    The concierge staff entered my room by mistake delivering someone else’s bags (when I was out) and left the door ajar for several hours until I found it. The hotel management did seem to take it seriously but nonetheless should not have happened. For at least 5 of the days of my stay the room was not cleaned until I called in the late afternoon

    In room shower ( head) is to low and the in hotel dining (buffet) has variety but does not justify the charge per head.

    Bath and shower weren't working had to call maintaince when we were getting ready to go out. Quite loud inside rooms could hear outside etc

    It was far too busy - for a five star hotel there were too many people. The pool was ridiculously full and so was the breakfast restaurant . I think that the hotel needs to consider its pricing as filling it up through cheap prices devalues the quality of the hotel.

    The room and toilet were not clean. The toilet bowl was not cleaned from day one and the room was not vacuumed

    Shower was pathetic - very little pressure. Air conditioning was very noisy. No face flannels.

    You used to have lovely flowers in the lobby, these weren't there this time and I assume there are cost cuttings which is a real shame as that sort of detail is what made the hotel feel special.

    Definitely not as clean as the past. Had a funny smell. Staff were friendly but just need more training. Mini bar wasn’t refilled and had to request twice for it to be refilled. They then tried to charge me for the food that was missing and obviously consumed by previous quests

    The beds were great to sleep in and the rooms very nicely furnished. I thought the bathroom were really nice also. Unfortunately i was disappointed in the cost of the valet parking as last time i stayed there it was complimentary. I also thought the tv in the room should have had a streaming app like Netfilx or similar, as the cost of renting a movie though the hotel was outrageous. Also we thought the rooms were quite noisy, could constantly hear other door closing and people talking as they walked past. The wait staff at 8 restaurant were great and the food was also real nice.

    My first room wasn’t as clean and stocked as well as it usually is. There was an empty slipper packet in my waldrobe and things were not as I have experienced in the past. I checked in at 2am and asked for a late checkout then received a phone call around 8am while I was sleeping asking me if it was ok for the internet man to do work in my room. I said I was sleeping. I love the Cordis but something has changed with the quality of staff.

    It is always lovely to be greeted by the night porter. He is always a friendly familiar face to see.

    Poor service: I transferred this booking for my brother, who travelled to Auckland for work. The payment was to be deducted from my credit card as per conditions of the booking this did not happen. My brother checked in and the person at reception was rude to him and made him pay upon arrival (Thursday evening) and did not offer to help him with his bag yet he has a disability. Another friend of his made a complaint which resulted in my brother being upgraded to an accessible room. We will not be staying here again!

    The second night at Eight with my guests, I asked the manager to take my brilliant card details and card details as I didn't want my guest to pay, this didn't happen always insisted that they would take care of it at the end, this was embarrassing. the staff were not as sharp as the night before. And now points awarded? On the third night, I had to speak to the customer desk and the duty manager in one day as our laundry was not done it was left the whole day where we had left it in our room, as per our instructions. the manager and everyone else assured me they would help, but they didn't and the free drinks I was promised didn't materialize. This was disappointing. On the second day in eight restaurant, one of the waitresses insisted on educating my guest that there was no such thing as Lactose-free milk and that we had only Skim on offer, and my friends were left embarrassed and annoyed. training on the edict to be used with foreign guests would be awesome

    The Eight restaurant was pleasant and airy, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our room was spacious and the bed was a dream, all the staff at eight on our first night was professional and there was a Filipino lady who was amazing, and very attentive and the service was a delight.

    While the hotel is clean it's very musty smelly like the carpet inside the rooms and out needs a good clean. Also don't think you should charge $10 to deliver room service and also $22 to watch movies both should be free of charge.

    The restaurant buffet was a noisy feeding frenzy . A relaxed dinner was not possible .The a la carte menu was limited in choice for a top hotel in the city. Both nights the steak was overdone despite our request for medium. Many staff do not understand or speak English well .

