Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. DenmarkMy single room had a perfect size and was beautifully designed bringing out a very cozy feeling. The location was perfect and when entering the courtyard of the place, all the noises from the buzy capital city seemed to deem down. The hosts are lovely people always ready to assist you with any questions or help needed. I will diffinately stay with them again next time I go to Katmandu and I can highly recommend you to do the same.

RussiaWe spent 2 nights here and were satisfied. the hosts are very nice and ready to answer our requests and questions. We lived in a room with a sofa and a separate bed. the bathroom has a shower with hot water. the room had plenty of space to relax. also in the courtyard there is an open-air space where you can have a good time. Breakfast is good here as well. this place has a very good location - close to Thamel and near Durbar square. You are in a quieter place and good bonus that everything is within walking distance. We will be happy to come here again.

Location was really good middle of Thamel and basantapur feel like staying in newari community and surrounding. Really appreciated to owner amir he is really helpful and he always supports for everything what we ask for help never said no . Really happy with kitchen small but good .I will definitely book again next year to see you guys and thank you guys really appreciated.

SpainThis place has something special.The decoration is stunning and all with Nepali traditional material.I felt extremely welcomed and Amir is just such a nice and kind soul.He was looking after me a lot and it was so nice to have chat with him. The room was very clean, tidy and beautiful .It felt peaceful in the room and also in the patio. What is very special also is that despite of being in the heart of the chaotic Kathmandu The Melo Pomelo remind a peaceful place that give you a good switch off from the busy city. I absolutely loved it and I will come back.I walked easily to all the main touristic places...temples, Thames, Durbar Square...

JapanBathroom smells so badly of sewage - god forbid you leave the door ajar, the whole room will just stink of raw sewage. There's basically no sound proofing, so if you are as unlucky as we were, and your room is opposite a noisy european couple, be prepared to wake up at 4am when they do...
Loved the decoration of the room, super cosy and comfortable. Staff are amazing, so so friendly and go out of their way to help.

TaiwanThe experience in The Melo Pomelo Courtyard is my worst nightmare literally in my whole life so far! If only I could give minus 10 to rank this place! The host has terrible contingency management capacity, terrible attitude and showing no empathy to help at all. AT ALL!!! The timing I visited was on 31 JAN, the winter time, very cold but if everything works fine, it should be manageable. Unfortunately, everything worked NOT FINE AT ALL! Specifically, I didn’t have hot water for shower and told the host at 21:34 on What’s App and simply put, all I got was “sorry for the inconvenience.” I asked if there’s any heater or electric blanket in my room at 23:10 as I was almost freeze to death. No response. I asked again for how to get hot water at 00:42 in the midnight to warm myself up. Still no response until the next morning at 06:08. All I got was once-again the explanation of how to use the bathroom amenity like I don’t know how to read… At 07:48, the host confirmed that the heat pump for hot water was broken and had it repaired at 08:20 and told me it would take 1 hour for heating up the water. I didn’t have that much time so I had my second cold shower……. After my complaint, the host offered me 50% discount to shut me up for this review to be shared online. I refused to take it and HE ALSO REFUSED to let me deposit my luggage at this place for few hours since my flight is at 21:00 that night……………… Furiously, I suffered the whole night and still got this service and attitude. And now I need carry my 20-kg backpack whole day because of such “unforgettable” host quality and hospitality in The Melo Pomelo Courtyard. In fact, I just completed my 5-day Mardi Himal trek right before this stay and I don’t even know which one is worse, in the mountain or at The Melo Pomelo Courtyard? Honestly, this is literally the worst place and host I’ve ever had and I really hope no one will ever experience it like I did…………………………….

SingaporeAs with most properties, sound proofing is a little poor in the room we were in. We were just next to the alley way and could hear the kids and dogs through the walls.
A small property with big beautifully decorated private ensuite rooms. The bed was comfortable with electric blankets for chilly nights. Water pressure was great and hot water was readily available.

Peaceful property away from the main road. Low amount of outside noise only at a reasonable time of morning, quite pleasant. Amir stayed up until 11pm to let us check in. We had a double room with private bathroom. Short walk to Thamel and Durbar square. Very kind and accomodating hosts who are willing to help and give good recommendations. the hosts spoke good English and were very cool to talk to. Very comfortable bed, I had no trouble sleeping at all, it was the best!
