Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanThere was only breakfast included tariff which was kind of a waste during my stay. The breakfast namely starts at 8 AM but it's normal if you get your breakfast after 8:30. I had to skip the breakfast for many days because of events starting at 8 AM.
Location was perfect for me as I was visiting the Tharlam monastery during my stay. Safe and quiet area, no traffic noise. Breakfast coffee from coffee shop downstairs was excellent.

United StatesThe price is a little bit expensive. No air-conditioning in room and the heater will cost extra electric fee. And the shower stream is not big.
Good location. You can arrive the Buddha stupa in several steps! The apartment is big. There are sufficient facilities in the room and helpful staff.

GermanyThe window is facing directly the ooposite wall, maybe half a meter away. No view and almost no daylight.
The hotel is outside the noisy city of Kathmandu. It is directly at the Buddha stupa. This quarter is comparatively calm, no cars directly at the stupa. The bit advantage is the breakfast rooftop terrace with direct few of Buddha stupa. This is really wonderful. A perfect place if you want to avoid noise and chaos and traffic of downtown Kathmandu. The quarter is calm and interesting. It is the quarter of Buddhist temples, a lot of Tibetan shops and temples.

AustraliaIn the morning, the sounds of the shops near by opening their metal roller doors was quite loud (and quite early). Also, one morning, we needed to take breakfast in our room as there was an event on the terrace. It was no problem really, but there wasn't much more than a small bedside table to eat off, so it was a little awkward.
This was our second time here, so that indicates how much I liked the hotel. The location was stunning, and so close to boudha stupa. It would be a great spot to stay for those seeking some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of thamel. I really liked the breakfast too! The breakfast was delicious, and usually served on the roof top terrace overlooking the stupa. Stunning!

AustraliaIt’s not really the property’s fault, but it is strangely very noisey at night - the local dogs can be extremely loud and bark for extended periods, and the stores opening up they heavy metal doors very early (5am -6am) woke us each day. On our second stay here we weren’t able to take breakfast on the roof due to an event being on. It was offered in our rooms, wish was fine, but there was no table so it was a little hard to eat.
The location of Bodhiz is exceptional. It is very close to the stupa, and you can even sit outside on the roof for breakfast overlooking the stupa. It’s stunning and peaceful, especially in the evening. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast options are all delicious.

ThailandUnfortunately there was a group of people in our room before who seemed to be causing some trouble for the hotel and refused to check out for hours so we ended up checking in a few hours after the normal time. The staff of the hotel were very kind though and let me use the sauna for free to make it up. Also in the stupa area, there are so many nice restaurants and cafes where you can chill and admire the view it was really no problem.
Location was great and staff were very kind. I really loved the room, it was more like a suite and had a huge bath with hot water, very welcome after hiking. Also a kettle and some teabags. The windows on the room faced a wall which meant it was a little dark during the day, however no big issue if you aren't going to be in the room much. The rooftop restaurant view is great, you are close to the stupa and the breakfast here was really fresh and good quality. We had the local breakfast which was. Veg curry with paratha and a masala omelette, delicious. I am conscious about using plastic when I travel, so they had a water refill in the lobby which we could use free of charge which I was happy about. Also they have a super cute puppy! 💕

NepalNothing really. It was all good. The airport pick up was perfect, the baggage porters were great, and the hotel management was kind. The owner even showed us where to get money exchanged and the hotel manager has perfect English and is always ready to answer questions.
Breakfast wasn't included in the apartment cost. I didn't know this before booking, but that's ok. Food on the rooftop was good, and the view was amazing. The room was spacious. The staff was very helpful. The room didn't get cleaned the whole week we were there, likely because we were in the "apartment". However, when we needed clean towels they were brought promptly. The bedding was crisp white bedding, very clean and comfortable.
