Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaHorrible smell in the bathroom from canalisations probably. It would be nice during check in that they tell you about the property since it’s huge I didn’t find the common room until I asked them. Not a social place but more like a hotel vibe. One restaurant was closed so the common area shown in the pictures were not available. Felt a bit disappointed.
Beds are very comfortable, location is walking distance to many places, staff is nice, 4th floor common room sunlight is amazing to chill.

The beds and rooms were great. Lots od comon area to relax. Very good storage around the bed and lights. Shower was great and toilets too. Food was nice.

IndiaNothing much as I had a good time. They can do a cheaper breakfast and buffet option for lunch and dinner.
Property is amazing with friendly staff and clean facilities. It is located in Thamel which is the hotbed of pubs and restaurants and shopping bazaars. The bunk beds are cozy and have all the required options like reading lights, plug points, AC rooms, hot and cold shower option in the attached bathroom and generous storage to make your stay comfortable. The have two restaurants one at the entrance and another rooftop for all your food cravings and food is tasty albeit being a bit expensive for otherwise value for money stay charges. They have in-house adventure options which makes it easier for people to book their adventures if they haven’t done it already and saves time in going around and looking for a decent tour option. They also have weekly tours and activities happening which they display on the lobby so you can be a part of that and enjoy and interact with the people living there. In all a nice experience but please note this is for singles only.

New Zealand1.It's a shame the rooftop isnt lively. We always all go somewhere else to spend time together, which is a shame when there is an amazing rooftop area for guests to hang out. But we don't go there. It has such a great view but no one goes to drink and hang out there. Very drab. Please think of some of ways to make the rooftop a great place - maybe turn it into a common room instead. 2. The common room door is always shut. The most important part of a hostel should be open - make it extra accessible for travelers to go there and meet each other. After I arrived, I put a chair or a table against the door to hold it open. And more people came in, that's how I got to meet all the people I did. The TV and remote also didnt work. It would have been nice to have movie nights and Netflix together as a group. 3. No one really goes to the dining area to get food. This is another underutilized space that should have been far more likely. It certainly needs more lighting. I high recommend making it more lovely and brighter. 4. The bathroom floor drain in the bathroom of my room smells so bad , if I leave the bathroom door open then it stinks up the whole room. Please look into cleaning it up. 5. The shower temperature is either too hot or just cold. It needs some plumbing work to fix it.
1. I met so many people. It was so easy to connect with lots of people from all waks of life. They are the ones that made the trip so wonderful and probably a little way too exhausting - did far too much every day 2.The view from my room - is great - 3 sides of the room have windows, so I could watch the sunrise straight from my bed or put my feet on the window sill from the bed and watch the city waking up. The room wasn't as bright and big as I thought it would be, the photos on Booking.com don't show the daytime look. No matter what, the windows make up for it. 3. All the murals on different floors. 4. The lighting in the Common Room 5. Great collection of books in the Common Room, 1 of the best was by Pico Iyer on Kathmandu. I loved the chapter on Kathmandu. 6. Reception staff, especially A.M. :), were friendly and chill and helpful. Nothing beats a welcoming and hospitable staff at reception which can define the whole stay just as much as the lounge area could.

IrelandWe had a fantastic time at this hostel. The vibe is fun, with organised activities throughout the week, entertainment in the evening, live music at weekends was great! The rooftop bar had amazing views for sunset. The rooms were very nice, hot showers throughout our stay and the reception staff were very helpful. We booked our flights to Lukla at the on-site travel agent desk they were very good. Special shout-out to the security guard out front who was alway very friendly. We met so many people at this hostel, very sad to leave we can highly recommend staying here!

IndonesiaThe ladder to get on to my second bunk bed isn’t ergonomic. Quiet sometimes to figure out the safest way to get on and off. Also would be nice to have a little sign for light switch, everyone of us always tried each switch until we found the one we want to turn on and off.
The staff are very nice and accommodating. They have many cool activities that you can join or arrange transportation for you too. Also the people i met in this hostel are nice its not overwhelming for a solo traveler at all.

United KingdomModern, clean, well located and cool. I went right at the start of the tourist season so it was quite quiet but can imagine it’s a really good vibe and better for meeting people if just a little bit later (after middle of September). The food is really good but it’s more expensive than most local places, which is normal to be fair and it’s still not too pricey
