Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainMy stay at Dinesh was better than I could have wished for. Dinesh and Deepa are wonderful hosts that made me feel so welcome and their place is simple, but very peaceful. The food was exceptional: the breakfast delish and the Dal Bats were sincerely speaking the best I've had in two months in Nepal.

BelgiumIt's my 3rd time I stay for a longer period at Dinesh House. It feels like having a family. No resort or big hotel can replace the warmth and experience of living with the family. There are rooms for every budget. The dal bhat is one of the best you will have. As well as the pancakes. I recommend definitely the hike with Dinesh. But also the cooking class with Dipa. If you are looking for true Nepali experience then don't hesitate to stay there.

United StatesOverall it was a great stay, but want to note this for others - Far walk to lake, but I still think this was the best place around the lake. It’s remote and in Nepal so nothing really fancy. The only thing that would be nice is if they updated the mattresses. I was only there 2 nights, so it didn’t bother me and again, it’s remote in Nepal. WiFi didn’t work well Incase anyone planned to work.
The hosts were very friendly and the views were great! Food was amazing!!! We had breakfast and dinner.

Dinesh and his family were so lovely and welcoming. The various options for activities were great and it’s apparent how much they care about the guests. The views of the annapurnas and Manaslu were spectacular, and on one evening provided the most magnificent sunset.

United StatesN/A — I had a great experience! The place was a bit hard to find, but Dinesh was very proactive sending me all the details I needed to find it :)
I stayed at Dinesh House the night before the start of my Vipassana course at the Dhamma Pokhara Vipassana Center in Leknath. I can highly recommend Dinesh House as the perfect place to prepare for Vipassana since it is so quiet, beautiful, tranquil and serene :) It would also be a wonderful place to re-enter reality after a 10-day Vipassana, for the same reasons! It couldn't be closer to the Vipassana Center; I was able to walk there the next morning from Dinesh House, it was only about a 10-minute walk away! First things first: the views from Dinesh House are absolutely gorgeous!!! You can see Begnas Lake, and on a clear day the Annapurna Mountain Range as well! I couldn't have asked for more beautiful views. Onto the hosting family: Dinesh and his lovely wife, Dipa. They were both SO kind to me during my stay. On my walk to Dinesh House, there was a bit of rain, so he came out to walk me there and brought me an umbrella to keep me dry! I was really happy with my room, the bathroom, and especially the meals: Dipa cooked me a delicious dal bhat dinner the night I arrived, plus a tasty omelette with chapati & coffee the next morning. I highly recommend Dinesh House to travelers looking for beautiful views, tasty food, and friendly company on site — thanks so much Dinesh & Dipa for providing such a wonderful experience!

Dinesh, his wife ans his mother prepared us delicious food and coffee. We enjoyed every mimute of our peaceful and relaxing stay here. The place was only a twenty minute walk to the lake where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and swimming opportunities. I would recommend to anyone visiting Begnas Lake area.

AustraliaDinesh House is the perfect spot for a few days relaxation. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, beautiful gardens for outdoor dining, with comfy chairs, swings and a hammock making a great place for quiet reading, bird watching or chatting with other guests. Start the day with a home grown delicious coffee, and enjoy Dipa’s tasty dal bhat tarkari for dinner, with many of the vegetables coming fresh from the garden. Dinesh joins guests for dinner, providing a great opportunity to learn about the local area, customs, environment and his family. It’s a short walk down to the lake where there are several other cafes offering a variety of lunch options. Dinesh also offers a range of guided tours in the local area, so there’s plenty to do if you want, or just to relax and enjoy the surroundings. And many guests (me included) are return visitors - surely the best recommendation.

PortugalThere could be some more social spaces - we were there for a few days, one of which there was quite a bit of rain, and there wasn't a covered area to engage other guests. During sunny days, they do have tables outside with big beautiful trees that provide shade though 😉
The food was excellent, the delicious coffee was harvested and roasted on site. The views were beautiful, lots of butterflies and birds, rooms were very clean, all around a wonderful experience. The family running the home for over 20 years does a wonderful job of knowing when to engage, and when to give space. They're very intuitive and focused on making sure you have an authentic experience. My best stay in Nepal so far, easily.
