The kitchen is a little bit crowded. The heavy bass from the bar in the lobby even the door can't keep it away...

The room door is wonderful for keep away noise. Inside the room was clean and cosy.

A little more expensive than other hostels

Great facilities, and when I had to leave earlier, they returned the money for the dates I wasn't staying with very little notice. This was much appreciated and not something I requested, so very nice if them to have done so.

The bathroom and dorm was not always cleaned and there was a bad smell from the ventilation.

You need meals on sale with more vegetables - perhaps some salads. I ended up going to Subway round the corner a few times as I could get a more balanced choice of proteins and vegetables and it was MY choice. No pies available at all. I struggled with the use of my phone for so much, including checking-in. I couldn't work out how to scan the bar code so was unaware of all the facilities and extras and it seemed the only way to find out without asking. I am of an age where we do not rely on phones and prefer paper copies of everything. However the staff were excellent in looking things up for me. I really panicked over leaving my luggage for a week at Lylo and I was charged a staggering £1,503.62 (NZD 3,000) by Elocker Ltd for it in error. The only notification I had of this was by checking my credit card statement online. Fortunately, again, by checking my credit card statement online I saw it was quickly reinstated with £1,484,26 (2,970 NZD) paid in but the amounts appeared on separate statements so, since getting back to the UK, I have had to check with the bank (in person) to make sure the second amount is taken into account when I pay the first otherwise I would have been out of pocket until the end of June when this second payment was due.

Preparing my own food and plenty of storage for it. Was there breakfast? I must have missed it despite staying at Lylo for 9 nights in total! No window in my private room but a better view than I probably would have had with the rooftop camera linked to the large TV screen in my room. I grew to thoroughly enjoy watching the changes throughout the day. The 'quiet' area on the second floor was a real find and great to relax in. I was really impressed with Lylo and I would definitely come again. So much thought had gone into it and it was certainly an improvement on your Juicy Snooze in Christchurch (which was good but not as good as Auckland). If wanted, there was a programme of entertainment in the evenings in the bar area - which was also open to the public. Great idea.

Netting in my pod was torn. Guests not cleaning up in the kitchen and bathrooms. Their was no pies friday morning at the Restaurant, only croissants.

Location. Central and accessible to north shore and greater, Auckland. Staff, great. Easy checking in out. Pods. No hassles.

The music from the bar downstairs was very loud, going pretty much all day and into the evening (though it stopped around 10pm so that was fine). Not great if you are wanting an afternoon nap! No windows in the room, so no natural light.

Fire Safety needs to be improved - there was a plastic bag over the smoke alarm that I had to report. Late check-out also wasn't possible when requested several weeks in advance because they were fully booked and the suitcase room was almost full too.

kitchen have too much smoke of the food, must stink your clothes when you go down to the ground floor. room is too small to open a big luggage,other people may not move around.

The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't book in person. It should state clearly on the website that reservations are needed.

It was very clean and adorable! It feels like a place where people hang out in general even if they arent staying the night in one of the rooms.
