Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germanynothing, absolutely perfect!
This place is a hidden gem in Coba! Its unique and lovely in every detail! The rooms are spacious and perfectly equipped with mosqutio protection so you can enjoy sleeping in a jungle house to the fullest! besides the sound of birds and other animals it’s very quite. The bed is big and super comfortable! Probably the best about this place are the hosts and staff, everyone is so friendly and lovely! They help you with everything, always make sure that you have everything you need to have a good and relaxing time! We loved the Margaritas they mixed for us and the food (especially the breakfast) was also good! I definitely recommend to stay at Jungla y Estrellas if you wanna visit Cobá or even when you are on a journey through that area.

United StatesAs previously mentioned, if you are looking for privacy, this probably isn't your best option. Staff do their best to protect your privacy. Also, the thatched roof might drop some small crumbs on your bed that you'll want to dust off or get new sheets.
This is a little like a "clamping" experience. We loved the staff. The Mayan "open slat stick building" design was not conducive to privacy. When we no longer had a couple staying in the room next to us we felt more at ease and slept better. It is close to the Coba ruins, The Wildlife Reserve, and if someone wanted to go into the Tulum or other coastal tourist areas it's a short drive. You get a private bathroom but you have to go down outside-the-building stairs to access it. It's a really fun place to stay, has a nice pool and patios, it's quiet and has good breakfasts.

Jungle and Stars, what can I say. The aesthetic is beautiful. Rustic but chic. Palapa roofs, elegant wicker furnishings, hammocks, chilled vibes. Hector and Alfredo are perfect hosts. Coba is magical. The least touristy place we’ve been to in the Yucatan. There were no down sides. You're sleeping with nature, it’s noisy but to us, a wondrous experience - the chicadas chirp, the birds sing sweetly, the frogs ribbet, the cockerels crow. A top, once in a lifetime, experience. Thanks guys for having us, you’ve created something very special.

The atmosphere is great to unwind! We really enjoyed the facilities. The room was massive and bed was comfy! Food and wine was great and of course, Alfredo! He was such a friendly host! He really looked after us (and all the guests!), gave us tips and made us feel at home! The pool was perfect!

Amazing hospitality. Nice courtyard/garden with pool. The owner tries to arrange everything for you. If one doesn’t miss 5 Star “luxury” like tv and aircon its paradise. Since the accommodation is in an rural area you’ll have to sleep with all this typical noises. Light sleepers better use earplugs. We had no problems.

United StatesFor some, the openness of the rooms (not a solid wall all the way around) might be an issue. I, however, had almost no problem with bugs and such. Noise would travel easily but there were not many other guests while there and I had no issue at all.
Run by a really exceptional group of people. The central pool area is an oasis and a really nice place to lounge. I’d even recommend staying an extra day to relax here, if your schedule allows it. I also loved the rooms - a comfortable bed and a couple hammocks - very spacious.

United StatesIt was a little rough to be without water the first night when the water tank was used to fill the pool - especially considering the heat - but the hosts did a lot to make up for that. It seems like that is not a frequent occurrence, so most people shouldn't worry about it.
Wow - this place is quite an exceptional experience for either a family trip or a romantic getaway. I highly recommend taking a couple days away from the more touristy areas to relax in these jungle huts by a pool filled with cool water from a cenote. The rooms are spacious, the food is delicious, and the people are so warm and friendly.

BelgiumEverything was excellent!
By far our favourite accommodation in Mexico! I only wish everyone reads the description carefully to avoid any surprises - it is located near the jungle. There are technically no walls, but walls constructed from trunk trees with an insect net everyone (we had no issues with bugs or mosquito). It means you are fully immersed in the sounds of the jungle at night what is a great experience. Bathrooms are on the ground floor whereas the rooms are on the first floor. The staff is amazing, attentive and gives you space. Food was good, but smoothies deserve a separate acknowledgment! They also provide for free yoga mat, some weights, bikes and umbrellas on the site. If needed, they also drop you off for free with their car to the bus station in Coba.
