Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceLack of staff and lack of luxury service (education to the staff) in terms of the rate that we paid. The staff tried always to be helpfull but in a place that you pay around 500-600 euros per night, the service shoud meet your budget's expecations.
The staff is the strong advantage of the hotel! From Day 1 to our departure everyone was always there for us. Especially Javier who was in charge to assist as he was part of the concierge team. Every demand we had in terms of transfer or excursion he answered our requests in short time. The hotel is located literally into the jungle and this creates a peacefull environment for a great relaxation. The food in their restaurant is tasting very nice and we count it as one of the best places to have lunch or dinner in Tulum. The room is very comfortable and the bed matress offers you a nice sleep. The hotelier have made a super job on that place and have created a true paradise for every guest!

United StatesNothing! However, it is important to note that it is in the jungle. We found this to be a huge plus but it is not in Tulum proper.
We enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, gorgeous property, and delicious food! It is a very special place. You can walk or they offer to drive you to Cenotes that are only minutes away. The food is incredible! Best food we had in Mexico! The Temescal ceremony, fire pit with marshmallows, and yoga were extra nice touches. Highly recommend!

ItalyThe road to arrive was very difficult to drive. It takes about 30 minutes to arrive to tulum center. The food at night it’s served just until 9.30 pm which is way too early. There was a lot of noise around the room with music and people walking around and electricity generator. Very little privacy in the room. The cenote is not in the hotel but you need to pay for it.
The staff is super good! Really try is best to make it all working well. Special thank you to the chef which makes a cupole exception for us very nice. The hotel is really in the middle of the jungle and look like very authentic. Very nice for take photos and relax also near the cenotes. The food menu is small but very good quality of the food.

United KingdomThe room doesn't have Aircon. It does have a fan. It was fine for us but some may like to have air conditioning as it is a hot place
Loved the location. In the heart of the jungle we went for walks and cycles through the jungle to spot wildlife and swim in cenotes. The food was delicious! The room had lovely decor and the staff especially Javier was very friendly and helped is with any queries. He gave us a lovely floating breakfast experienxe, great service at dinner and we also enjoyed the temezcal experience as well. Free bikes to use which we made use of. The location is quite remote which we loved but maybe not for everyone. If your looking for a quiet honeymoon experience the middle of the jungle with good food, a lovely pool, staff and spa then this Is the place

United StatesNothing. Everything was more than expected and truly surpassed the expectations.
Everything at the Yellow Nest was to like! The staff, the food, the rooms, the attention to detail, and so much more! The staff truly made you feel wanted there and very accommodating. It is a very quiet, relaxing, yet romantic feeling to the Nest. 100% recommend for a couple getaway and/or reconnect.

United StatesEverything! The property is unique and beautiful. The villas are beautifully designed. The staff is absolutely amazing! Each staff member was so kind and genuinely concerned about our well-being… Even going as far to check on my husband when he was having a flare-up with a genetic eye disease he has. The staff found (and traveled to pick up) some eye patches for him to wear to help with his comfort and enjoyment of our trip— Erick, Arturo, and Javier went above and beyond in every interaction we had with them. I don’t believe we’d have gotten that type of hospitality anywhere else. The food and drinks at the restaurant on site were all delicious and the floating breakfast was such a cool addition. The Temezcal meditation was a beautiful and relaxing experience. The cenote tour with Miguel was so fun, educational, and beautiful. We loved how genuinely the staff wanted to share their culture with us through the different things offered— from the decor, Temezcal, food, Mayan rituals. We cannot wait to come back to stay at the Yellow Nest again someday!

MexicoIt’s not for everyone and it’s not what people would think when booking a stay in Tulum. The setting was like taken out of a movie. The staff did everything at hand to make us feel welcome. The food was amazing. Just a lovely stay. Will recommend to anyone and we’ll surely come back again.

SwitzerlandWonderful place in the middle of the woods next to the cenotes with an adorable team. Very unique place and beautiful rooms. We ate one evening at the restaurant and it was delicious, authentic Mexican food! We also could take part of the Temazcal, a Mayan ritual with meditation, and it was an amazing experience, very powerful. Everything is great, but the best is definitely the team who’s going to take so good care of you and take time to share with you, they are the nicest. Thanks you so much for the unforgettable stay. We recommend a 100%!

United StatesThe only downside of our stay was the weather. Our trip was in August and it was incredibly hot and humid. It was hard get rest just because of the temperature. I believe the Villas have air conditioning, but our stay was in a nest. If you don’t like bugs this is also not the place for you! The location in nested in the forest so it is the critters home first. I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.
This property is absolutely gorgeous, tucked away in the forest so it’s secluded and separated from the commotion in the city center of Tulum. There’s personal touches all over the property and it’s very well maintained. Our stay included free breakfast every morning, 2 Temazcal ceremonies daily, and amazing hospitality. Erik and Arturo are the head of concierge made our stay very memorable. My Spanish is very rusty but I started picking it back up throughout the duration of our stay. The staff noticed and Erik and I made a deal to only speak to me in Spanish, which was a fun challenge. The chef is incredible, we had dinner there almost every night and everything was delicious! On our last day we had the opportunity to try a special dish called Chile Nogada and it was amazing!

Australia1. Same menu everyday. When you only have the hotel restaurant the food gets old. We stayed 4 days maybe that was to long 2. A bit pricey but you’re at a 5 star exclusive resort so I guess you can’t cry to much about it 3. Bring cash with you!!! So you can tip appropriately that was our biggest regret. We felt we couldn’t financially appreciate the service we received enough because all we could do was card tips.
1. Beautiful cleaned pool & private plunge pool 2. Meditation everyday at 6 3. Erick made us feel comfortable and made us feel appreciated and supported. He really went above and beyond. For example sharing his goggles with us when we said we don’t have any. He shared his toothpaste as well when we ran out!!! Top bloke! 4. The rest of the service staff were also amazing putting in effort into everything. We’ve been travelling for a month and the service we received was good enough to make us want to comeback again. We really felt no task was to hard, none of the staff felt like any ask was to challenging. From bringing our food in the rain to our room to going above and beyond to light a fire to enjoy marshmallows in the heart of the beautiful Tulum jungle. I wish I remembered their names better, but Ericks right hand man that served us drinks was amazing really kind hearted and the gentleman where his last name meant two lovers was probably the hardest worker I’ve seen in a while. This cross functional team worked at the highest level in hospitality. @owners please provide these lads a healthy bonus 5. Location was amazing biking distance to centotes 6. The private villa with pool was exactly like the pictures. Spacious and extremely comfortable 7. It’s right in the heart of the jungle felt so refreshed 8. So calm, peaceful and serine
