I love Lylo hostels. This one also didn't disappoint. The bar/pub downstairs seemed lively in a good way. The living area is still quiet and restful. It's a good location too. Would stay again in a heartbeat

We are a bit older than the backpacker crowd, but the private rooms, while minimalist, were still plenty comfortable and a great landing pad for our Auckland adventures. Having kitchen and laundry facilities onsite ended up being a great bonus.

I wish the hostel had the option for female only dorms - it is so much more comfortable for solo female travellers. Ensuites in the dorms would also be nice but the shared bathrooms were fine. The light in the pod was also really bright which was overwhelming when I had just woken up.

I loved the design of the beds which allowed for full privacy while also offering a fan for ventilation! I also loved that the beds had adaptors and that the hostel offered free luggage storage before check in.

The place was packed, the registration, kitchen, bathrooms were very busy throughout my stay. When something didn't work, it took quite a while to find someone to fix it.

These details annoyed me a little, but they don't change the rating I give this place: The bathrooms can get very slippery because of the water coming out of the showers. There are no brushes to clean the toilets after us, so sometimes you have a souvenir of the previous person (lovely...) More often than I could count, mostly in the morning or end of the day, only one toilet had toilet paper in the girl's bathroom. Which was very annoying. It does get warm very quickly in the pods, but if you turn on the room fan and your pod fan, it's kind of okay.

Very nice place to stay. Especially with all the communal areas. Lots of activities going on at Miss Lucy's (although not always very well organised or timely). The pods are very comfortable, with plenty of space to store your things and a secure locker. You can have your own space and privacy, which is not always the case in hostels. The kitchen is large and there is plenty of seating. The staff is nice, and the travel desk thing is very practical. Check-in and check-out are quite easy (you do have to pay 15$ if you want to check-in early tho). I stayed in other hostels since Lylo, and honestly, nothing compares to it. By far the best hostel I've ever been in.

The bathrooms are very stylish but it would be nice if the walls of the stalls went a little lower. You always get splashed by the neighbouring shower, which is annoying when you're done showering. Also I had to wait an hour in order to be able to store my luggage because the room was full.

The staff was really friendly and the pods super comfortable. The facilities are great, with nice common areas and the bar downstairs. And they also offer plenty of fun activities.

Very hot rooms but came with a fan so not too much of an issue

We absolutely loved the vibe of this hostel and it was very handy having the restaurant/ bar area just next door!
