Nothing on Riu, but Booking.com mentioned $950 credit to be used at the resort. This was not a lump credit, but individual credits for services. I find this misleading and could of booked through Riu and have free transportation from the airport to hotel.

Would like to see a bathroom closer to the beach. More people walking around the beach to serve drinks/water.

As someone with dietary restrictions, I like the number of restaurants and the buffet. All buffet items tell you about allergens and the staff is able to make a meal in a way you can eat it. I also liked the themes of the pools and the aqua aerobics! My friends and I also enjoyed the nightly entertainment. Well done!

fire alarm went off around 1 am and all guests had to go to the lobby (false alarm). you have to pay for each time playing snooker. massages were extremely expensive.

the breakfast was amazing and very much enjoyable! The restaurants on the resort is good as well, they do have some great options to choose from. They have some entertainment going on through out the week which is nice and interactive.

When we checked in, we were told we were getting a room upgrade from the Queen Garden View we had reserved; we were happy until we got to the room--it had two double beds, no view, and smelled quite musty. After one night, I looked at my reservation info and decided they had actually downgraded us from what we were paying for; we went to the check-in counter and politely told them the situation. They didn't apologize but they did put us in an appropriate room (with the bed and the view we'd paid for) within six hours. The Sports Bar is a bit of a joke. There are several TVs and the A/C in there is fantastic, but the "24 Hour Snacks" are pretty gross--random sandwiches, stale chips and gross cheese, and some baked goods leftover from breakfast. They should serve fresh fruit and leave it at that.

The Riu Latino is a great hotel! It is IMMACULATE. Every part of the huge resort is clean. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and friendly, especially the bartenders & food servers. The buffet was great; I'm a strict vegetarian & I had many options at all 3 meals. The other restaurants are fine--nothing great but not bad either. There is no longer an app reservation process; now you wait (with a buzzer) at any bar you like and the buzzer lights up when your table is ready. I recommend you go to the restaurant 20-30 minutes before you want to eat, as we did have to wait for a table at both the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant. The buffet gives you the most options and the best timeframe, in my opinion. Be sure to try the ice cream--at lunch and dinner--and the pineapple--best pineapple I've eaten in my life! The pools and outdoor areas are super clean; there are employees everywhere in case you need anything. Most of the staff speaks English really well, especially the customer-facing staff. Some of the bars have better liquor/wine options than others; for example, on our second day we realized the swim-up bar had Tito's vodka but it was under the bar instead of on display. All of the bars had different wine options, which I found odd and slightly annoying. So just ask for what you want and try a different bar if that one doesn't have it. Bring singles and five dollar bills for tips. Also, bring a travel mug--all the bartenders will make your drinks in them and this prevents multiple bar trips and also keeps the ice from melting immediately in the heat. The evening activities are amusing and sweet. There's something happening on the main stage area from 8-11 PM nightly, including quiz games, musical acts (ex: ABBA show), karaoke, live music, silent disco, etc. The pools are closed at night so after dinner, many people hang out in the big amphitheater and watch the shows, as there's not much else to do.

The hotel don’t provide toiletries which was a surprise for me because they are supposedly a 5-star hotel.

Nice hotel with new facilities, very clean rooms and public areas, and very kind service. The buffet is very high quality, with a variety of options for everyone. The beach in Costa Mujeres is beautiful and very quiet because is far away from Cancun’s touristic zone. The entertainment team is amazing.

The resort credits are just discounts or coupons and they are not worth anything on their own. The main buffet was good but the restaurants were mediocre.

The hotel is very loud, many people everywhere and a lot of alcohol... sometimes people were loud next to my room until 3 am.. i used earplugs but still even during the day it was a little tiring that all the time there were noises on the corridors.

I liked the beach even though it was a little narrow for me. The room was comfortable, the bed too. The pillows not so good. The food was ok, service was very nice and friendly.

Everything was 10/10 but the food. It was a letdown. It was bland and unimaginative. We considered living the resort on day 3 as we couldn't bare eating the same food again.
