Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe had a double room with private bathroom and were very comfortable there. The bed was amazing with literally one of the most comfy mattresses we slept on and the bed linnen was clean. The bathroom was very clean too and it came with toilet paper and hand soap. WiFi worked well during our entire stay. The family running the hotel is very friendly and answered all of our questions patiently. We could also leave our bags there whilst we went for the ABC hike. We definitely recommend this hotel!

BhutanIt was amazing how I was able to book a nice hotel with the perfect location to the city centre which is about 5-8 minutes walk & the lakeside. The owner Son & Mom were so welcoming & nice & graceful & helped us with one day sightseeing with other tourists which was quite nice that we got to visit a lot of sites in a day & we could plan the other days without any hurry. I would highly recommend Hotel Hakoniwa as it’s located close to lakeside yet is a silent & away from any noise😇 & I would love to come back some time again😃

FranceNothing, everything was great !
Very nice hotel and super friendly family ! Our first 5 days stay was so nice that we came back 4 more nights on thé way back before going to Katmandou. The room are very clean and convenient. You have power sockets close to the bed, little table and hot shower. They also propose nice meals for a really reasonable prices and breakfast is also good. The hotel is well located, close to main streets but in a calm area. The big bonus hère is the kindness of the staff. They helpt us to contact people in order to make a safari in Bardia National Park and this ended being the best experience in our lives ! We also asked for laundry and it was perfectly done. I can only recommand this place and I will stay hère again in this hotel if I come back to Pokhara one day. Thank you so much and I wish you the best.

20/10! We absolutely LOVED our stay in Hotel Hakoniwa! Anil and his lovely family are the best! Anil gave us so many great tips and advices about trekking. Wr stayed here 4 days before and 5 days after our trek and it was hard to leave. The breakfast is simple but delicious - egg, bread and vegetables with coffee or tea. Its in a quiet are of Pokhara but pretty close to the lake. I can’t recommend this hotel enough! If you can come here, it’s really lovely!

PortugalThe heart of this hotel is the staff! It's run by a sweet family. Anil, seating at the front desk, is really kind and always ready to help you. He can give you good tips and advice on what to visit and about the treks. They also have laundry service, we ended up using it twice, and the clothes came out smelling so good. Regarding the accommodation, i liked the room, the bed was comfortable and there was hot water. The place was always so clean and it is such good value for the money, especially with breakfast included. I also appreciate the room decoration showing more thought than most places in India and Nepal. We ended up staying for 5 nights total before and after trekking, I really can't recommend Hotel Hakoniwa enough!

Austrianice stuff, only 5 walking minutes to lakeside/centre/market streets/Tibetan market, backpack storage for free (when I went on a trek), laundry service quick and clean, breakfast is an onion-egg omelette with 2 sclices of toast + butter and yam. I would ask every day for 2 more toast slides and they made it happily for me, thank you ☺️ room is spacious with warm water, free filtered water refill, trekking booking available at the hotel through owner(which us at the same time also a guide). I liked it a lot so I stayed also after my trek, 3 more nights there ☺️👌🏻

HungaryHotel Hakoniwa is a great place to stay in Pokhara. Its location is excellent, in a quiet area, yet very close to both the lake and the central part of Lakeside. It's easy to find around everything you need for relaxation or activities, dining or preparing for a trek. It has also a rooftop terrace with a view of Machapuchare, which already makes you dream of the mountains. :) The room was spacious and very cozy with a beautiful design created by the family. And the family - the heart of this place -, they are so friendly, caring and kind people. They also kept my big backpack while I was trekking in the mountains, which was a great help. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Hakoniwa and can only recommend it.
