Eventough the property was well kept, It could get a revamp to give it a more modern look. Also, I don’t mind animals around, however, I think they should be kept away from the night refrigerator and bar area.

The property was clean and peaceful. The food was good quality and there was a good variation everyday. The landscape makes the hotel very peaceful and the service was also on point.

Room is not very sound proof, if the neighbors are on TV, , one got it at the same time

Very clean and pretty environment, with tropical animals near by, it's isolated world from playa de Carmen, they offer everything inside and full of activity program, on the beach kayak and panel are offered for free! There are snorkeling service of course with 5 star price as well!

The bus is stricly required to reach the beach, but there are lots of them during the day and the trip is only 10-15 minutes.

Optimus quality/price index. The main restaurant buffet variety was good. Beach and pools relaxing. Good also for family with children. Possibility of late check-out at an acceptable price

I didn’t like that the property felt more like a “hotel” than a resort - I didn’t like that the rooms were not welcoming. I also think having 1 towel per day is absurd as it rained two of my days and the towels got soaked and I was stuck with them - stupid concept.

The vegetarian options were disappointing, not only that, sometimes some items had cross contamination with meat-dishes or were incorrectly labelled as vegetable-based. The air conditioning in the rooms kept operating intermittently, which was very annoying at night and didn’t allow for a good night sleep.

The hotel is a bit dated, but it compensates with cleanliness and how friendly the staff is. Food was always fresh and never felt stale. Drinks were generously prepared.

My room was very close to the stage/bar area and the one evening I didn’t feel well I couldn’t go to sleep early because of how loud it was. Minor thing for me but if you’re one to go to sleep early ask for a room further away.

This is a fairly small property with a significant distance to the beach that can be easily dismissed. But what they don’t have is exceptionally made up in other ways - the staff are awesome! EVERY SUNGLE ONE OF THEM. They work hard to make your vacation memorable. Shout out to Marco who always knew to pour a glass of vino tinto for my husband and just water for me. And Gabriela who cleaned our room beautifully. And the crew removing the pesky nest from our balcony. And the front desk for curtesy calls asking if there’s anything we need. I mean, they go above and beyond. And the entertainment- I stayed in multiple adults-only where the entertainment ended at 9-9:30pm with nothing else to do. These guys entertain you till 10:30 and all of it was really good! Transportation to-from the beach (and 5th. Ave) is always on time and very reliable. The Riu Lupita beach is just breathtaking with enough beach chairs for everyone.

The Italian restaurant was not that good

Everything was great. The room was very nice, the staff was exceptional. The location gave easy access to the Playa Del Carmen shopping area with restaurants & bars. You can reach their beach in a short 10 minute ride & there is a bar/restaurant right on the beach. On my wife’s birthday they decorated our room for her, extra nice.

Security of Playacar was a bit aggressive. I would've liked for more direction on arrival or for an airport shuttle. Getting from the airport by bus, or airport shuttle is a bit confusing and upon reaching out to the hotel didn't hear back.

The warmth of some of the food could've been better.

RIU Lupita was very nice. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. Location was good, great food, all the activities were lovely, and cleanliness was up to par.

Nice facility, good food and huge variaty of foods in different restaurants. Quiet area. Wildlife (raccoons everywhere and they are really cute)
