Marcos and Martha are truely awesome hosts. They make you feel very good and safe from the first moment. The place is very good build and really clean. It is definitely recommendable for a stay. It is very convenient if you are heading to Ometepe or need to catch the bus in the morning. Don't walk home in the night, take a taxi!

The hosts are really nice. The accommodation is great. It's like a mini apartment. U could live there if Rivas had things to do there to stay longer. Also I got a ride from the host to the terminal when I left and he also took me to get money changed. Really nice touchm definitely recommend it

One of the most wonderful places I have stayed over the whole of my travels. Martha and Max are incredibly kind, they were so generous and couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable. The room was huge, I had my own kitchen and table and bathroom, the facilities were great! Probably the kindest people I have ever met, I was so touched by their generosity and positive nature. I couldn't recommend this place enough! I would love to return in the future!

This was living with a family in their home. They treated us like family and even took us on tour around the area and to the beach. They don't have a lot but offered us everything. Marta even washed our riding gear and coffee and food were constantly given to us. This is not a 5-star hotel but the experience was 10-star. It was tough to say goodbye the following day as it truly felt like we were leaving family. We took them out for supper and had a fabulous time. If you want to experience the true way of life staying with Max and Martha is a fantastic eye-opener and a wonderful experience you won't find anywhere else.

That was oke of out best accommodations until now. The room is like a whole apartment. Has a small kitchen, two big beds, private bathroom with towels and shampoo. There is coffee and a refrigerator. Max and Martha are such a kind and helpful couple. They treated us like family friends visiting not only like guests who pay. The room is simple but clean and it provides everything you need. stay here in Rivas! after a very long day we were met at the door by Marta and Max, who helped us with change from our taxi and immediately showed us round. the place was so spacious and has everything you need at such a good price! the hosts were brilliant - there was a rainstorm on arrival so Max drove us to get dinner, and also drove us to the bus station early next morning all with no charge, and helped us on the bus making sure we knew the price and didn’t get overcharged!! Marta also offered us coffee in the morning and the Manchester United song was playing in the car as this is my boyfriends team - very cute touch! the nicest hosts we have ever met. thank you so much!

highly recommended! my stay with Martha and Max was amazing. the lovely couple is very helpful when it comes to whatever you need. everything is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. you can walk from the bus station (about 20 minutes from the bus terminal or about 15 minutes from the tica bus station) or take a taxi. communication via whatsapp makes everything easy, uncomplicated and very fast.

I had a wonderful stay at Casa privada Brisas del Ometepe. The hosts Martha and Max were very kind and went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful stay in Rivas. They offered to pick me up at arrival into Rivas and were very communicative and helpful. The room was spacious, with good wifi, and a short distance from San Pedro and the Rivas bus station. This stay is a gem with a very comfortable bed and simply the best hosts I have ever met in my travels!! Would recommend to solo travelers or couples and I would definitely stay here again in the future!

They gave us good directions, but it can be a bit difficult to find on the map. (They are not on google maps)

We were looking for a place to stay in Rivas before an early travel to Costa Rica. Initially we were looking for a hotel, but the ratings in this place made us go for it. And, we did not regret it at all! Martha and Max is one of the nicest and most hospidable and kind people we have met. Opening up their house for the two of us. Do not be afraid to ask them for help, because they will be there for you! When we left, we wished we could stay a bit longer to eat a breakfast and get to know Martha and Max even better. Unfortunately there is quite a bit of renovation in the house, but this was not inconvenient at all.

Martha and Max are honestly two of the nicest people we have met during our travels. They were extremely nice and helpful, and even dropped us off early in the morning at the bus stop. They also offered to bring us to the harbour for free. The room is spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. They really made such an effort to make us feel at home. We would definitely recommend this place, it’s a very nice experience to stay at their home!

The room wasn't finished, there was no floor, just pure concrete, a lot of dust everywhere. No cupboards, no hangers, everything had to be in the suitcase on the floor. The bathroom was even worse, no words to describe it. We had to wash everything after we had left the place. It should not be allowed to rent a room like this. Apart from this it was very noisy and the only common area in the hostel was a parking place for the owners car.

The owner was nice, but it did not make up for the bad quality of the hostel
