Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. It is an european 10 for this location.I think I was lucky when I chose this hotel. When you are planning a trekking tour in the Himalayas, it helps you to know that you don't have to worry about accommodation in Kathmandu-Thamel. The reception staff is 100% customer-friendly and much more than I have encountered in famous hotels. The location is very good. I highly recommend this location.

Excellent location. The friendliest staff ever. They feel like family. The facility has seen many guests so it’s a tad outdated, but the friendliness of the staff made up for any deficiencies. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. They have a bar for the evening. Air con worked well. Balcony was a plus. And despite the lively restaurant across the street, our room was quiet. It’s off the main drag too. Such a good value!!!

My dad stayed at the hotel for a week on a solo trip to Nepal. He is 73 years old. The hotel staff took great care of him. They were excellent in helping him, booking tours, giving advice etc. He felt safe. Dad said breakfast was nice too.

United StatesThe "king" bed is 2 twins pushed together, which isn't uncommon in Asia but isn't very comfortable. It's an older hotel with wooden doors and windows, which are sometimes warped. Again, it is typical of South Asia.
Good location, very clean. Staff is very kind and helpful. Bathrooms recently refurbished. Nice balcony. Great a/c. Shrabya and Bijaya at the desk were great!

I had a truly pleasant stay at Hotel Thamel. The rooms were clean, the ambiance was peaceful, and the location is perfect for exploring Kathmandu. A special shoutout to @Ranjana and @Akshunnd from the hotel team — they went above and beyond to help us arrange a cab to Birgunj at short notice. Their support, calm demeanor, and willingness to assist made a big difference during a stressful time. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. Hotel Thamel is a clean, well facilitated property in a great location, quiet but smack bang in the hustle of Thamel. Very well managed by Rohit, a very smart and kind young man. Wonderful front desk staff….particularly Ranjana, who organised us a great countryside tour, Shrabya and Bijana , with thoughtful communication right from the time of booking. All staff….restaurant, cleaning and security absolutely amazing. To top it off you will not find a better dining location in Thamel with a wide menu of large portioned, scrumptious meals, a good wine selection and happy, attentive staff. Thankyou to everyone for making our stay with you so special.

The buffet breakfast included everything one might want; on the last 2 days we had to book a set breakfast. All in all, a very nice stay.
