How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Yog hostel is an amazing place. This is the place to be, if you are in Kathmandu. Everything is perfect in this hostel. The decoration, the plants, the colors, the atmosphere, the music... The dorms are very cute and the price very reasonable. The staff is great too, very helpful and attentive. We are well received and with a smile. The rooftop of the hotel is just perfect. The view of Kathmandu is amazing, up there! There is also a bar and a restaurant. Everything is super tasty. The service is fast. The menu offers a wide choice for really low prices. This rooftop is perfect for meeting people from all over the world and also local Nepalese peoples. I kept extending my stay there, I felt so good. The location is also superb, in the heart of Thamel district which is very nice. Don't hesitate for a minute! I highly recommend this place. Reserve now.

I have returned to Kathmandu time and again during my travels in Nepal, and each and every time I have come back to Yog hostel. There is an incredible atmosphere at Yog - the place where a melting pot of travellers and people from all walks of life fall in together - it truly is the place to be if you want to meet plenty of both locals and nomads. The rooftop is excellent, the vibes are very chilled, and the staff are more than accomodating. Truly, it's the staff that make this place such a gem in the heart of Thamel. They truly are the embodiment of everything great about the Nepali - friendly, with a brilliant sense of humour, warm-hearted and open-minded, they cannot do enough for you! A special mention to Shruti, Shiva and Pakesh :) they have helped me out more times than I count, and a conversation with any of them quickly wraps a smile across your face. Last but not least, you get a lot for your money here - you are provided with a kitchen, to cook your own food (perhaps when you're missing home-cooking, or simply wish to travel on a budget and save some cash), they have a free travel information center, they are well-equipped with local knowledge, infromation on bus-times, local festivals and whatnot, and let's not forget - you get free yoga classes every morning as part of your stay! If that doesn't seal the deal, I don't know what will ;) Thank you Yog, will definitely be back! All the love.

Leaving.
After a long way to Nepal, you wanna feel like a guest, not like a costumer, and this is the talent of the staff at Yog Hostel. You always feel nice and welcome. I was staying in a 6 bed room, it was clean and comfortable, great shower, and no lack of toilet paper. You wanna sped your time in the sitting area and try the food of the rich menu. Best location for before and after treking.

The property is the best in Thamel for people looking to meet new people and also have some privacy. There's a rooftop resturant as well.

There isn't a common room to sit and chat and meet people (only upstairs cafe with different sections). It's also in an expensive area for food.
Reception staff lovely. View from rooftop is unbeatable. Very comfortable bunk room, I slept really well

It was all perfect. Maybe more variety in the breakfast.
Friendly, attentive, thoughtful staff. Beautiful views from rooftop 360 Good restaurant and plants are everywhere. Great location and good price. Comfortable bed. Good hot shower. Free yoga classes every morning. Free room service. Co-working space. Free drinking water. Sheared Kitchen. never see like this kind of any hostel with lots of facilities. Highly recommended.

the staff is fantastically friendly and resourceful, the private room is very spacious and quiet, the location is great as it's right in Thamel, but surprising peaceful the free yoga class at 9am is also a great bonus

We stayed on the terrace(which was very vibrant) until late at night and then returned to our room. The room was good, had a good vibe(good paintings and plants inside). I would go back again.

Not been able to stay longer 😅
It was very special to stay at Yog. Niceste and cool place. Good ambience all the staff are very helpful specially shruti, thank you Shruti🙏 you are best. Beds are comfortable they have several types of rooms for different prices starts from 500 Nepali rupees to 700 Nepali rupees and it's includes free yoga, free drinking water, shared kitchen and the co-working space for fast internet.

The dorm room was small with no fan and one tiny window. It was hot and humid with mosquitoes. The bunks were built smaller than the mattresses and the mattresses were unevenly packed. Felt a little like sleeping in a shack in the middle of the jungle. Personally I think it would be better to stay at one of the many other surrounding hostels and visit the rooftop as you please
You can't deny how good the rooftop is. Many levels of steel platform makes for a jungle gym style roof and one of the highest points in the area. A great place to look over KTM or meet other travellers with a bar and food options.

I like the daily Yoga classes it's make my day wonderful to start up😌 and the co-working space is top up the cherry I really thanks for that. Rooftop is amazing for all the greenery and the view of Kathmandu. Food is good for it's own price no complaints. Best hostel Recommended 🙏

My room was on the main stairs to the bar so a bit noisy
Yog was amazing. Such a nice hostel the roof bar has incredible views back over Kathmandu and the staff were helpful

All the staff members were absolutely wonderful to chat to and hangout with, and were always really helpful when you needed more urgent help with things such as organising official documents ie. covid PCR tests. Shiva and Shruti run the hostel with high levels of organisation and care. Thank you!

Very nice hostel with a good price! For me in one of the best area to stay in KTM, i really enjoyed staying at Yog (reason why I came back). The environment of the hostel is really welcoming, the rooftop is just amazing, the staff is very helpful and the dorms are confy! They have free yoga in the morning, which was also fantastic! Definitely recommend

the food is a bit pricey but nothing to bad.
the staff is just amazing. shiva the owners have a beautiful heart and so as the staff at the rooftop (which is a great place to chill).
