Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandFrom a practical point of view not having a plug in the bathroom and the mirror over the toilet instead of the basin is an unusual choice. We both at different times hit our head on the hanging light in the bathroom, we aren't overly tall so found that a bit of a hazzard. Because we come from Canterbury we both felt the TV (very large) hanging above our head in bed was slightly uncomfortable, this maybe only because we have lived through all the earthquakes and had that whole experience of things crashing around us, we maybe more sensitive than most of the visitors staying.
The location was excellent for us, and the accomodation was in a beautiful location and so well placed for what we had planned. The owner of the property was very friendly.

IndiaIt's a bit far away from the Queenstown city. If you have a car (rented or own) then it shouldn't be a problem. But if you are on your own then cab is the only option and it will become expensive.
The location is just amazing.. the view from the room is breathtaking.. Room is also neat and clean and has all the amenities. Our host Philly is so generous and helpful and a very good host. We loved our stay. 10 out of 10 for this one. I highly recommend this property to the nature lovers although it is a bot far from main city but if you need nature then this is just made for you.

United StatesEverything was great.
Everything! The bed was very comfortable. We could choose to wake up to the sun or close the black out curtains if we wanted it dark. The views are stunning, especially the stars at night. Location was great since we had a car. Loved sitting in the hot tub after our days off hiking, looking at the stars above.

United KingdomIt’s a little bit exposed to the private family’s garden if you’re outside on the terrace. Nothing wrong with it, but it reminded me of early Airbnb days when you shared the room with people.
Incredible views and location, very nice room, clean and spacious.

New ZealandNumber of the place is not easily seen from the road. A little bit unusual to sleep with a massive tv above our head. But it’s a great tv and there isn’t another option for where to put it.

The view and the location are second to none and the hot tub is the perfect touch. The kitchenette is fitted out and includes two small hot plates, air fryer and pod coffee machine - such a treat! We loved waking up every morning to that view! Also, our daily pup visits were a value add!

AustraliaAs we are in our seventies it would have be good to have a couple of comfortable chairs to sit on rather than all beanbags. Found it a bit difficult getting up from the beanbags. Also was only green tea bags, no other choices.

The place is superb! They have an automatic gate and spacious private parking. The bed and linen are very clean and comfortable. You can see the view of the Coronet peak while soaking in the hot tub. It has a kitchen from which you can cook your own food. With a large TV and an outstanding sound system. It's a great place to stay if you want to get away from the crowded area around Queenstown.

Super quiet clean and an outstanding separate guest house. I wish we'd had time to use the hot tub on the deck with close views of Coronet Peak in the evening. The owner was very conscientious and friendly indeed, leaving us feeling really looked after. Absolute return visit worthy.

United KingdomThe fridge was very noisy and kept us awake at night. The kitchen was very badly equipped and the microwave I had to get on my hands and knees to use , the owners did message the day before to mention that the kitchen equipment was very limited which isn’t helpful when you have booked months in advance and if I had know I might have reconsidered our stay . The towels were stuffed in a cupboard and not great , the toiletries were nearly empty luckily had our own . We had to ask for English tea bags as only green tea . It felt like they had this building which was in a great location but they couldn’t be bothered with all the extras that one would expect from a private concern. It could be so much better .
The view was stunning

United StatesThere are some quarky design elements that affected the comfort of our stay. There are no outlets anywhere near the bed for charging phones or for lamps and each side of the bed. There is a weak battery powered lamp that is more if a night light. The TV is above the bed so if you try to sit up in bed, you head will the TV. This means that one person can't be up with their own light while the other person sleeps. You also can't read in bed sitting up on the bed. The bathroom mirror is above the toilet instead of above the sink, which is a bit odd. The sink is very small and there is no counter space around the sink. There are no towel hooks to place your towel so it's easily reachable when you are done showering. There is a towel rack outside of the bathroom in the main living area. There's no place to put your towel so it's within easy reach when you are finished showering. The water gets nice and hot, water pressure is okay. The bar stools are low so it's hard to sit and eat at the bar. There is another table with 2 chairs that can be used to eat at. The bar stool has something that looks like it's a place to rest your feet but it's at the opposite end of the seat so you feet are left dangling. The designated are to park and the guest house are a bit far from each other.
There is a stunning view from the guest room and the hot tub was great. The room is as pictured and looks nice. The cooking area is nice. We only made breakfast but it had all the things we needed. It also has an air fryer which moat places don't have. It's nice and quiet, 20 min drive from Queenstown and 10 min drive from the airport. Check-in and check-out was easy.

South AfricaThe ensuite room with a kitchenette was large and clean. The spa/hot tub which we were looking forward to, was not working. Perhaps there should have been a user manual. In the cupboard, there were several assorted sizes and colors of beach type towels, no white bath towels as one would expect. I have to use a CPAP machine at night to sleep. I was not able to do this as there was no bedside plug point. There were no bedside lights at all. There was no ice in the fridge, we requested some and got it. There was no shower gel available, luckily, we had our own. The milk left in the fridge for us was sour.
The view was spectacular, just as it was advertised.
