Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanThe common areas are not non-smoking. There is no water for the sink in one of the two washrooms.
The location is its greatest advantage as it's super close to the ADO bus terminus Cancun.

GermanyWhile there are nice shared places I found the dormitory really small. I didnt know where to put my stuff. Also the beds could use a makeover. I slept in the upper bed and the ladder just wouldnt stick so I had to climb from the lower bed. Wasnt a big problem though as everyone was easy going.
Very familiar atmosphere, really nice and helpful owners and staff. It's a private house used as a hostel. Also a good location near a little park where you can hear the birds in the morning. Close to the center and still very quiet.

United KingdomGrace is a wondeful caring host, very quiet area opporsite a small park, 10 minute walk to catch the R1 bus to the hotel zone, ADO station is 10 minutes walk, not a party hostel which I prefer, Mitchy the Cat is social and playful. There isn't a sign, but the Booking.com map puts you right outside (No 12). Nightlife is two streets away, Soriana and Chedraui are 10 & 20 minutes away. Thanks Grace & Angie. Xx

United StatesThe beds were either lumpy or too hard. The sinks and toilet were in disrepair.
I liked the quiet location far enough away from main streets. I loved the staff. Very friendly and helpful..I liked the coziness and open kitchen and dining area.. I liked the smaller number of people so not so overwhelming. When we had problems with the plumbing they jumped on the problems. Kept the place clean.

United KingdomThe main area of the house didn’t have air conditioning The air conditioning in the room was dripping water all night and we kept having to put towels underneath it
It’s basically a giant house and if you book a private room and no one is in the room next to you, you basically have the bathroom to yourself The woman who owns this place was lovely and very easy to talk to - she spoke both Spanish and English - and we could easily tell her if we had a problem and she would help us sort it There is a housekeeper who cleans the rooms the rooms everyday. There’s free street parking outside The room has air conditioning WARNING: There is a cat that lives here - we personally love cats and this was a benefit for us however if you are allergic I would not recommend staying here Very cheap for what it is!!!

GermanyThe kitchen was sometimes very dirty and messy because some of the guests didn’t do their dishes. There were some weird other guests but we were only there for two nights so it was okay. On the bedsheets there were some stains.
We liked the Air conditioner because in cancun it is a must. Also there was free drinking water available, which was really convenient. We also liked the location. One day we made a trip to Puerto cancun which is very close by. Gaston the owner is really kind and helps you if you have problems. He speaks some English too.

GermanyThe location was great! Right in front of a small park. The hostel was cozy with a large kitchen and a very comfortable lounge. The owner was so sweet, we had a great time. I would book the hostel again anytime, especially because it is a quiet corner in Cancun. We loved it

NetherlandsThe matras felt plastic. Wasn’t very comfortable. Lots of hair in the bed that were not mine… Had some problems with the shower. Other than that, it was all good.
10 min walk from the ADO station. Friendly host. Booked a dorm and had a room to myself. Lots of facilities in the kitchen. Free water. Aircon and fan in the room.

GermanyIt was hard to find, the only sign of the hostel being there was a small ceramic orange in a pot in front of the door. Bathrooms could be improved.
It was close to the ADO Busstation. Instead of two bunk beds, we got a double bed in a free room.

FranceThere's nowhere to put your stuff or bags, barely enough space to walk between beds. There's no lockers, no keys to your room and the main door is open all day. Wouldn't feel confortable leaving anything. The bathroom felt quite gross.
Close to ADO bus station, that's all I asked for. Welcoming and more personal owner than most place around here

HungaryI had the most wonderful stay at this hostel, and I highly recommend it, especially if you’re traveling solo in Mexico. The hostel is run by an incredible Argentinian family—Grace and Gaston—who are truly the kindest, most welcoming hosts you could imagine. I was so lucky to meet them as soon as I arrived in Mexico. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home. On Christmas Eve, they hosted a beautiful celebration with their family and all the guests, and they invited me to join them. It was such a warm and heartfelt experience with amazing food and great company—I can’t thank them enough for their generosity. The hostel itself is great value for money : it’s clean, well-located (8-10 min walk from ADO, R1-R2 buses. The beds and pillows are comfortable, you get a towel and there’s even an extra blanket in case you feel cold. The bathrooms, which are shared, are regularly cleaned, and I always got hot water to shower. The kitchen is well-equipped, with everything you need to prepare coffee or meals, and they even provide drinking water. Also, they were so kind to store my travel bag while I was away from Cancun. It made my travels so much easier and is just one example of how thoughtful and accommodating they are. A huge thank you to Grace and Gaston for making my stay so memorable. I’m sure we’ll meet again someday! This hostel is truly a gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Cancun.
