I stayed here for 4 nights and it was awesome. Every bed has separate curtains and lights . The room was clean but small. Maintenance was so good. Sometimes at night some people keep their bathroom dirty. But rest everything is clean. Loved it ❤️

24 hrs reception facility & and the environment makes you so comfortable to stay more and chill. Clean and happy environment with all hostel facility. Mattress is so comfortable to sleep whole day and curtains give you privacy for the bunk bed. Lovely people and helpful staffs taking care of guests as family members. Travel and ticketing is available.

The bathrooms were not ideal but good enough for a few days, and they had hot water. The dorms were a bit smelly, not really clean and very loud at night due to the absence of curfew... but overall okay for a few days

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the beds had privacy curtains, and the rooftop was nice.

Location is great, at the center of Thamel. Stuff is very friendly and ready to help. Room in a dormitory is a little bit small, but it’s okay. You can meet many interesting people here.

t was great experience. first time in a hostel and loved it. it is cheap and clean. worth every penny. has privacy. big lockers. clean bathroom, keep silence in room, good discipline. management so good. always get served first. friendly people. met new people from different countries it was amazing 🤞❤️

Propably the worst bathroom I‘ve encountered in Nepal. Even with the fan it was very hot in the room. Also the staff during my arrival wasn‘t really nice but the other night everything was okay and they gave me some advices on local buses.

Amazing staff and ambience for backpackers. There is on going some management by the metropolitan government and you might face some wifi issues which is everywhere around KTM. Other than that you will feel home at BigTree.

The room was filled with mosquitoes, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. room was unbearably hot, and there was only one small fan that barely provided any reliefThe washroom was absolutely filthy and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The stench was unbearable, and I felt uncomfortable using it throughout my stay. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hostel to look elsewhere for accommodation.

Too many mosquitoes in common areas and toilets. The toilet and bathroom cubicles are small and tight. Have to apply mosquito repellent on your body all the time.. Also the dorm might not be suitable during summers as the shared fan may not be enough to keep you cool.. Luckily summer is short in Kathmandu.

Great location. Nice rooftop terrace area to hangout or exercise. The dorm was comfortable too.

It is one of the best hostels in Kathmandu area. The cafe area is superb. Location is close to Thamel and the staff is really friendly. I will definitely stay their if I visit Kathmandu again.

The building is in a state of complete disrepair, totally neglected, filthy, dilapidated. The toilets are ridiculously small(and I'm a tiny woman),no toilet paper, the shower hasn't been cleaned in years and has a gas boiler in it, never seen anything like that, water all over it when you shower and smoke coming out, incredible. My dorm was a dungeon, the door can't be closed at all, it's broken like just about everything else. The duvet covers are totally ripped and paper thin, more holes than actual fabric and the duvets are revolting, you wouldn't want to touch them. I asked for a sheet but all covers are in the same state. Dump, dark, noise from the street, stinky, floor covered in plastic, bare painted walls, no plastering. The cafe and bar on the rooftop are decrepit, everything is falling apart, I could go on forever but there's no point, you pay 2.5 USD for a bed and it's worth exactly that. They could clean, fix things, with very little or no money at all they could make the place look really amazing but they obviously don't care, sadly.

When I saw the place I was going to leave but the receptionists were so welcoming and helpful that I stayed. They're great, I really don't blame them for the sorry state of the place. The location is good, close to everything and a bit tucked away from the noise of major roads. My bed had no bed bugs despite the horrific hygiene conditions.
