How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel is decent in line with the price. Upholstery is a bit old and simple small breakfast with egg.
Good staffs and excellent Boss that served us very well upon arrival. Helped us with the tour to Pokhara and exchange money with best rate.

Very helpful personal! They took care of me during my staying here! Thank you very much! The room was good and this place is located I the heart of Thamel but in the same time in so quite place! It’s very important for me that no noise in the night time from outside!

Definitely the best place to stay in Thamel! We had a pleasure to stay there 2 times - before and after trekking ACT. The staff are so kind and friendly people. They are always ready to help with any problems and to advice about travelling in Nepal. The rooms are spacious and clean, with really comfortable beds, especially after long flight or bus ride. Included Nepali-style breakfast was fresh and tasty every day. Located in the heart of Thamel, but not directly by the busy and loud main streets. I had an opportunity to book an airport transfer which was on-time, comfortable and reasonably-priced. So many reasons to choose Hotel Everest Nepal! Thank you for your sincere hospitality. You're doing great job. Best regards and hope to see you next time in Nepal.

When I first arrived in Kathmandu I was seeking a value hotel in town. I believe honestly that Hotel Everest is the best value for your money in all of Kathmandu! From the kind staff that have no accommodated me so well, I feel like they are a second family. The breakfasts, the rooms, the hot shower, the assistance - everything is fantastic. I will always stay here when I am visiting Kathmandu! Thank you Mani Arbin Himal and team!

This hotel is centrally located in Thamel, with an excellent airport pick up. The breakfast from the kitchen is fantastic!!! And the staff could not be kinder. Arbin especially at the front desk is the real deal. Such a great guy!

The hotel was calm and quiet.. The bed was huge and super quiet. it's on a side street so away from all the main street chaos, but only five minutes walk.. Itwas clean, well run and the staff were awesome!

The hotel is really near all the mail streets, but in a quite area, so there is not a lot of noise during night time. Breakfast is ok, they will offer several options and they will cook it. Service is excellent, always keen on helping on whatever you need. Nothing to complain about.

The hot water situation could be a bit temperamental. They will need to sort this before the cold weather arrives.
Great location. In Thames but in a quiet side street, still with lots of eating/drinking options very close by. Staff were lovely, owner Mani was very helpful and desk guys were great. Special shout out to Arbin (hope I got that right!) who was always smiley and welcoming. Cleaning staff did fantastic job. Room was well appointed with tv and comfy bed, also a desk and chair was a nice touch. Balcony nice for fresh air and great view from the roof. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Didn't affect the quality of my stay but worth being aware that some of the photos they show on the hotel profile are a little old. For example, the balcony shown wasn't open for use by guests.
When I was travelling around Nepal, Hotel Everest was my base whenever I passed through Kathmandu. Excellent location close to all the attractions of Thamel but on a quiet side street with none of the noise. The staff are super helpful and you can leave gear there if you go trekking or on a trip where you don't need all your stuff. Like most hotels, they also have a travel desk where you can book bus and flight tickets.
