Very friendly staff, the rooms are quite spacious as for Kathmandu standards. The location is very good if you want to be located in Thamel and be within walking distance to Durbar square. We could store our backpack during our trek.

Shampoo and shower gel were not provided, and there was no hot water for bathing at night. You have to climb many flights of stairs. There were no cabinets for large luggage or places to hang towels.

The staff is very friendly and is proactive in assisting even when issues arise late at night. The bathroom is very clean, and the mattress is comfortable. The accommodation is located in the bustling area of Kathmandu, making it quite convenient to reach other places.

Rooms were small but really nice! Beds were super comfy and there was actually a shower curtain. The owner helped us with planning activities in Kathmandu. If I would go to Kathmandu again I will definitely book the flying yak again!

Nothing. But this might not be the best place for couples or romantic trips. haha.

This place is great. I travel alone but end up with a two-twin bedroom. The room is super clean, the bed is soft but not too soft, there is no weird smell, and the bathroom is tiny but with nice hot water shower. Everything just works well. The only thing that may be improved is wifi. It might be on/off sometimes. But I managed to have a 1-hr Zoom meeting with my colleague in NYC, so I guess it's not too bad. The location is also nice. It's in Thamel and within walking distance to shops and restaurants, and also Durbar Square (15 mins). The staff are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, especially Raj. I met him when I checked in, and he immediately helped me arrange my trips for the next few days. With his help, I had a wonderful tour the next day with Jaya (hope I spell his name right). Jaya is from the local and he is passionate about Nepal's history, religion, and people. High recommended. I recommend this place to people who are looking for a safe, relaxed, and low-key place to stay in Thamel. I would stay here again the next time I visit Kathmandu.

First night we had the room with very soft matress, the matress was crawled. But the staff helped us to change the room and since that everything was perfect.

We absolutely appreciated the staff! Very helpful. Also the manager helped us to plan our trip in Kathmandu day by day and to organise the trips with guide.

Flying Yak Kathmandu and the team was an amazing choice for our first Nepal visit. The hotel is located in Thamel, quarter with plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Also ca 20 minutes from the airport. The staff is super friendly and super helpful - we arranged guide around Kathmandu, taxi back to airport, asked questions about Kathmandu, Nepal… They speak very good English and communicate promptly. The place is very clean, rooms are equipped with all you need and are also clean and comfortable. The price is also very fair for what you get. We will gladly come back one day. 🙏🏔️Thank you!

A mini refrigerator would have completed the pack, though it’s fine.

It’s a nice property, right at the centre, 50 m from LOD. Room are clean, well furnished, good interior, though a bit small, but comfortable. Staff are good.

We were recommended a day trip that turned out to be kind of average.

Super friendly and helpful staff, we came back through Kathmandu after hiking the Annapurna and stayed here again. It's a very central location. The avocado cafe next door is really good too.

Best location, very quite and peaceful although its being in busy Thamel area. The lovely staff made me felt like at home, the owner Mr Raj is a top lad. The place is very clean and sanitized, free wifi all day long. They even ordered me taxi and made sure I sat in the right vehicle. Would definitely visit there again 🤗
