Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThey said they would pick us up from the airport. I did not recall whether it was included or not in the price, so I assumed it was. Then we were charged 1300 rupees. Have we taken a taxi from the airport we would have paid just 700. It was kind of a sneaky move. Just be aware of hidden fees.
It's close to the main touristic area, yet not as noisy as one other hotel we stayed in Kathmandu. I would say it was actually quite calm.

CanadaIt is written above.
We stayed here for three nights. Hotel is located on a quiet street just a short walk from Thamel tourist area and a longer walk to Durbar square. Breakfast was made to order. Although there were limited choices, it was fresh and tasty. Our room was very clean and good sized, with a comfortable bed and clean bedding. The room itself was rather dark due to the fact that the window was facing a big wall just a half meter away. Not like the photos. Our closet smelled very strongly of moth balls, so we decided not to hang our things in it. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The one thing I would strongly advice against is getting a shuttle arranged. Our experience was not good both times we tried. Since we arrived at midnight we thought it was a good idea for an airport transfer to be arranged in advance from the hotel. The cost was $10 USD. To our surprise an old decrepit and dirty van was waiting for us. I looked around and couldn’t find any other vehicle in this state of disrepair at the airport. Many new or newer taxis though. Where this came from will remain a mystery to me! The combination of constant potholes and condition of the vehicle made our ride to hotel really uncomfortable if not painful. I would never recommend this for people with mobility issues or neck / back problems. Knowing what I know now, I would just get a taxi on arrival. Our next experience with the hotel's transportation was when we enquired about a transport to Nagarkot. A friendly front desk staffer informed us that he has to call his manager. It sounded normal until the manager asked where we were from and upon hearing our country of origin, he inflated his price accordingly. Since the price sounded high we declined and went to a first corner where we were able to negotiate our price to a half of the manager's price with a first random cab driver. Would I stay next time? Honestly, I think there are better options.

AustraliaNo hot water at all for 3 days of 4 day stay. Staff assured us that this was fixed, but still no hot water. Breakfast cold on first morning and so despite breakfast included we ate elsewhere.

United KingdomUnfortunately the AC in my room didn't work and the hotel had no spare blankets meaning it was v cold at night. Luckily I had my sleeping bag with me as I'd come back from trekking but otherwise I'd have frozen. I was also woken early one morning by reception calling asking me how I wanted my eggs cooked. It took me a while to understand they had decided to substitute the buffet breakfast for room service due to the election that day. Would have been far better to ask for breakfast orders the previous evening than waking up guests early on a Sunday morning. There were also a few language barrier issues with staff. E g. meat was served to me a different morning despite asking for 2 eggs and toast (and being a vegetarian!). I was also surprised to open a drawer and find the main body of the smoke alarm which had been removed from the ceiling. Note, there's no lift. Although staff are very happy to help with heave luggage if needed.
The room size was good, and despite being in Thamal, there was relatively little noise from outside. The lady on reception during the day was super friendly.

Messages sent to the hotel were all replied promptly. The hotel is within a stone throw to Thamel and yet is quiet where you can be assured of a good and restful sleep. The room is spacious with modern bathroom. The staff are courteous and helpful. Special mention to Sandip for his ever eagerness to help and prompt response whenever we need assistance. The restaurant at the rooftop is a gem! We had meals a couple of times there. The food was cooked on the spot and simply delicious! Kudos to the chef! Congrats to the team on its 5th anniversary!
