Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe breakfast starts at 08:00 and with a jetlag in mind it would have been appreciated if we could had have something earlier in the morning. The roof terras could have been better equipped and accommodated to have some drinks or other ways. You can taste and feel that the hotel is mainly visited by Europeaan and US visitors. The food and the restaurant options you get are more international than I prefer as I'm a hard core Mexican lover. But maybe that is a matter of taste :).
The hotel has a classic hacienda atmosphere with a beautiful courtyard that breaths peace and tranquility. The staff is dedicated, professional and kind. Perfect located in the centrum of the city.

United KingdomWould have been great to have had a coffee maker in the room. The lighting in the room could be warmer.
Location was perfect for everything. The hotel is beautiful and such good value for money compared to other much more expensive hotels nearby that my friends stayed at. The staff were wonderful and welcoming and helped with all of my requests including arranging a last minute dress dry cleaning!

United StatesThis has nothing to do with the hotel, but Oaxaca state was experiencing a serious drought during our visit. Drinking water was very precious, but if we needed more than the bottles provided in the room, we could always ask, and the staff managed to find some for us. Thank you, everyone, for making our stay so nice.
The breakfasts we enjoyed were delicious, with very good food and reasonable prices. There is a coffee shop at the hotel, so you'll receive your coffee order made by an excellent barista. The freshly made fruit juices are a delicious start to the day as well. Staff is excellent. Although the hotel is just a few blocks from the bustling zocalo (center of town), the inner courtyard and peaceful rooftop garden are lovely, cool and quiet. You will wake up to birdsong, not the noise of traffic! The front desk staff is friendly and will cheerfully help with everything from taxis to laundry service to recommendations of places to eat or visit.

United StatesAs mentioned before, the hot water ran out when showering, but not sure what could be done about that. It was a fantastic location.
Hotel Siglo was half a star short of perfect. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff is amazing, the manager, Adrianna, helped us arrange transport and a private tour. Our drivers were a wealth of knowledge about oaxaca and its history. The location could not be better, walking distance to the mercados, zocalo, cathedral, museum and so much more! Despite its centralized location it was very quiet. We met the owner who took time to show us around and tell us about the hotel. The hotel restaurant was perfect for breakfast. The only drawback was the lack of hot water. We brought it up to mgmt and the checked, but it did not resolve the issue of the hot water running out. So, we improvised and took quick showers. Overall, I'd highly suggest this as a place to stay!

CanadaStaff was outstanding. Liz, Paola and Patty went out of their way to support and inform us, from the front desk. The cafe staff were also so kind and helpful. Leslie was the best server ever. The ladies in the kitchen were transparent in the fresh and tasty food they prepared. And the coffee shop made THE best coffees. The courtyards were beautiful - peaceful and quiet. The upper level terrace was the highlight. While the pool itself was very cold (although beautiful), the terrace area was large and sunny and peaceful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Our room was quite dark - the small window opened to the hallway surrounding the courtyard - so there was little direct sunlight in our room. The floors and bedding were dark so the room felt dark and cold at times. Overall I would definitely stay again. The hotel is so central and so hospitable - it’s a hard act to follow.

CanadaNot that big of a deal but we did think we were getting two bedrooms with a sitting room. We did get two bedrooms but no sitting area other a chair in each room. I had to pass through the room shared by my daughter and her husband to get to the bathroom so I had to be careful about their privacy. Not expected, but not that big of a deal for us. but it could be for others. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We loved the hacienda style of the property and the inner courtyard is like a little oasis in the Centro region. The rooftop area gives you a panoramic view of the area and church towers. The rooms are really pretty and are comfortable. Everything was very very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Despite planning to try breakfast at different places, we ended up eating there everyday. Most of all, the staff are absolutely wonderful. Adrianna helped us arrange rides and tours and is so pleasant. She really made the trip special for us. Restaurant staff are patient with English speakers - mucho gracias!. And the lovely woman cleaning our room gave us extra bottles of water to take with us on our walking tour. We were aware that sometimes there can be no hot water in Oaxaca and we thought this was true for us on the first day, however every other day the shower was nice and hot. By the way, the bathroom was nice with a big walk in shower with a rain type shower head.

United StatesThe only thing I didn't like was that the light in the bathroom has a fan, and it's quite loud. It would be nice to have a light for those who wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

United StatesThe pool was far too cold to use. That was a big disappointment to our 9 year old. The hotel staff, at my request, made dinner reservations and communicated those to us pre-trip. As we traveled over the holidays, we encounted on New Year Day a closed restaurant where we had been told our reservation was made. Caused quite a scramble. It would have been nice/expected that the staff would follow up to get confirmations. The furnishings are ample but worn. Lights at the bedside were very difficult to turn on and off. The tub drained so slowly that two showers needed to be timed to allow the water to drain.
Location is outstanding. Breakfast and lunch were very good with ample options. The pools and surrounding area/deck were lovely but the pool water was freezing cold making use impossible. The pool was our primary reason for selecting this hotel so we were very disappointed.
