How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We both found the bed too firm, and I woke with a sore back. If you want to work, there is no power outlet beside the table to be able to charge a laptop. We did hear people walking about in the room above us.
This hotel was a bonus find for us after an unexpected overnight stay in Auckland when our flight was cancelled. This is a new hotel a short distance from the airport terminals within the airport industrial area. We used the airport shuttle bus to get to and from, with free transport to the hotel, and a cost of $8.00 each for the return journey. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room we had was a good size and spotless. We also had breakfast included in our rate which was a simple, but good buffet breakfast. They do also provide evening meals, but we didn't require this as we had eaten at the airport.

This is a hidden little gem of a hotel, definitely will come back when I'm in Auckland again! Staff were amazing and very attentive, thank you for a beautiful stay!!

I thought this hotel was incredible value for what they offered. The breakfast was outstanding, the rooms were super clean, very friendly front desk staff, so close to the airport. Brilliant for a one night stay.

The bed was a little hard to sleep on but depends what you prefer. I got used to it the second night but the mattresses could be changed for a little more comfort. A few more amenities could be supplied in the rooms such as a tea towel and a small bottle of dish washing liquid to dry the dishes after use (if reusing before room cleaning the next day), a small bottle of milk rather than individual portions that are fiddly to open OR provide more individual portions.
The breakfast was perfect for a non breakfast eater. There was a variety and while it wasn't a huge selection, there was plenty of it. Fresh and hot, and always topped up when required. The staff were also very helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure needs were provided for. Top marks for all those who I interacted with. Also appreciated the location - very close to the airport and while it is built in the industrial section near the airport, I found it quiet and convenient. Super impressed with the cleanliness of the room - it was spotless and the shower had a good pressure to it. Perfect. It was good to have some back entrances from the carpark into the building so one didn't need to walk all the way around to the front entrance, especially in the wind and rain (there are no designated carparks at the front of the hotel).
