The place is in the centre of Thamel area, it is easy to find any shop, restaurant, supermarket etc! The room was comfortable and the hotel staff is nice. It was worth wih the price!

Lock on bedroom door needed fixing, no room service during the seven nights I stayed, drinking water is included but have to ask at reception to get it.

You could hear noises from other guests from the corridors, and this being Kathmandu, you could hear some music from nearby venues at times. This isn’t the guesthouse’s fault however!

We stayed here twice during our travels in Nepal because it’s a great value stay in the heart of Thamel yet a tucked away enough from busy streets. We had a spacious and bright room with small balcony. Great comfortable beds and properly hot water always available in shower. Room was clean too. Nice staff and also some good Nepali food available at the small restaurant on the ground floor - otherwise, you have a large choice of places to eat close to the guesthouse!

You are getting what you pay for here, manage expectations accordingly. The building is dated with fans rather than AC.

I went back and forth to this hotel several times so I got to stay in different rooms. I always paid the same price but some rooms are better than others. Once they gave me a room that wasn't cleaned properly and where the shower didn't work properly. Eventually they gave me another room after I insisted to change. Also, like anywhere in Nepal, the soundproofing is terrible so you can hear people talking in the corridor like if they were in your room. Also, one of the staff member (a young guy) is pretty rude and doesn't have any communication skills at all but the manager is friendly.

Good value for money. The beds are comfortable and the location is great.

It was all good!

They were very accommodating when we wanted to arrive a day early. The manager and staff were very helpful right from the start( when our taxi driver couldn't find the hotel ,they came out the hotel to find us!) Room was comfortable, light with a balcony. The room was very quiet. All very good indeed!

To be honest, the room was pretty dirty. Also the location is not very lucky because of the noise coming from night clubs in the centre up to late night hours.

Stuff was very wiling, as I was not able to find the accomodation and came to pick me up in the centre.

The hotel is not a luxury option but it"s very good value for money.. it's located bang on in the middle of Thamel but in a quiet alley so you can sleep peacefully at night. The rooms are simple but spacious and clean, beds are comfy and there's 24hrs hot water. Owner, manager and staff are very friendly and have asisted us with everything we needed. They also organise treks but we didn't avail of their services. We stayed there twice and will stay again at Tara Om Guesthouse next time we come to Nepal 🇳🇵

I stayed here on two occasions. I felt progressively more uncomfortable with the staff. There is a large group of men that congregate at the bottom of the hotel. When you walk in they stare at you intensely. I had a guy friend come up to my room once and then after that I felt extremely uncomfortable. I felt I was treated dirty… I did not feel safe. If you are a female solo traveler I would probably go elsewhere.
