Wander Thirst makes me feel at home. I have returned a second time after staying here six months ago because it has such good energy. I’ve stayed in almost all their accomodation: the dorms are clean, have personal powerpoints and privacy curtains, and also lockers for valuables in the room (but not big enough to fit your whole backpack). The private rooms with shared bathroom are great value and comfy, and the private room with ensuite had one of the biggest and best beds ever. The tents were great also! They are lockable, and have great beds too. However you couldn’t hang out in them during the day (in April) as it was way too hot. The common area is a great place to sit in all day, lounging in the hammocks or on the floor seating. When I’ve stayed outside of Thamel but came in for errands, I would stop by Wander Thirst to sit in the common area, work on my laptop, and order a beer from the bar. There are plugs on the outdoor tables and the wifi works great. It’s also a great place to meet other travellers! Can’t wait to come back :)

This was a really lovely hostel. It’s super sociable and has loads of chill space and the staff are really friendly. The only reason I haven’t given a full 10 stars is because our bathroom in our en suite is in the direct view of a bedroom window opposite. It meant while I showered it was a bit uncomfortable stressing about others seeing me in there. This is the only improvement this hostel needs, some bathroom curtains.

Nice place to stay! The outside relaxing space is really nice and if you’re into meeting new people, you can just ask and join, but if you like to travel more solo, you can also just chill there by yourself. The rooms are also really clean (they clean them every day), there are enough showers and restrooms and it is really nice how you meet new people in the room!

The hostel was the best choice for a female solo traveler. I had a very nice private room and enjoyed my evenings working at the beautiful garden! The stuff was perfect, very kind and smiling! It was very calm and quiet even if it is located in a very crowded area of Kathmandu! The food was very tasty! You have the chance to meet a lot of people from around the globe! I totally recommend it and for sure I would stay again!

nice location with very nice people ! The people that come to wander thirst are always so sweet :) Lots of common areas where you can meet people. The 4 bed dormitory is very nice and spatious, the 6th one not very but alright. The staff is lovely.

Great place. Friendly staff, even got a welcome drink. Social vibe depends from day to day. Clean hostel (just rembember they clean the dorm bathrooms little early). Located in a side street of Thamel (better, cause no noise from the traffic). Definetly recommend it! Cheers from Holland

The only thing that bothered me was the shower. Not all of them had hot water, and they weren't clean. In the morning, they were perfect, but at the end of the day, they were covered in mud. Maybe it's the people who went there who weren't being respectful, but it would be really nice to have the showers cleaned another time during the day.

the location is perfect, a bit outside of the chaos of Kathmandu, I really loved the 4 bed dormitory, lots of space and very comfortable. The food you can gt at the hostel is also very nice, but the highlight is the people that go to wander thirst and the staff! Lots of nice people :)

I stayed 2 weeks, and booked a private room with shared bathroom. Got upgraded with a room with my own bathroom at no extra cost. I got greated by the team with a free cup of tea. I had an amazing bed, hot water everyday. The staff were so nice, and did an amazing job. The food was good and portions were generous. Location is excellent 👌. I came to Kathmandu to study and this place was perfect. I could have quiet alone time when I wanted with my spacious room, yet it was easy to meet people at the outdoor lounge area when I felt like it. I recommend staying there.

It would be good if shared shower areas had hooks on the back of doors to hang stuff on to avoid them getting wet. Drivers sometimes got lost looking for the location and a signpost to the hostel further back on Kushlechaur Marg from Paknajol Marg may help with this.

I stayed here at the beginning and end of a 6 week trip in Nepal last year. I am booking it again for my next trip. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I had several delicious meals during my stay and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the social areas. I also loved the location being slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel but also within easy walking distance of cultural attractions, shopping and entertainment.

Beautiful shared room with a heater! We felt so spoiled and lucky. Access to hot water to drink 24/7. Great shower, clean and just so nice and chill.

Honestly I kept going back to this hostel between trekking and meditation retreats, it was so so good! Great common space, restaurant, service, wifi, and comfortable and clean rooms! I highly recommend this hostel after trying out others in Kathmandu this one was my favorite!
