. it was around 7pm that time and the guards are the only ones there. So yeah, just a little bit disappointed about those guards. I know it's not the hotel's responsibility directly but such behavior can affect the entire place's image.
Very nice location. The hotel staff are nice. The beach is also nice. The Tulum Ruins is literally just walking distance. Our room was unique in a good way. totally gives you a different vibe than a normal hotel.

CanadaOur room was a little cold at night, could have done with another layer on the bed instead of just a sheet. The restaurant was more expensive than others along the beach, but not by too much.
Our room was less than a minute walk from the beach, we could hear the ocean at night which was very soothing. The rooms are like teepee tents and they really added to the aesthetic, they were very spacious. The shared bathroom area was really nice and kept very clean The staff were really friendly. The hotel restaurant was located right on the beach and offered nice views of the sea, they had live music in the evening. There was a separate coffee/matcha bar too. There was yoga and other sessions available

United StatesWe had sewage smell issues during our stay, which the hotel manager compensated us for. Service at the restaurant could be improved. It’s on the pricier side.
Beautiful chic beach resort with a good restaurant and laid back yoga vibe. Room was beautiful and well appointed. Beach is wonderful and lots of nice touches. Front desk was for the most part super attentive and helpful. We had an issue with some sewage smell that the staff were able to compensate us for, other that that issue it was wonderful.

SwitzerlandIt’s hard to find available sunbeds or tables. Maybe more should be added? Main issue: we booked a taxi at checkout to the bus station. The reception advised barely 5 minutes extra time because they promised the taxi would be punctual. We anyways booked it with 20 mins to spare. Despite that, the taxi basically never showed up and the reception did nothing to help us except say they were sorry. Because of this we missed our bus to Valladolid and had to pay another one - with no one accountable for this!! If the hotel offers taxi bookings at checkout (as is standard practice) they should make sure to reserve reliable taxis that are there on time. And they should take on responsibility for this. Imagine if we lost our flight instead of our bus connection….. Also, very high price for the quality of the rooms. They were great, but the price was too high.
The location is stunning. Beautiful waters and the sunbeds are amazing. The whole common area is just perfect!!
