Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe room wasn't ready to check into on our arrival but we were lucky to be given a cocktail voucher to use while we waited. Could see from our room into the office building across the road but we were home much during the day to worry too much about this.
Interior design is modern and cool. The bathroom was my favourite part of the room, amazing shower! Excellent breakfast included. The lighting in the room was also great.

New ZealandThe air conditioning was poor in our room. Just couldn’t get the temperature down…dropped 1/2 degree over 5 hours. The compendium was a downloadable app with a QR code on the TV. When tried to download, it said it wasn’t available in our country (we’re from NZ and have NZ cell phones so. not sure what that was about). No waste paper basket, which was fine, but was searching for it! maybe this info was in the compendium we couldn’t download.
The rooms were modern and inviting. The bed was super comfortable. Dyson hairdryer was a nice touch.

New ZealandThere were only two little things we noticed and to be honest totally first world problems- the first was the lighting in the room is a wee bit on the dark side as nd if the master switch is off the night light wouldn’t work and you couldn’t turn the bathroom lights on so you were some what ‘ in the dark’ - this however could also have been total operator error but when we went to look it up on the compendium that is on the TV info system the QR code told us it was unavailable in NZ 🥴
modern, funky and so clean!! it was a stones throw from everything we just parked up and walked. The staff were so friendly nothing was a problem, the rooftop bar fabulous and the restaurant just amazing. The ammenities in the room itself were so good, fantastic shower, comfortable beds, a Dyson hairdryer even down to the quality of the mini bar and toiletries every detail was spot on. The fact you can top up your water bottle at one of the filtered water stations is just another tick.

New ZealandIt did not feel like a 5 star hotel. When we arrived, we struggled out of the taxi with lots of bags . There was a person at the door who said welcome but there was no help offered to this couple in their 70s . Bags were taken to the room when we got to the front desk. The lobby areas were small, not well lit, the seating was very low and uncomfortable. We appreciate that the design was very high tech and modern . It was innovative but not as suitable for retirees who require a bit more light in their bedrooms which tended to be very dark. The seating in the Executive king room was limited to 2 extremely low modern chairs and a stool that were almost impossible to use if you were over 5 feet tall. . Very limited storage space for clothes and only 4 hangers. The tea making facilities in the room were again very modern and beautiful but not practical. The cups were thin and had no handles so were very hot when there was a hot beverage in them . There were a selection of teas which included 2 English breakfast tea bags. We requested more on the first day but that was all we got on subsequent days. A rubbish basket in the room would have been helpful as Taking the tea bag out meant a walk to the bathroom or carrying the cup to the bathroom which we did . This was hot and not very safe. The bed was very comfortable which was a bonus. The pillows were average synthetic ones . I probably should have requested down. There was no obvious pillow menu. . We were staying there for 5 days and often liked to have a rest in the afternoon after being out. The room was not made up until late in the day, on one occasion 1630 hours . The staff obviously realised that we were very unhappy about this and went out of their way to make up the deficiency with a glass of champagne and excellent service in the restaurant that evening. The food in general was very good and the service in the restaurant was very good.
Breakfast was good but there were no options for extra fruit on the side such as grapefruits or other fresh fruit. If you ordered a fruit juice you were charged $12.00 extra . To me having ‘breakfast included’ means everything including as many cups of tea or coffee that you want. We were charged extra for a second cup of coffee. This might be ok in a 3 star hotel but not in a 5 star hotel.