    We enjoyed the room facilities and the location was perfect for our trip activities

    Manager and other staff were irresponsible for their work. No cleaning for 3 nights stay, inspite of the sign 'please clean up the room' So many lies made us exhausted. The receptionist lied. He told to text me when the room got ready but no text. The concierge lied. He told he could get a taxi for us but no taxi came to us for 30 minuites. During we had to wait, my mother almost 90 years old caught a cold. The phone operators dial 0 lied. He and she made sure that our room got cleaned but not cleaned yet when we came back around 8 pm on the third day. I called them twice, at 11 am and 4:30 pm. The cleaning staff lied. I asked to clean my room up when I met one of the staff at 3 pm in the corridor, she answered the 'do not disturb' sign was on. I told her it was 'please clean up the room' since 11am and please clean up my room. She said "yes " but no cleaning . The night shift manager was irresponsible for those mess. She went out when we asked for her and we were told to wait for 30 minutes because she is having dinner. It was after 8 pm and my mother wanted to rest. We had to change room. She KINDLY offered the hotel credit for dinner or something. We said no thanks. We could enjoy nothing at this hotel. She also gave us a fruits ball with a message card without signature of hers. She seemed to avoid taking responsibility. And the sliding door at the bathroom bit my nephew's hand and he injured to bleed. It was designed to make fingers injured. When we're checking out, a lunch fee we never had was included. Finally the day shift manager offered 50% reduction of our fee. Although it didn't cure my mother's physical condition. What's wrong with those people? Harassment? Racism? What did we do to them? Anything wrong? I don't believe this hotel is rated 5 stars.

    The service on this occasion was chaotic. We’ve stayed at the cordis a lot over the last 10 years and something has definitely fallen off the rails. There were a couple of key things to mention. 1. The inclusions described were different from what we had. Breakfast was included but there didn’t seem to be access to the club lounge breakfast or pressing etc. that is described in the booking details…this leads to point 2. The left hand and right hand were definitely not in unison. One person said breakfast was in the lounge and gave us all the details for the lounge but then we couldn’t access it. When I first arrived I went all the way through check in process to find there was a 1-2 hour wait for the room ( I was there just after 3 to check in). When I came back 2 hours later (after no call or update from the hotel) two different people said they’d check where it was at and didn’t then follow up with an update when they got off the phone or spoke to the right person. Yes I was comped dinner for two but the apology was minimal. Yes I got a late checkout but had to check to make sure that had been applied. Just all and all a frustrating service experience with the front desk. I got the feeling that everyone was super under the pump and didn’t have the energy to go the ‘extra mile’ as I have experienced every other time I’ve stayed at the cordis and previously langham. Service is sooo important to me that even though the room was brilliant and I was happy as Larry having just got married that the shine of cordis is well and truly gone for me. Such a shame.

    We love the cordis. It’s beautifully maintained and is always finding new ways of improving itself and keep it fresh. Great location near to our wedding venue so getting ready with the girls beforehand was perfect.

    Poor customer service. Bed was not comfortable and basic items which indicated as include in the room such as hair dryer was not available. No proper communication, different answers given by different customer service ppl.

    Prior to arrival I have requested kids complimentary amenities pack and I was told it will be ready to collect at the arrival. However it was not available at the arrival and the receptionist told she will arrange to send it in 15mn to our room so my daughter was so excited. After few hours I called the receptionist and they said it will come but it didn't arrive, then after an hr i called again and they said they are out of stock. Also the hair dryer and bath gel for the tub were not available in the room , when we checked they said they will send one to the room but only bath gel arrived not the hair dryer even though the customer service confirmed it is arriving. Then we checked for the 5th time they said no hair dryer was available 🙄 We wanted to speak to the manager but manager didn't pick the call so My husband sent an email to the MD.As a result, the front desk manager was courteous to give us a complimentary extension till lunch and complimentary lunch. However the reception informed us that our checkout time was 2pm but later we've got an email confirming new checkout time was 1pm. We felt there was no proper communication among the staff. However they asked us to stay till 2pm also informed that go to the restaurant that lunch was served ,they have informed that we were entitled to a complimentary lunch. It was a bit disappointing that when we went to the restaurant they were not aware of that and they said sorry you have no reservations. Then my husband had to show the email from his email which was very embarrassing for us. This is the first time we ever encountered such poor quality of service from a 5 star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

    Corridors in the new tower were quite dark and walls and carpet were stained . Not enough wardrobe space and the quite bizarre addition of a large picture window in the bathroom/ toilet
