only problem is the road - it’s really difficult on a scooter, so you need either a bike or to pay a lot more for an atv/car. the owners were kind enough to help me get my backpack up the dirt track as I couldn’t manage it on a scooter. You could also hear music from nearby until late on Saturday night, but I think everywhere locally would have this problem. it didn’t keep me awake.

such a wonderful, peaceful stay! like a luxury California beach house in the jungle. Miguel was super friendly and helpful. The dogs are great, Alfa walked with me for 3 hours on a hike nearby.

Not a true downside - but be aware you are in the jungle(ish) and there are bugs and geckos about. Everything was very clean, just part of being in nature.

Ananda Guesthouse is a luxurious stay on Ometepe! Located someways up a dirt road off the main street, it's a private, modern house. Our taxi (a regular sedan) had no trouble with access - and even though we were not brave enough to, several other people staying there rode motorbikes up to it. It feels very safe, as does island in general. The suite is spacious with a full kitchen and comfy couches. The best part is the balcony, which has a beautiful view of the grounds and the volcano. There's a hammock where you can lay out, or you can just lay on the ground and look up at the stars at night. We heard many birds and even howler monkeys during our stay. While there is no air conditioning, the fans in both rooms work well enough we didn't feel we missed it - and there were flush toilets. We had no issues with the WiFi - it seemed plenty fast. Our hosts and the staff were friendly and helped arrange all of the activities and transportation we wanted. We even got pizza delivered. It was also nice to have the option of breakfast at the guesthouse. We loved staying in Balgue and would recommend this spot for anybody who visits Ometepe.

Only possible improvement would be a TV.

A good location with small shops and restaurants at the bottom of the road. A spacious apartment in a great modern house. Full kitchen facilities and wifi connection were ideal and made our stay much easier, also a great view and we could enjoy our meals on the spacious balcony or relax in the hammock, or on the comfy sofas.

The road to get there after you leave the main highway was difficult when driving a small vehicle, not bad but just a bit unexpected. I hope they can fix it for my next visit.

The drive is only for a 4x4. We were going by taxi and we couldn't get a lift out of the guesthouse! Had to walk.

The road to the property is quite hard to walk on and it’s little uphill but the views make up for it.

The guesthouse was located in a peaceful environment in the jungle. We could spot some wildlife very nearby. The views from the rooms are towards the gorgeous Concepcion volcano. The room was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Location is perfect, great view of the volcano, amazing garden. Lots of birds and howler monkeys. Miguel and his brother were very helpful and nice. Local breakfast prepared just for us by amazing señoras! If you are looking for quite spot with lots of nature this is the place to be.

Super helpful staff, very quiet and peaceful location with a great view of the Lake and the Volcano. Rooms are spacious, well decorated and gorgeous, cross breeze from the lake into the bedroom and bathroom was superb. Big powerful fan made.sure room was very cool and comfortable to sleep in. Large king size bed, nice desk by the window, walk in closet and lots of storage space. Clean and spacious shared kitchen. Location is great with tons of farm to table and organic restaurants around. We would definitely stay there again if we are back on the island. Make sure you have a high vehicle as the road is bumpy on the 5 min ride from the main road to the hotel.

The road up to the property is BAD and you are quite a long way from anywhere. Neighbours were smoking unfortunately and the smell was wafting onto our deck making it a bit unpleasant at times. Other than checking in we didn’t see any staff - no cleaning. Also we had to pay cash but got charged a bad exchange rate for paying in local currency?! We messaged to find out about the bus times and were given incorrect information which resulted in a nervous hour standing in the side of the road. The power surges quite a bit so be careful and don’t leave things plugged in. The lamp in the lounge didn’t work and the insect screens are a bit broken in places.

We stayed in the top floor apartment which has a huge deck with a hammock and the most amazing view of the volcano. The apartment kitchen was really well equipped. The two dogs accompanied us everywhere which was so cute! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

No hot water in the shower, electricity turns on and off all the time. The road there is about 15 minutes of walk through the jungle, to get there with a vehicle it’s about 8 minutes, with a bike it’s impossible! (we broke the bike while trying). So the location is very bad if you don’t have a car. Overall we do not recommend this place.

Wifi wasn't working so I couldn't work from there. We were not told ahead of time and had to go elsewhere early in the morning.

In the evening it gets quite dark there, so as of 18hrs we didn’t leave the property anymore. In addition, make sure not to arrange other facilities such as taxi and scooter through the appartement, as they offered quite high rates. For example for a scooter they offered $25, however we were able to rent this outside of the place for $15 and even a big scooter we rented for $20, the same for a taxi.

Nice, clean and spacious appartement. The highlight is undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the volcano and we loved their two dogs that walked with us out every time we left the appartement. Also the breakfast was nice, with many options.
