Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNegatives: 1. No swimming pool 2. No Free Parking. The only option offered to us was an expensive $45/day Valet parking, which we declined and ended up parking on the roadside parking. 3. The room is average. The toilet design is actually quite weird. 4. No complimentary Water in Room 5. There is not even a minibar or option to buy water in room. 6. The TV in the room didn't work and we had to call the reception to get it fixed. (It did get fixed but not a good first impression) 7. Breakfast buffer was average and difficult to justify the cost. 8. Restaurant food was average and took a very long time to get our drinks and good, all though the restaurant was not that busy.
I would describe our experience with Pullman Rotorua to be 'Average'. The reason being, all though it is classed as 5 star, they fall short of expectations in a few area and as a result difficult to justify the premium. Here are the positives and negatives in my opinion. Positives: 1. Great Location 2. New Property 3. Good Service

New Zealandparking was a mission ---gate to parking was open on arrival --so i parked ---took me 20 mins to get someone to let me out. how are we supposed to know to report to reception before entering car park when its open also $46.00 a night for valet parking WOW
the restaurant was a bit sparse for a upmarket hotel ---felt like local bistro meals were tasty but way over priced $16.00 for fries

New ZealandWe really enjoyed staying in Rotorua, the service was great and the food was Devine. There was Just a few things we thought could be improved. After staying in several 4-5 star hotels and Most of them cheaper (eg Hilton, QT, Art Museum) we were expecting a bit more for the price. 1. The room wasn’t very culturally sensitive or hygienic when it came to the sink. The only place to fill the jug up with was from the same sink I had to wash my hands in and spit in when I brush my teeth. That’s a big no in Māori culture and in general for some people. It did upset me that we paid $1200 for 2 nights and we didn’t realise we would have no seperate sink to drink from. 2. The toilets were not private and left nothing to the imagination. I was in a room with my husband of 15 years and even we felt a bit awkward with the lack of privacy in the toilet. 3. There was no cutlery. We arrived late so grabbed some dinner on the way ready to eat in our room. To our surprise there was no Microwave, no plates and no cutlery. We’ve never experienced this with a 5 star. It said a small kitchenette and we assumed that meant cutlery and sink but alas there was none. 4. We ended up ordering room service as we wanted warm food and cutlery and when it arrived we realised there was no proper table setting to eat at.
Service & Breakfast were fantastic

New ZealandI didn't like the layout of the room. The bathroom was a little cubicle within your own room, and it wasn't fully enclosed. I'd like a little more privacy when i'm in there....
I thought we had breakfast added onto our stay, when we arrived it wasn't so. Would have been nice, but oh well.

New ZealandThe bathroom was not private. When travelling with a colleague you do want some more privacy than what the rooms had. Like a bathroom wall...

New ZealandIt was not awful but the bathroom and toilet situation was weird; singular rooms opposite each other was inconvenient when you need to get change - it felt out in the open ;exposed; we mentioned this to staff who said that comment is made often; no where to hang your towels or hand towels; the shelving was too low to reach or place cosmetic bags ... the bathroom unfortunately was a bit of a miss - bit of let down for a nice establishment
friendly staff; minimal wait time to order; location; had breakfast - very delicious; had drinks prior to going out and very comfortable and pleasant environment

French Polynesiaroom a little bit small, but, ok for 2 double bed nothing in minibar
super spot in town, we were very close to all shops and famous Fenton avenue axle, that was a great stay in Rotorua, 5 minutes driving to the famous Polynesian spas, and we had a very great experience there, not far from the luge, gondolas food at buffet, great experience too
