Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur group had a great 2 night stay at Andes House before setting out on our trek. Our host Deepak was extremely kind and helpful from getting a pick-up from the airport, to arranging a ride to Ramechapp for us, giving us tips on our hiking itinerary, and even letting us store some of our stuff at the hotel while we are on our trek. Rooms are basic but comfortable and provided what we expected. The service was amazing and we really appreciated the included breakfast. Amazing value, would definitely recommend Andes House to others staying in Kathmandu before an adventure.

NepalOur towels were a little old, and one had holes in it. We also didn't get hot water every day to shower, which was difficult as it was quite cold in Kathmandu and in our room had no heating, making showering with cold water horrible. We managed to shower every second day. There wasn't really given a reason for it as we were told that it would be available from 7 am as they need to turn on the heating system. Honestly for me i have been to nepal enough to know there can be hotwater issues so having a kettle in the room to heat your water and a bucket option to even have a hot bucket shower would be better then nothing if the hot water issue is something they can't fix. It would be good to be clear with people about it, though, as the people staying next door to us left after 1 night because they couldn't get hot water.
Me and my wife stayed for a week. When we got there, the room was clean, and the bedding was clean and fresh. Our bed was really comfortable. Both of us were able to sleep really well. They offered a complementary breakfast. It was a decent size to begin the day, including omelette, 2 toast, butter and jam, coffee, or tea. It was a good way to start the day before heading out for the day. It is also well situated being in Thamel close to everything. I was there to do some paperwork, and the places I needed to go were all within walking distance, which was great for us. The staff here were also very friendly, always greeting us in the morning with quick breakfast service and people always cleaning. The outdoor sitting area/ entry was also quite nice and relaxing to be able to enjoy the breakfast or just bring friends to sit and chat. Overall coment I think the place is great as an affordable option if you're staying 1 or 2 nights and willing to take a chance on the hot water. If you want a more creature comfort type of stay, then you might be better paying a bit more to go somewhere else. I think if they got the hot water fixed and just updated some things like getting new towels and checking all facilities are working as they should then this would be a perfect place for people who are looking for a good affordable option.

IranOur first room wasn’t clean and had bed bugs, but our second and third rooms were much better, though they were quite noisy. This is expected, as Andes House is located in Thamel, an area known for its lively nightlife.
The best thing about Andes House is the staff—they are incredibly hospitable and genuinely care about making your stay enjoyable. Babu, in particular, is very helpful and offers great suggestions to enhance your travel plans.

CroatiaOur room didn't have nets against mosquitos, but at least there is a fan so it is also not so bad alternative against this annoying bugs.
It is at perfect location, in busy area but quite enough to have good rest and sleep. Garden is also nice area with possibility to refill drinking water if you need. Atmosphere is easy going and in the garden you can always hang around two beautiful and very calm dogs!
